Gamemaster:Now recording.
Argyle:you prep yourself before jumping into the call
Argyle:so you didn't have a delay
Gamemaster:What?
Argyle:uh
Gamemaster:Oh.
Gamemaster:No, I think it just didn't give me a delay this time.
Gamemaster:I reinstalled Discord.
Gamemaster:That might have fixed the issue.
Argyle:How
Gamemaster:Or it's just hiding in wait.
Gamemaster:Oh.
Argyle:have you played any more Marvel Rivals
Gamemaster:No. No. I'm on the very precipice of between bronze and silver. So I know that if I play
Benny:Oh.
Argyle:now that you dug yourself out of bronze?
Gamemaster:just one more game, I will fall back down into bronze. So... I don't know what that
Argyle:Do you have negative LP?
Gamemaster:means. But no, I think?
Argyle:So LP is just like your rating.
Gamemaster:Oh, okay, then no.
Argyle:It's your points out of 100 or something like that.
Argyle:Then you can go up.
Argyle:They'll let you go negative for a little bit.
Gamemaster:So I'm like halfway to silver two right now.
Benny:I played with some friends.
Argyle:Oh, yeah, you're good then.
Argyle:You got like four matches before demotion.
Gamemaster:You underestimate how good I am at losing four matches in a row really quickly.
Argyle:I think I'm just going to create a Smurf.
Gamemaster:The season resets in like two days.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:so it's a non-issue anyway I think
Gamemaster:mhm
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:mhm
Benny:and uh
Benny:I'm only level 22 I think
Benny:25 maybe
Argyle:oh no
Benny:and they're like level
Argyle:what are they
Benny:34 and 55
Benny:and I'm like oh okay
Benny:these guys will be better than me
Benny:and they weren't
Argyle:What's their rank?
Benny:one of them was like oh I did ranked for a bit and got to and got to gold or like Platt And I was like oh okay so you be like pretty good and then i see him i think i think he was playing drunk hopefully but um because i like yeah i like pulled up the stats and they like wow you like a really
Gamemaster:Hopefully.
Argyle:Oh, no.
Benny:good cyclops and i'm like yeah i mean he's the only guy i play so like i better be and then i
Benny:like checked and one of my friends who is like a spider-man but like mostly a spider-man main
Benny:was like 8 and 5
Gamemaster:I think generally the answer is the fact that we did five of our qualifying games with Jorge,
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:and I was like 22 and 1
Benny:and I was like, hey man
Benny:we have
Benny:2 DPS, it feels like
Benny:we have 1 DPS
Benny:it's not a bad stat line
Benny:but
Benny:but it was fine
Benny:yeah
Benny:yeah
Benny:yeah
Gamemaster:which artificially increased the difficulty that we were placed at,
Gamemaster:meant that we ended up lower than our actual skill level.
Benny:Is it like an in-game event?
Argyle:So, yeah.
Gamemaster:Not much lower than our actual skill level, my dude, but lower.
Gamemaster:Because you are penalized for doing that.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:So, oops.
Gamemaster:But the season will reset on the Twin Tower bombing day.
Gamemaster:And then...
Argyle:Should that...
Gamemaster:Maybe?
Gamemaster:I mean, this current season takes place in New York City, so it could happen.
Argyle:save New York City?
Argyle:I would need
Gamemaster:I don't know if Kingpin had anything to do with it, but...
Argyle:so I would need
Argyle:so this will help us if you guys are actually on
Gamemaster:What?
Argyle:when we do placements
Argyle:Marvel Rivals has been like
Gamemaster:No, we don't want to do placements together.
Argyle:my go-to game when I
Argyle:by myself
Argyle:that's part of the problem I guess
Gamemaster:If you say so.
Argyle:so I'll start working on a Smurf
Argyle:unless
Gamemaster:I'm just going to do my placements not with you.
Argyle:I
Gamemaster:And that should help.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Like, I assume.
Argyle:Well we make sure you if it makes you feel any better
Benny:You don have to say it like that to him So we don say like not with you
Gamemaster:What No it is his fault He better than I am So when I have to fight people at his skill level I worse than normal
Argyle:we fight people at the midpoint
Gamemaster:I'm not going to do it with you either, Mike.
Argyle:of the skit level
Argyle:oh I thought it was average
Gamemaster:That's not true. That's not how it works.
Argyle:oops
Gamemaster:No, it's actually on the upper range of who you would be put against.
Argyle:very nice
Gamemaster:yeah no it is it is just objectively worse for mike and i to be with you during placement
Argyle:Okay.
Johnny:I'm good
Gamemaster:matches specifically um but it'll be fine we'll we'll do it
Gamemaster:how are you doing noah
Gamemaster:You would
Johnny:I'm meal prepping at the same time we're doing this
Gamemaster:Needing to eat food
Gamemaster:Lame
Gamemaster:What you meal prepping?
Johnny:I
Johnny:yeah I haven't evolved back yet
Johnny:I'm working on it but
Johnny:I haven't gotten there.
Argyle:Oh.
Johnny:We're doing some
Johnny:chicken satay.
Gamemaster:That's fun
Johnny:Steaming some veggies.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:Sautéing some veggies.
Johnny:Cutting some chicken.
Johnny:Already made some rice.
Johnny:When I, during COVID,
Johnny:I bought a bunch of cookbooks.
Johnny:I was like, this is my time. I'm really going to up my cooking game.
Johnny:And I was like, I want to know how to make
Johnny:a good pot of rice. It's something I never could do.
Johnny:I never figured it out.
Johnny:I got a bunch of Asian cookbooks
Argyle:well that's because you looked at the wrong culture
Johnny:from a couple different chefs
Johnny:there's got to be a key in here
Johnny:every single one said buy a rice cooker
Argyle:Asians use rice cookers
Gamemaster:But like, why would you?
Argyle:Hispanics make it by hand
Argyle:the few people that still make rice by hand
Argyle:I think there's like a subset of Japanese folks
Argyle:that's about it
Argyle:because it tastes better
Gamemaster:Rice cookers are super cheap
Argyle:yeah but they taste better if you do it
Gamemaster:and they're very good at making rice.
Johnny:yeah
Gamemaster:I thoroughly don believe you you you Yeah but I had
Johnny:I disagree I tried it both ways and rice cookers do the exact same thing
Argyle:Well also I don know if I should say no offense here but you guys are white so
Argyle:you guys didn't have good home cooked rice
Argyle:no offense I'm guessing
Argyle:oh and for context when I was
Johnny:Hey, my Jewish mom, my Jewish mom tried her best.
Gamemaster:My, yeah, no, I...
Argyle:debating no offense I was like
Gamemaster:Well, no, I'm not saying, oh yeah, my Nona used to make the best rice out of the rice cooker or whatever.
Argyle:well kind of offense if you would try to insult the rice
Argyle:that's the what I was debating there
Argyle:yeah
Benny:Shout out.
Johnny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Like, the rice I grew up on was Uncle Ben's instant already cooked minute rice.
Argyle:It's completely different.
Gamemaster:That's not what I'm comparing it to.
Gamemaster:I'm saying that, like, what improvement do you...
Gamemaster:I would be interested in doing a blind taste test between handmade rice and rice cooker rice.
Gamemaster:Because I just...
Gamemaster:I don't see what you could be introducing in the hand-making process.
Benny:A love.
Johnny:germs
Anzu:Sounds like you're using a rice cooker wrong.
Argyle:The rice kernels have a better...
Johnny:extra germs
Argyle:Rice kernels have a better texture.
Johnny:what changes it?
Gamemaster:How?
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:When you use it in a rice cooker,
Gamemaster:It sounds like...
Argyle:they get really, really soft, and they explode.
Argyle:But if you do it the right way,
Argyle:they have a better bite to it.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:it just sounds like you're using a rice cooker
Argyle:No, no.
Argyle:If you make rice by hand...
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:the best visual
Argyle:well they also that's because that's sushi rice that's different
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:some of the best sushi restaurants in the world
Anzu:Oh, jeez.
Johnny:use a rice cooker to make rice
Johnny:wait so what kind of rice are you talking about
Argyle:i also i also assume you're not making sushi rice so do you guys make sushi rice
Johnny:I do make sushi rice
Argyle:how do you make okay how do you make the sushi rice then
Gamemaster:I've made...
Johnny:I didn't today but I have
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:you make regular white rice
Johnny:made sushi rice
Johnny:I wash it
Argyle:wrong first of all already wrong first of all already wrong
Johnny:oh no I use sushi rice
Gamemaster:you add in
Johnny:that's the wrong answer
Gamemaster:sushi rice
Johnny:I'm sorry Josh
Gamemaster:sushi rice is white rice but with
Johnny:there is a different
Argyle:First of all, different kernel of rice altogether.
Gamemaster:like sweet mirin
Gamemaster:and rice vinegar in it
Gamemaster:I still want to know what you're doing when you make the race by hand that's different.
Argyle:This is like.
Johnny:kernel of rice. It is a
Johnny:different kind of rice. There is specific sushi rice. You buy
Johnny:it, you wash it, and then
Argyle:Yeah, you guys are.
Johnny:you do the whole...
Johnny:You buy it, you wash it,
Johnny:you stick it in the rice cooker, then while you're doing that
Johnny:you get a piece of kombu, you get some sugar,
Johnny:some salt, some mirin, some sake,
Johnny:you don't boil it, you bring it to
Johnny:a simmer,
Johnny:and then once
Johnny:everything cools down, you mix it together.
Johnny:Sushi rice.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Like, what are you doing? Assuming that you're using the same kind of rice in both.
Argyle:First of all, you use oil.
Johnny:Oh, that's totally different.
Anzu:Uh-oh.
Argyle:First of all, you use oil.
Argyle:That's one thing.
Johnny:That's a fully different thing now.
Gamemaster:Yeah. That's, you're just, you're making a different thing.
Argyle:No, no, that's white rice.
Johnny:We're talking about playing race.
Johnny:That's a different dish.
Argyle:No, no, no, it's not.
Gamemaster:Yes, it is.
Argyle:Are you...
Gamemaster:no no no that's not what we're saying you're saying you're saying that a rice cooker is worse
Argyle:Wait, so just to get this straight.
Argyle:You guys are explaining my culture,
Argyle:who also has white rice,
Johnny:Wait.
Argyle:just because you only know Asian culture.
Anzu:Oh, shit.
Argyle:That's what's happening right now.
Johnny:No, we're talking about...
Argyle:No, so then explain to me how it's a different thing.
Johnny:No, because...
Argyle:No. Yes. Yes. First of all, some people use oil in rice cooker rice. It still changes it.
Benny:Makes it delicious.
Johnny:okay i was talking about just like straight rice into a rice cooker with water i was not
Gamemaster:than handmade rice and your reason for that is that there are different ingredients used in
Gamemaster:handmade rice. That is a different dish.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:talking about using oil or any or any extra seasonings
Argyle:But still, what I'm saying is like you still put in – there's other cultures that make rice besides Asian people.
Johnny:yeah
Argyle:And a lot of them, if not all of them, use pots and oil.
Johnny:most cultures
Anzu:Okay.
Johnny:but
Argyle:That's a thing.
Argyle:Go to anywhere in Africa, anywhere in the Caribbean, anywhere in South America, that's what people do.
Gamemaster:I... I still feel like we're talking about different recipes. Yeah.
Johnny:but
Argyle:No.
Argyle:What I saying is there better white rice than rice makers uh makers
Gamemaster:No what you were saying is that handmade rice is better than all rice makers That a blanket statement But besides that
Argyle:I'll talk about white rice.
Argyle:I'm pretty sure I said the other thing
Gamemaster:Yeah, I know.
Argyle:and we checked the logs, but.
Gamemaster:Yeah, we can go back and check the transcript.
Gamemaster:Like, the claim was that rice makers don't make as good rice as homemade, like, handmade rices, and I quibble with that.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Agreed.
Argyle:Agreed.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:No, 100% of all Asian people use rice makers.
Argyle:Which is why I just said Asian people use the rice makers from the beginning.
Benny:I wouldn't generalize it like that.
Johnny:I think you're getting into like a cultural norm thing of where like, oh, people who grew up with a rice cooker are more likely to use a rice cooker versus people who grew up without a rice cooker.
Johnny:I don't know if you guys hear my rice cooker, but I'm more likely to not use a rice cooker.
Argyle:I've been saying this.
Argyle:And then you guys were explaining that.
Argyle:What were you saying, Mike?
Benny:I wouldn't.
Benny:Dude, not all Asian people use rice makers.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:I've never seen it.
Gamemaster:They're born with one.
Johnny:Every issue.
Gamemaster:That's how that works.
Johnny:Yeah.
Benny:I'm going to write this down.
Johnny:Every Asian person gets one rice cooker.
Anzu:Well, this has been really informative.
Johnny:That's their birth gift.
Johnny:Everyone in the U.S. gets a social security number.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:Everyone in every Asian country gets a rice cooker.
Gamemaster:And weirdly enough, you're not supposed to laminate those either.
Gamemaster:It's crazy.
Johnny:I want to know if someone would laminate a rice cooker.
Gamemaster:Hmm.
Gamemaster:It's good to reference.
Gamemaster:I get it.
Gamemaster:Do we?
Argyle:Wait, one final thing.
Benny:There's smoke and pot.
Johnny:Oh, on the subject of...
Anzu:Oh, you guys are in trouble.
Gamemaster:Oh.
Johnny:I have something to...
Argyle:Three Michelin star Japanese restaurants tend to also use a pot, not a rice maker.
Argyle:They use, which also goes back to say when I said most Asians besides the super high-end Japanese, and they have, they're usually clay pots.
Johnny:Oh, there's smoke in pot.
Gamemaster:Yeah Yeah
Argyle:you you know what i said what i said the beginning was mostly i said asians use it besides the high
Johnny:just balderstude I don know but then that that kind of like contrapositive to the generalization that all non use a rice cooker too i i don think every person
Anzu:Yeah for sure Yeah
Argyle:end japanese and then also if you go to caribbean countries or african countries or south american
Argyle:countries nine ninety nine times out of ten you're gonna see a pot people can't afford the rice
Argyle:covers.
Benny:What a shit way to avoid this heated discussion.
Johnny:That, okay, but that right there, people can't afford the rice cooker.
Anzu:well I forgot my adapter downstairs so I'm gonna go for a minute
Johnny:Okay.
Johnny:Anyway, on the subject of rice cookers, I'm coming into New York at the end of this month.
Argyle:Yeah.
Johnny:I believe, I hope I told you guys that.
Argyle:yeah it'd be fun
Johnny:What day, I have to check my, I think what time it is, but I can send you guys the dates again.
Johnny:But I would like to play D&D while I'm there, if that still works for everybody.
Argyle:just give us the dates
Benny:If it was made in a glass of water cooker.
Johnny:Cool. Let me just double check.
Johnny:Yeah, I will send those as soon as I am not cutting chicken.
Johnny:I guess it depends on
Argyle:I could grab a glass of water
Benny:Have those.
Johnny:I guess it depends on if it's the Asian
Johnny:lack of water or not
Benny:yeah yeah have you guys had sticky water
Gamemaster:yeah that's fair oh no who left
Benny:it's a non-sequitur it's just the one just the one
Johnny:I want to know what comes next in that joke
Johnny:The real Mitch Hedberg joke
Benny:bro that's so funny that's so funny i think that's so stupid it's so funny
Benny:guys guys I gotta go get my charger and then he leaves and his fucking computer turns off Did your computer run out of battery
Anzu:you No I went to get my adapter
Benny:Doesn't matter.
Benny:That's how it played out in my head.
Anzu:And then I switched.
Benny:Guys, my computer's on 1%!
Benny:And then you leave and it leaves the call.
Anzu:No, I had joined on my desktop, my PC.
Anzu:But my laptop is the one with the camera.
Anzu:and that requires an adapter to use my headset.
Gamemaster:Lame.
Benny:No, no.
Johnny:Hang on, let me
Anzu:Does that all kind of track?
Johnny:I don't know, sounds fishy to me
Gamemaster:No.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it kind of sounds like your computer just died
Gamemaster:and now you're trying to cover up for it because you're embarrassed by it.
Benny:See, the way my...
Benny:It's like the Kevin Hart joke.
Benny:No, see, the way my bank account works.
Benny:It's only funny if you guys have heard the joke.
Benny:It's a very old Kevin Hart joke.
Benny:Where he's like, people will be like,
Benny:Oh, I have all this money.
Anzu:I don't know what this guy's talking about.
Benny:I have all this money.
Benny:second you break a fish tank at a bar it's just like well i mean you got money you can pay for
Argyle:I don't like that laugh on Mike's face.
Benny:it's like nah nah can you cover me see the way the way my checking account works is and then
Benny:you have to put into it's like i have to move it to savings before check like can you just cover me
Benny:let me just make it fun
Benny:you know my Kevin Hart joke where he goes
Gamemaster:What is Yom Kippur, Noah?
Argyle:no
Benny:see the way my bank account is set up
Benny:god damn it
Argyle:but I do know
Argyle:gun compartment
Argyle:oh she was actually funny
Benny:gun goodbye
Benny:I think this was a special before gun compartment
Benny:yeah yeah this is very old
Argyle:damn it I should know that one
Argyle:yeah
Benny:Kevin Hart
Benny:what
Gamemaster:Is it after you come?
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:I think it's right before.
Benny:what
Johnny:I think it's...
Gamemaster:It is the Monday before.
Argyle:Sorry, what's the date?
Benny:Okay.
Johnny:I think it's the Monday before I come.
Anzu:works for me as well
Johnny:I just sent it.
Johnny:I'm going to be in town the 26th and 27th.
Gamemaster:All right, that's fine.
Argyle:26th and 27th.
Gamemaster:Both of those dates work for me.
Argyle:Let me go check the calendar.
Johnny:Yeah.
Johnny:Yeah.
Anzu:this guy's about to come back and say sorry guys i'm i got plans that weekend
Anzu:I was about to say that I
Gamemaster:something he'd do.
Argyle:Yeah.
Johnny:It turned out exactly like I was hoping.
Gamemaster:Well, while he's...
Gamemaster:You were about to say something.
Anzu:really loved the
Anzu:concept for last week's
Anzu:one shot and I'm sad
Anzu:to have missed it
Argyle:26 works for me.
Gamemaster:Hmm.
Anzu:excellent
Argyle:let's if you got works for y'all
Anzu:Oh, that's tough.
Argyle:the
Gamemaster:Oh, actually, never mind.
Benny:26th.
Johnny:I'm actually in town on the 28th only now
Gamemaster:The 26th doesn't work for me anymore.
Gamemaster:Sorry.
Argyle:hmm
Johnny:I'll put that in
Gamemaster:Oh.
Argyle:what six
Gamemaster:I have work, then.
Johnny:I'll put the
Gamemaster:You can come around if you want.
Johnny:yeah I'm coming at your work Josh
Johnny:whoo
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Anzu:So we're going with the 26th.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Anzu:Um...
Argyle:We can do Tanner's house.
Anzu:Do we have a location?
Gamemaster:Yes Jorge home is closer to all of us but it also less spacious I don know how much room we need for activities if any
Benny:Thank you you I be screaming
Anzu:The location can be my home.
Anzu:I don't mind.
Anzu:Obviously, that's the most out of the way for everybody.
Anzu:So I recognize that aspect.
Anzu:But I will put that on the table.
Argyle:We can also do my house.
Argyle:Which might be.
Argyle:Central But it not a house We will have a
Anzu:you I do yes
Johnny:you Oh no it not you
Argyle:full table with chairs.
Gamemaster:Oh, Tanner, do you have a full table with chairs?
Anzu:And really, that's the only...
Argyle:Damn it, he does, and I've seen it.
Anzu:uh
Argyle:And there's Wayne's coding around the table, too.
Argyle:So, ugh.
Argyle:I don't have Wayne's coding.
Gamemaster:Wait, is it like the fancy kind or is it just squares in the wall?
Argyle:Wait, I think it's Wayne's coding.
Benny:It's a coding that's come out of Wayne.
Gamemaster:Oh.
Anzu:so it's sort of it's faux wainscoting uh the wall the bottom there's a there's a molding that
Argyle:Is it Wayne's coding or what's the millwork?
Gamemaster:A chair rail.
Benny:It's...
Argyle:What's the millwork, Tanner?
Gamemaster:Sure, traditional.
Argyle:Okay.
Benny:It's...
Gamemaster:a chair rail
Anzu:goes around the middle of the
Anzu:wall, like a couple feet.
Gamemaster:sure traditional
Anzu:Yes.
Gamemaster:I mean better than we have
Anzu:And underneath is painted white
Anzu:and there are squares,
Benny:Take a kick.
Johnny:You guys can come to my hotel room.
Anzu:but the base of it
Anzu:is just painted sheetrock.
Gamemaster:collectively
Gamemaster:the rest of us
Anzu:Oh no, that's for sure.
Gamemaster:how's the
Anzu:But
Anzu:come again?
Gamemaster:baseboard
Gamemaster:how's the baseboard
Gamemaster:I'm down to go to Tanner's
Anzu:Pretty normal, I think.
Gamemaster:if we all want to be out there
Argyle:Okay.
Benny:I could move a bunch of furniture around
Gamemaster:I don't actually
Gamemaster:I happen to be directly in between
Gamemaster:I think Tanner's and Jorge's
Gamemaster:so
Gamemaster:I think I have the least vote here
Anzu:I just feel bad for Mike, because I know it's hard for Mike to get out to me.
Anzu:So that's really...
Gamemaster:yeah
Benny:and force you guys to come to New Jersey.
Gamemaster:That is true.
Anzu:Well, I don't think we were saying that at all.
Benny:I would also have to buy several chairs.
Gamemaster:Yeah, do you have a table and chairs?
Benny:I have
Gamemaster:Because I think if you don that invalidates the whole deal Oh
Benny:I have more tables than chairs
Argyle:That checks out actually So
Anzu:That does check out I seen it yeah in the background
Benny:I have three chairs and I have five tables.
Gamemaster:Hey, if we're talking about...
Gamemaster:You could all come here.
Benny:I'll bring a table if you guys need it.
Gamemaster:I have a table and chairs
Gamemaster:as well, if we're talking about
Gamemaster:the quantity of seating
Gamemaster:and table arrangements.
Argyle:um
Benny:Where haven't we played?
Johnny:Hey, that's a lie.
Anzu:We played at my mom's house.
Argyle:we haven't yeah
Benny:We played at Jorge's old place.
Argyle:where where are you
Benny:We've played at...
Benny:Most of us have played at...
Benny:Okay.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Anzu:We've not played at my house.
Gamemaster:We have not played at anybody's current house.
Argyle:that's true
Benny:I'll host then.
Argyle:no no but you changed your house you changed your house you've there's been a facelift since
Johnny:We played at my house.
Gamemaster:Sorry, anybody in New York's house.
Anzu:...
Johnny:Okay.
Argyle:we've been there. So technically, it's slightly new.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:No, you guys were here last year.
Anzu:Yeah, no, wait.
Johnny:There was nothing.
Johnny:You guys came after the remodel.
Argyle:I thought you changed the kitchen.
Johnny:It was last year.
Argyle:I thought you changed the kitchen.
Johnny:No.
Johnny:No, I did not.
Anzu:The kitchen was already changed by then.
Argyle:I was going to say, it was a really nice kitchen.
Anzu:I remember because...
Argyle:It was crazy you changed it.
Johnny:No.
Johnny:That was after the remodel.
Argyle:To me, like, I guess in Colorado,
Argyle:they just, you guys just, ah, it's trash.
Argyle:I don't know. I think it's a nice kitchen.
Johnny:No, this was the remodel.
Anzu:...
Johnny:That was the remodel kitchen you guys saw.
Argyle:All right, all right, all right, all right.
Argyle:I don't.
Argyle:So, Noah, where are you staying?
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:And then also, I assume Daisy's with you.
Benny:It's right next to the Port Authority bus stop.
Johnny:I'm staying like right next to
Argyle:Is.
Argyle:Does that change anything?
Johnny:oh hang on
Johnny:one sec I'll just send the address you guys know New York better than I do
Argyle:Is this Brooklyn?
Argyle:he's at the tunnel
Benny:we should go to Mike because New Jersey is better than the Port Authority bus stop
Johnny:yeah I'm staying at the
Johnny:portatory bus stop
Johnny:uh
Gamemaster:Nice.
Gamemaster:So then we should be going to Mike's.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:That's the closest.
Gamemaster:Yeah I mean technically true but that a really low bar oh oh sure
Argyle:Oh, that's actually, yeah, that's near my work.
Johnny:I staying right here I close to a train
Johnny:...
Johnny:...
Gamemaster:we should probably go to Jorge's i think Jorge is closest to that like i it might
Johnny:...
Johnny:...
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:be a little bit of a pain for you to get out to tanner's uh same as mike
Johnny:...
Gamemaster:yeah
Argyle:I think I would need to drive Mike and Noah.
Johnny:...
Johnny:...
Gamemaster:I just like in general
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:but then potentially Daisy and then
Johnny:Oh, Daisy's going to do her own thing that day.
Anzu:No, I think that makes the most sense.
Argyle:yeah
Argyle:okay sounds good
Gamemaster:it
Gamemaster:it would take a bit more driving
Gamemaster:you can use public transit for everybody
Gamemaster:except for Tanner to get to Jorge's
Gamemaster:apartment
Gamemaster:so
Argyle:there we go
Gamemaster:Tanner do you mind that we're relegating you to
Gamemaster:driving instead
Gamemaster:He doesn't need to get drunk for that.
Argyle:That's true.
Benny:It means you can't get drunk and say racially insensitive things like you normally do.
Johnny:you can only say race lane
Benny:Okay, so you can't get drunk.
Gamemaster:We won't have Craig recording, so, you know.
Johnny:oh we're gonna lose
Benny:Oh, God, I fear what Tanner will say without Craig recording.
Johnny:we're gonna lose
Johnny:the whole big session without any
Johnny:recording
Johnny:oh
Gamemaster:I will...
Gamemaster:I'll bring a mic.
Gamemaster:No, no, that actually is twice the size of my head.
Benny:It's huge.
Benny:What the fuck?
Johnny:Oh.
Benny:It's like double the size of your head.
Benny:He like pulls it back
Anzu:Mike is just learning about perspective now.
Anzu:Oh.
Gamemaster:He was right.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:It's like two basketballs
Benny:It's a true omnidirectional
Benny:Yeah I want them to hear me in the kitchen
Benny:But I'm on like a work call
Gamemaster:Every single person that has ever entered my apartment for any reason has asked if I'm
Gamemaster:a streamer because of this mic, which is funny because I use it for literally nothing but
Gamemaster:but D&D and playing video games on Discord,
Argyle:I think you'd be a successful streamer,
Benny:every time we're in uh we're in whatever fucking every time i know you're alone
Gamemaster:which is good.
Argyle:especially if you played horror games.
Gamemaster:Why? Because I'd be terrified of them the whole time?
Gamemaster:That doesn't sound like a good time for anyone.
Argyle:Mike, it's true, though.
Argyle:It's true.
Argyle:i i would love to be friends with the streamer like if one of you guys became streamers and
Benny:in Lethal Company.
Benny:I'm like, oh, fuck, we left Josh alone.
Benny:I expect that you're
Gamemaster:Like, one of the people that's just in their videos that they play with, but isn't, you know...
Benny:in some bullshit.
Argyle:then just become a personality that hops on because you either becomes yeah it'd be so fun
Gamemaster:
Gamemaster:...
Argyle:to either be loved or despised
Argyle:and no, it doesn't make a difference.
Argyle:Like, I think it's so funny when
Argyle:streamers have a friend that everyone hates
Argyle:but they just keep streaming because they're
Gamemaster:...
Benny:Or like the chat gets sick of the normal streamers
Argyle:just actual friends. And the
Argyle:people are like, that guy's the fucking worst.
Argyle:He's so bad at the game.
Argyle:I think it's so funny.
Anzu:yeah i got killed pretty uh
Benny:and you're like, oh, by the way, Bob's joining us.
Benny:Everyone's like, Bob, oh, fuck.
Benny:And then Bob's reading like, yo, I'm going to roll up.
Benny:I'm going to say five funny things
Gamemaster:constantly yeah he was the worst
Benny:and then I'll be back in like a month.
Argyle:Tanner was also extremely unlucky in Lethal Company
Argyle:I just wanted to call that out Noah
Johnny:oh no
Anzu:rapidly pretty frequently.
Johnny:I'm sorry Tennis
Gamemaster:he got killed
Johnny:oh I'm sorry Tennis
Benny:You get killed by the worm you get killed by the bracken you got bracken
Johnny:oh no
Anzu:Yep.
Argyle:Brian loved him
Argyle:a meteor killed him right
Gamemaster:he got killed by the animatronics
Anzu:I got bragged, I think, twice.
Gamemaster:outside you did get bracken twice
Gamemaster:yeah we didn't even know that was
Johnny:oh my god
Benny:Did the coil head get you
Argyle:worms that we didn know existed
Anzu:Oh, I got slammed by a meteor.
Anzu:Yeah, that was tough.
Anzu:it it It a bit
Gamemaster:possible
Benny:Did you make it past the Giant robots Oh probably We played it
Johnny:so Did they just invent new ways to kill Tanner just for the skin
Gamemaster:basically yeah we played a modded version and he found out new ways that we weren
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:– that any time a new thing would happen that killed him, that would be news to us
Gamemaster:that that was a way to die, and so we would avoid it.
Johnny:oh that's fun
Gamemaster:Um, a lot of us.
Benny:Who died to the bird?
Gamemaster:Jorge did first and then I did.
Benny:I know.
Johnny:Wait, was it a big worm?
Anzu:I died to the worm running from the bird.
Gamemaster:I think Tanner might have- Tanner, did you survive the bird?
Gamemaster:Oh, right, of course.
Benny:Right.
Benny:I was the only one who survived.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it was a shyhaluid, it was a dune worm.
Johnny:Was it a big worm or a little worm?
Benny:Yeah, like a dune worm.
Johnny:Okay, okay.
Gamemaster:Yeah, there was just an earthworm, he slipped on it.
Johnny:Wasn't it like one little worm?
Benny:Yeah.
Johnny:Okay.
Benny:I was the only one who survived.
Benny:That's, well, I don't know.
Benny:What are they called?
Gamemaster:Drop bears.
Benny:The sand fleas or whatever?
Benny:Jump fleas? Drop fleas?
Johnny:Drop bears.
Anzu:Yeah.
Benny:Eat fleas?
Benny:The drop bears.
Johnny:Drop bears.
Benny:One of the drop bears killed me,
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Benny:and that's like a...
Benny:It's kind of worm-sized, if worms were
Benny:400 times the size of a normal worm.
Johnny:Yeah, one side.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Do we want to play some Pathfinder?
Benny:Yes.
Gamemaster:Okay, there are two mythic points up for grabs here.
Benny:Yes.
Johnny:Yeah.
Argyle:I want the first one.
Anzu:He wants to do the first one.
Gamemaster:One for letting us know what's going on on Earth with a U, and the other for what's going
Gamemaster:on on the Strider in Færrin.
Gamemaster:Why are you shaking your head?
Gamemaster:Oh, okay, Jorge can do the first one.
Anzu:...
Anzu:...
Gamemaster:Yeah, what's going on on Earth?
Argyle:Checker first.
Argyle:Great.
Argyle:Fake Disney Pixar decides they're going to make a new thing.
Gamemaster:What was it? Pisney Dixart?
Argyle:So they took three.
Argyle:Pixie Dix are Yeah So they decided to have a casting call for three characters
Benny:Disney and Dixar Disney and Dixar
Johnny:Disney I think it was Disney and Pixar
Anzu:you without discussing I assume
Gamemaster:Yeah Bisney Dixart Yeah Disney dicks are
Argyle:Normally you would have thought, Tanner, that people would pick three heroes.
Argyle:We picked three villains.
Argyle:There was...
Johnny:...
Argyle:No, no, we discussed.
Anzu:oh okay never mind
Gamemaster:No, we colluded.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:We colluded.
Gamemaster:That was the only thing we colluded on.
Argyle:Um...
Gamemaster:We did not collude on, like, class selection or anything like that.
Gamemaster:We were all just like, let's all be villains.
Gamemaster:Because that's fun.
Argyle:I was Hades the Necromancer.
Benny:You'll stand.
Johnny:Knock off.
Anzu:Gaston is a great pick, by the way.
Argyle:Josh was...
Argyle:Not a Necromancer.
Gamemaster:Gaston.
Argyle:Gaston.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:And a...
Johnny:Knock off.
Anzu:Of course.
Gamemaster:It was a good time.
Argyle:Monk?
Johnny:It's on.
Argyle:No, no, that was Brian.
Gamemaster:He was a commander.
Gamemaster:Brian is not a character
Argyle:He was a commander.
Argyle:Mike was Brian.
Argyle:And he was a monk.
Argyle:Fuck.
Gamemaster:from any Disney thing
Argyle:So we.
Benny:It's not readily accessible.
Gamemaster:the name comes as a pun
Gamemaster:from the actual animated short
Gamemaster:Runaway Brain
Gamemaster:so he made his name
Gamemaster:Runway Brian
Gamemaster:none of us were
Anzu:I'm actually not really familiar with runaway brain.
Anzu:Fascinating.
Argyle:It's a deep cut.
Gamemaster:I don't know how Mike found it
Benny:It was actually a short that Disney tried to shelve and have hidden for some amount of time.
Argyle:That's why that's why Mike knows about it.
Argyle:digs in the archives right next to the floating brains.
Johnny:It was the island city of Afro-Eurasia, I think.
Argyle:So we left.
Argyle:We decided we need to navigate from our first plane.
Argyle:It was a little island city, I think.
Argyle:We need to sail a boat somewhere else.
Argyle:Our navigator.
Gamemaster:We had to cross the ocean I think is the initial bit of this
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Our survival check did not work well.
Argyle:But luckily our underworld lore check was a crit 36 Because you know how the dead their souls go through a river and someone there that what we justified it bingo bongo yep
Gamemaster:That's why we were making checks for boats, is because we were on an island and we were trying to go somewhere else.
Argyle:we land we navigate um we have a fun lot of montage very uh
Argyle:how should i describe this just disney-esque montage just becoming friends running away
Gamemaster:Jafar and Scar from The Lion King merged together.
Benny:Mm-hmm.
Johnny:this car yeah
Argyle:things like that we go into a burial ground where they asked us a riddle three we got it
Argyle:very very quickly it turns out there was no wrong answer we were just very confident
Argyle:we go in we fight a genie just just scar
Argyle:jaskar lion genie guy from aladdin and uh the lion king
Argyle:he thought he was good at reanimating things turns out hades was better
Anzu:haha
Argyle:we killed him we used his lamp to wish to jump to our objective no it didn't expect us to be
Anzu:hey
Argyle:that clever but we did the objective was a mirror that we needed we went to find the mirror there
Argyle:was a hydra with a bunch of disney princesses and buzz lightyear we beat the fuck out of it
Argyle:and then we walked through the mirror and it turns out it was a portal to the real world
Gamemaster:I think, Jorge, you're still going to get the mythic point,
Anzu:Right.
Argyle:and that was our story
Gamemaster:but I think you missed the initial setup for the one-shot,
Gamemaster:which was that Disney was trying to make a new movie off of existing IP,
Argyle:Uh-huh.
Gamemaster:so they chucked an AI at it,
Gamemaster:and we were playing what the AI had created,
Gamemaster:and eventually we escaped into the real world.
Anzu:Amazing.
Anzu:Yes, I saw the
Anzu:picture for the
Gamemaster:Did you?
Argyle:It was.
Johnny:Wait, did you see the first Hydra or the second Hydra?
Anzu:hydra um i did hop into the shmepi uh briefly when that uh link was sent in uh
Anzu:i'm not sure
Johnny:Did you see the live-action Hydra or the regular Hydra?
Anzu:oh I saw the Disney character one
Gamemaster:You would have noticed.
Gamemaster:The Hydra either looked like Disney characters or some terrifying, like, abomination with
Johnny:Okay.
Gamemaster:human-like features.
Anzu:like the shmeppy went out at
Anzu:9.43 and that's when I
Anzu:oh no I did not see that
Gamemaster:It was a good time.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:I do that.
Johnny:That was the live action remake.
Anzu:oh no
Anzu:oh
Gamemaster:We found out that there's pretty good synergy
Gamemaster:between the commander and the necromancer,
Anzu:Did I do that?
Gamemaster:which is a fun time.
Gamemaster:The commander is a funky class.
Gamemaster:Did you play commander?
Anzu:Is that the armor one?
Gamemaster:No, are you thinking of the Guardian?
Argyle:That's Guardian.
Johnny:No.
Anzu:Or...
Anzu:I am. Yeah.
Gamemaster:The commanders, the other one that came out in that expansion, they're the warlord.
Gamemaster:They're like, hey, you guys do this thing, you two do that thing, whatever.
Gamemaster:I think it's a fun class to play.
Gamemaster:You just don't play a lot.
Gamemaster:It's the time, all of your actions are entirely dominated by using tactics to let your friends do more stuff.
Anzu:Uh-huh.
Gamemaster:Which is fun, but it meant that I think I actually swung my sword once over the course of two encounters.
Gamemaster:which was interesting
Argyle:but I think you gave a bonus of like
Johnny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:yeah no no no
Argyle:25 swings in total
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:it's an absolute force multiplier
Gamemaster:of all of these guys get to go instead
Gamemaster:it was like I'm not complaining about it
Gamemaster:I just think it's an interesting class to play
Gamemaster:because you feel like a much less active participant
Anzu:interesting
Gamemaster:if that makes sense
Gamemaster:but anyway that was a good time
Anzu:yeah yeah
Gamemaster:you get a mythic point
Gamemaster:thank you for running that one shot Noah I sure when we get back to earth in some undetermined date in the future everything will be fine Everywhere
Argyle:Can I ask you a quick question Tanner
Anzu:like the original character
Argyle:Do you think Hades could teleport?
Gamemaster:Mmm.
Anzu:like
Argyle:That one and Disney, if you think it's okay to split it up.
Argyle:What are your thoughts?
Gamemaster:Okay. Oh, sorry.
Argyle:maybe it's like a from uh rick reardon's like he could teleport through shadows you know that
Anzu:probably
Anzu:to some degree
Anzu:I feel like there's some kind of
Anzu:underworld traversal
Anzu:kind of thing that
Argyle:shadow travel you guys read this book
Gamemaster:The point of contention here, and I admit I was wrong for the Disney IP,
Argyle:I told myself no
Gamemaster:was at the very, very beginning of the one-shot,
Gamemaster:Jorge is like, I'm Hades, can't I just snap my fingers and teleport us to the MacGuffin at the end of the quest?
Gamemaster:And then he gets told no, obviously.
Gamemaster:And then over the course of the, yeah, sure, over the course of the campaign it comes up again of,
Argyle:to be fair
Gamemaster:Genie, I wish to be able to teleport like Hades can.
Gamemaster:And I was very confused because I didn't think that was a thing that Hades could do.
Argyle:okay
Argyle:Yeah.
Anzu:I'm on mute.
Gamemaster:I was very confident that's not a thing Hades could do because it's like a big part of his mythology that he can't leave the underworld.
Gamemaster:So I would not have assumed that, like, Hades just has a 9th level teleport.
Gamemaster:That said, I was disproven with receipts.
Gamemaster:Jorge did find a clip of specifically Disney's Hades in Mount Olympus and then, like, puffing
Gamemaster:into smoke.
Gamemaster:So, we were playing Disney characters.
Gamemaster:That's fine.
Gamemaster:Whatever.
Argyle:no no it's completely fair
Anzu:that because you off Hades
Gamemaster:I just, in general, I am confused by Hades being able to teleport.
Argyle:it started with me being like
Gamemaster:That just doesn't feel like something you should be able to do.
Gamemaster:um Yeah
Argyle:well I teleport us there
Argyle:why doesn't this work
Argyle:yes and then the genie wish wish was uh let me let me teleport places
Johnny:Thank you I mean from the one on Earth
Argyle:which is totally going to be a problem if we ever run into hades in the future
Anzu:Excellent.
Anzu:All right.
Argyle:because now he's going to actually have a ninth level
Anzu:Hmm.
Argyle:No.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:we did bring
Johnny:you've produced some of the more powerful characters
Johnny:that aren't just straight-up gods on Earth.
Gamemaster:we brought
Gamemaster:uh
Benny:but how many
Johnny:Yeah, King Arthur came back and trunced his first sword.
Anzu:How's that?
Gamemaster:uh
Gamemaster:King Arthur back
Gamemaster:didn't we
Gamemaster:a while ago
Anzu:Hmm.
Gamemaster:right
Johnny:The first knight of the new round table.
Gamemaster:of course
Gamemaster:and I know that we had
Gamemaster:confirmed that
Gamemaster:Lich Jesus was canon
Gamemaster:so he's running around
Gamemaster:doing stuff as well
Gamemaster:um
Johnny:Lich Jesus is canon.
Gamemaster:uh we did
Benny:how many one shots have we done on earth
Argyle:City in yellow.
Benny:just
Johnny:There was that one.
Benny:the cult leader
Gamemaster:yeah we did the two King Arthur ones
Johnny:oh there was one
Gamemaster:uh we did half of the get sucked into a movie one
Gamemaster:um
Gamemaster:we did the Disney one
Anzu:I don't know if I played it that one.
Johnny:and then there was one where you guys fought
Gamemaster:oh right in California
Johnny:what's his name the cult leader
Johnny:yeah
Gamemaster:what's his face
Gamemaster:god what is his name
Johnny:oh
Gamemaster:yeah there was we went to something ranch
Johnny:yes Charles Manson
Benny:Charles Manson
Benny:and
Benny:Bonritch
Gamemaster:whatever the name of the ranch was
Johnny:you guys fought Charles Manson
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:we went there and we beat him up
Argyle:there was a city in yellow
Gamemaster:yeah
Gamemaster:we both borrowed from the same
Johnny:I
Anzu:I don't know.
Argyle:maybe you were the reason we did the one shot
Johnny:yeah
Johnny:I think you might have been out
Johnny:and there was Charles Manson was like trying to summon
Anzu:Hmm.
Johnny:the king in yellow
Johnny:which was before we knew about the city in yellow
Johnny:and the deep
Johnny:because of Carcosa
Gamemaster:source so it makes sense
Gamemaster:plus Carcosa is canonically
Gamemaster:in the Pathfinder setting
Gamemaster:that's why France is in the Pathfinder setting
Gamemaster:so
Gamemaster:yes
Johnny:as it turns out me and Jock read a lot of the same literature
Gamemaster:it happens
Johnny:Thank you Dr yeah uh last time on iconoclasm uh we had an all hands meeting with everyone in the compact or
Gamemaster:but yeah anyway good recap you get a mythic point and then Noah did you want to do the other one Was that why your hand was raised
Johnny:whatever we're calling ourselves uh they came over they were like should we be afraid and we
Johnny:were like probably but this was not our fault and they were like so you don't know how this happened
Johnny:we were like nope we all gotta work together
Argyle:Next.
Johnny:and we told him we were gonna go meet Grayson
Johnny:because Grayson sent over a messenger
Johnny:and was like please meet us
Johnny:okay
Johnny:so we went over with a couple other folks
Johnny:met with him
Johnny:turns out Grayson
Johnny:not up on it
Johnny:not who we thought he was
Johnny:he just
Johnny:turns out he's just
Johnny:kind of a rich dude doesn't really know what's going on
Johnny:but
Johnny:head priest of the pope and
Johnny:Mokup
Johnny:they know what's up, they know what's happening
Johnny:so we have a tentative alliance with them
Johnny:we are sort of working with them
Johnny:then we went back outside
Johnny:we gotta get this thing started again
Johnny:we gotta figure out how to get up and
Johnny:get the controls working again
Johnny:because they're way above
Johnny:so Anzu went, I'll do it, he went up, flew up
Johnny:looked in there, couldn't figure out a way in
Johnny:while that was happening we saw a glint of some sort of metal
Johnny:ran over and were like, who are you?
Gamemaster:Yeah, that's about accurate.
Johnny:and Egan was like, who are you guys?
Johnny:we then met Egan, who was the singer of the
Johnny:Herald song
Johnny:he was a Herald guy who'd been brainwashed
Johnny:he was like, please help me, also I know Galzu
Johnny:and so now we're experimenting on his brain
Gamemaster:Um
Gamemaster:Yeah, so where we left off
Gamemaster:last session, the four
Gamemaster:of you had done a little bit of spelunking
Gamemaster:into Egan's
Gamemaster:mind in an attempt to help rid him, or at least more permanently seal away the bits of the Herald
Gamemaster:song still bouncing around in his head, and you all found yourselves transported into his minescape,
Gamemaster:which would be a location that is not familiar to any of you except for Egan himself. It is a
Gamemaster:pirate's outpost out in Lurantris, which is effectively made of a number of pirate ships
Gamemaster:all stacked on top of each other on a rock,
Gamemaster:forming this kind of half-temporary trading post,
Gamemaster:refueling area, all of that kind of stuff.
Gamemaster:Egan would be familiar with this particular date
Gamemaster:that is being represented in this memory
Gamemaster:because it is the exact moment that he found the necklace
Gamemaster:that led him to first hear the Herald song.
Gamemaster:It is this whalebone necklace carved into, at this point for you guys, a pretty familiar symbol of this curved horn that you would understand to be related in some way to the Herald himself.
Gamemaster:So you've all been brought onto this ship.
Gamemaster:You can see in front of you there is Egan, currently his attention being supernaturally drawn to the necklace itself.
Gamemaster:But I have had a little bit of time to actually flesh out the rest of the map at this point.
Gamemaster:You're all welcome to position yourselves within the green area.
Gamemaster:but
Gamemaster:aboard this ship are a number of
Gamemaster:other what look to be
Gamemaster:at first glance pirates but you can see that they are
Gamemaster:semi-translucent
Gamemaster:you can see a little bit
Gamemaster:through them and they wave
Gamemaster:a little bit almost as if heat waves
Gamemaster:are between you and where they are
Gamemaster:their form kind of just shifts in this almost dreamlike state as well as there Egan facing on a table this whalebone
Gamemaster:horned necklace, and there is an obvious magical energy coming out of the necklace,
Gamemaster:grabbing onto Egan and forcing his attention into it. He is currently enraptured by it.
Gamemaster:nothing is immediately hostile towards you as you show up in this memory, but I think without
Gamemaster:a check required, you can know that the Herald Song will not let Egan go peacefully, if that
Gamemaster:makes sense. So we are going to start, I think, just so we have a handle on it, with everybody
Gamemaster:rolling initiative as they please, just so we know in what order people are doing things.
Gamemaster:And I will pick a slightly more upbeat song.
Anzu:I'm struggling a little bit to load Foundry,
Gamemaster:This is more upbeat.
Gamemaster:Oh no.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Anzu:so I'm going to roll in the Dice channel for now.
Gamemaster:I'm sorry, I don't know why you have such persistent problems with Foundry.
Gamemaster:I don't know like what...
Anzu:It doesn't make any sense.
Gamemaster:Is it always on the same computer?
Anzu:Yes.
Gamemaster:Where is this Victor's wreath coming from?
Anzu:So there could be something there for sure.
Johnny:Oh, that's from me.
Anzu:I got a 20
Gamemaster:That's fun.
Johnny:That's from, that's what I took at ninth level.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Nice.
Anzu:Oh and it's loaded
Gamemaster:You got a 20, Azu?
Anzu:Great
Anzu:Yeah I won't roll again
Gamemaster:I updated you You are at 20 Okay Absolutely So we will actually start with as you jump in here Benny is there anything you wanted to do
Anzu:I'll just keep that
Benny:you I think Benny is going to
Benny:Benny's going to draw some weapons
Benny:How do I sheath this?
Gamemaster:Of course.
Benny:with all of the fanfare of taking his falcata out,
Benny:splitting it into two falcatas,
Benny:and then making one of the falcatas a...
Benny:Oh, wait, this is a butterfly sword? Hold on.
Benny:Turning one of them into a hook sword.
Gamemaster:Yeah, absolutely.
Benny:And he'll just sort of chill.
Benny:Does this not have...
Benny:Oh, because it's advanced, it doesn't have my...
Benny:I will try to edit it.
Gamemaster:Oh, right. For whatever reason, Foundry isn't giving you advanced in swords, so I've just been going in for each of the weapons as you pull it out, and adjusting them to be martial instead, in the stats.
Argyle:So does our guy,
Benny:Done.
Gamemaster:And then that should just give you the correct bonus.
Benny:Yeah, then Benny will chill.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Argyle, is there anything you wanted to do?
Argyle:our new friend.
Gamemaster:Yeah, metagaming for right now, at the very least, you have Johnny.
Johnny:Oh, that's horrifying.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Metagame.
Argyle:Does it look like we're going to have Johnny
Argyle:or Egan? Can I tell that?
Argyle:Okay. Okay.
Gamemaster:Egan is currently enraptured.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:I will say, if you free Egan for this encounter, I will let you have both.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:But at the moment, at the moment, it's just Johnny.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:OK let me just check one like that
Gamemaster:I understand I going back on the rules I set out literally earlier today Yesterday Something like that Um but you know
Anzu:Thank you This combat or this scene kind of started before that message
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Yes, thank you.
Anzu:So it's grandfathered in.
Gamemaster:That's exactly it.
Anzu:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Uh, this is the old system.
Argyle:Benny, you're not going to.
Argyle:You can't help me get to Egan or.
Gamemaster:At this point you can move.
Benny:Yeah, we get to what?
Argyle:Egan.
Benny:Uh.
Benny:Oh, yeah, I didn't realize we were.
Benny:It seemed like we were more or less surrounded.
Benny:This is still in the green area.
Gamemaster:It was just where you started at the beginning of this encounter.
Gamemaster:So your freedom of round as you like now.
Benny:Okay.
Argyle:You think I'm gonna get attacked
Argyle:if I walk to Egan?
Benny:Probably.
Argyle:Should I strike first?
Benny:Maybe.
Argyle:Or should I...
Argyle:Alright, I'm gonna strike first.
Argyle:Can you, um...
Argyle:Give me some support if they jump?
Argyle:You know what, I'm just gonna wait.
Argyle:I'll let Betty make the first move so they jump on Betty.
Argyle:I'm gonna stay.
Argyle:I'm just gonna prepare my shield.
Argyle:I'll raise my shield.
Argyle:And then I'll...
Argyle:I will move
Gamemaster:Yeah, that's fine.
Argyle:can I stand there?
Argyle:or no?
Argyle:okay
Argyle:wait what debuff did I just get?
Gamemaster:No, you had a buff from being close to Johnny and now you are not in Johnny's aura anymore.
Argyle:was it a debuff or buff?
Argyle:oh yeah
Argyle:I'll stay here though
Gamemaster:The buff gives you a plus one status bonus to attack rules.
Argyle:Oh, I could spin up...
Argyle:Before I move, actually, I'm going to spin up Benediction.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Hopefully that doesn't cause
Gamemaster:Doesn't seem to be a hostile attack, so hostile action.
Argyle:anger with me.
Argyle:I'll spend a benediction and raise my shield.
Argyle:Did that cause any aggression?
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:So I'll just stand over here.
Gamemaster:Okay, next up is Egan.
Gamemaster:Egan is enraptured by the necklace.
Gamemaster:Next up is Anzu.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Anzu:recall knowledge on
Anzu:the necklace as well as
Anzu:what's maybe emanating from the necklace
Anzu:or something like that?
Gamemaster:Yes, that will be a cult or religion in this instance.
Anzu:Is that a cult in nature?
Gamemaster:37, albeit just barely.
Anzu:Hooray!
Anzu:Pretty good start.
Anzu:37?
Gamemaster:What do you want to know? Highest, lowest, save? Resistances, immunities, weaknesses, other stuff?
Argyle:I can try to
Anzu:So, I guess, and if you said this before, I apologize, do we see this kind of creature
Anzu:emerging from the necklace right now?
Gamemaster:You see this black energy pulling out of the necklace and almost grabbing onto Egan's face and forcing him to look at it.
Anzu:Okay.
Anzu:So it's like...
Gamemaster:It's obvious that there's an entity present besides the necklace itself.
Anzu:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Anzu:Okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:stop that if you can get me to eating or someone takes some aggro so i don't instantly hit
Anzu:I think the best way to get to Egan
Anzu:is probably to
Anzu:stride the 15 feet
Anzu:that he is away from you
Anzu:anyway
Anzu:I want to know the immunities, resistances, whatnot
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:Are you and I making this distinction here Are you looking at the immunities resistances so on of the entity in the necklace or of the necklace itself
Anzu:you That delicious
Anzu:Let's go for the entity in the necklace
Anzu:that's emerging and trying to grab him.
Anzu:Okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely. The entity in the necklace has the incorporeal spirit, undead, and unholy traits.
Gamemaster:It is immune to bleed, disease, paralyze, poison, precision, and unconsciousness, as well as all death effects.
Gamemaster:And it has resistance 10 to all damage, except resistance 20 to non-magical damage.
Gamemaster:And it is force, ghost touch, spirit, and vitality bypass its resistances.
Gamemaster:Mental damage, it has resistance 10 to it.
Johnny:Great.
Anzu:Okay.
Anzu:Okay.
Johnny:Yes.
Anzu:Where does mental damage fall into that spectrum?
Anzu:Okay.
Anzu:It's just like magic damage, basically.
Gamemaster:Yeah, so the only things that fully get through its resistance are force, spirit, and vitality damage,
Gamemaster:or damage from a weapon with ghost touch.
Anzu:Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Anzu:Very good.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:Folks.
Anzu:Um, okay.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:I have clear mind but it touch and I just didn want to do that while surrounded by everyone I was hoping that Benny would take at least a little aggro and then I walk up but clear mind can get rid of controlled if he controlled
Anzu:Um.
Anzu:I don't know if I really have anything to try and, like, coax.
Anzu:Egan?
Anzu:Egan?
Anzu:So we may just have to, like...
Johnny:Thank you I might be able to give him something
Anzu:Thank you All right
Anzu:Yeah, so then I'm not going to do anything in that regard just yet.
Anzu:I'm going to use my other two actions to begin casting a spell.
Gamemaster:Bye.
Anzu:I kind of throw my hands out, and then I pull them back in,
Anzu:and everybody, including you guys,
Anzu:kind of feel briefly your attention
Anzu:almost like pulled to me for a moment.
Anzu:And then I seem to be kind of like
Anzu:holding, shaking my hands in
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:Very cool.
Benny:We can merge.
Johnny:right
Anzu:like right at my head.
Gamemaster:Johnny, it's your turn.
Anzu:And I will continue to cast this spell
Gamemaster:You do another thing.
Anzu:into next round.
Gamemaster:.
Anzu:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:.
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:I'm gonna
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:stride
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:up to
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:I'm gonna stride up to right here
Gamemaster:.
Johnny:so that
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:Egan is within the range of my
Johnny:victor's wreath.
Johnny:And then I will
Johnny:what is this? Spark imminence? What is it called?
Johnny:Transcend!
Johnny:And I will use one moment till glory on Egan
Johnny:to give him
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:I am so sorry
Johnny:I hope there's a saving throw on this
Johnny:that he can reroll.
Gamemaster:Egan is not considered an ally right now yeah you would know that he not currently considered an ally
Johnny:Never mind then Oh in that case I would take can I take back my entire turn
Johnny:great
Gamemaster:Yes, you can.
Johnny:in that case
Johnny:shoot well
Johnny:first I'll do Dirge of Doom
Gamemaster:Okay. Of course, a classic.
Argyle:That might be a hostile action.
Anzu:I think it might be 27.
Johnny:I'll do a lingering composition
Johnny:into Dirge of Doom
Johnny:just to get that kicked off
Gamemaster:Uh, 26? You guys are level 9 now?
Johnny:is that a success?
Johnny:what is the
Johnny:what is the low roll
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:ECS 45
Gamemaster:DC is 45. Level-based DCs... It's 26. You just barely pass.
Johnny:oh
Johnny:oh no
Benny:That's half of 45.
Johnny:oh
Benny:Oh.
Johnny:amazing
Gamemaster:I am going to note
Johnny:so we get this for three rounds
Johnny:it's on action
Benny:Oh.
Johnny:oh
Gamemaster:this is a hostile action
Gamemaster:you are
Gamemaster:making the shades around you fearsome
Gamemaster:fearful?
Johnny:okay
Johnny:okay well
Gamemaster:fearful
Johnny:I will then
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Johnny:if they're already
Benny:Oh, they're so fearsome.
Johnny:I guess I'll go right behind
Benny:Why did you make him scarier?
Johnny:Denny
Johnny:and
Johnny:third action
Johnny:oh gosh
Johnny:just to
Johnny:prep. I will feel my oats
Gamemaster:of course
Johnny:just to get this up in case I need a roll of deception check.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:Ciao.
Johnny:Okay, so at one point in the next minute, I can substitute a will save for this 31 that I just got.
Anzu:That's fun.
Gamemaster:Great.
Gamemaster:I'm gonna roll some initiatives.
Johnny:That is my turn.
Gamemaster:Because with your very scary Dirge of Doom, you have startled the shades around you, including
Gamemaster:the thing, inhabiting the necklace into action, seeing that you are now hostile in some way.
Argyle:Vielen Dank.
Johnny:oh no oh no oh that's bad wait that's really bad
Gamemaster:So I'm going to switch Egan's alliance to opposition for a moment.
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:Then I'm going to do this.
Gamemaster:And then we'll end that one.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Vielen Dank.
Benny:I'm trying to figure out where the fuck they put the cone.
Gamemaster:At the end of your turn, there is this visible almost murmur that goes through all of the
Gamemaster:shades currently on the deck alongside you.
Gamemaster:But Benny, you actually get to go before they do.
Gamemaster:What are you doing?
Gamemaster:What?
Benny:on drawing tools.
Argyle:You know, Benny, Ice Cream Cone, he's a kid.
Gamemaster:Uh, why are you trying to draw a cone?
Benny:How do I draw a cone?
Benny:Who knows?
Gamemaster:Right, of course.
Benny:Where did this go?
Gamemaster:Um, yes.
Benny:Oh, region controls.
Benny:Then he sees everyone be hostile.
Gamemaster:You can click on it with the top option under the region controls the select regions
Benny:or turn hostile Well now I can get rid of the cone
Argyle:Vielen Dank you
Gamemaster:You can click on it and then edit it as you like.
Benny:Oh, I see.
Benny:Egan is hostile.
Benny:Is everyone hostile?
Benny:Is everyone mean?
Benny:Do they look mean?
Gamemaster:They look mean.
Benny:Nice.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Benny:Benny had a slight respeccing.
Johnny:Oh, no.
Anzu:Nice.
Benny:So he is now aura farming.
Benny:And Benny will issue a ringing challenge.
Benny:And all four of them have to make a...
Benny:Fortitude saving throw.
Benny:so this is Benny
Gamemaster:absolutely uh noah i am going to be controlling egan for the moment so you don't have to make
Johnny:Okay.
Benny:slamming together both of his
Benny:his hook sword and his
Benny:falcata and it's very loud
Johnny:Cool.
Gamemaster:saves for him. Don't worry.
Benny:Yes.
Johnny:Horrifying.
Gamemaster:Egan did
Gamemaster:succeed, but
Johnny:Horrifying.
Gamemaster:the horn critically failed
Gamemaster:and the first mate's shade
Gamemaster:also failed. 17
Gamemaster:points of damage. Was this
Gamemaster:a basic save?
Gamemaster:Yes, basic fortitude save.
Benny:Yes.
Gamemaster:Okay, so
Gamemaster:you take double.
Gamemaster:Minus some.
Benny:The coiled horn is also deafened for one minute.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:Eken takes half the first mix meets sheet takes regular.
Benny:And then Benny will move forward up to
Gamemaster:Absolutely And I apply Defend to the quilt Okay the quote okay
Benny:the deafened coiled horn.
Benny:Oh, wait, hold on. I lose Victor's wreath.
Benny:Benny will move almost up to the coiled horn.
Gamemaster:absolutely uh okay that ends your turn that brings us to the coiled horn's turn the
Gamemaster:The Quilthorn is frightened and deafened at the moment.
Benny:Welcome.
Johnny:Ice.
Anzu:Enix, let's go.
Gamemaster:Deafened is very funny because I'm looking at all of its abilities,
Gamemaster:and at least some of them have the auditory trait,
Gamemaster:which I believe means that, yes, I have to do a DC5 flat check
Gamemaster:before attempting any of them.
Gamemaster:Which is good. Thank you for that.
Anzu:Let's go.
Gamemaster:I think instead it's going to...
Gamemaster:well, clearly you're taking hostile actions here.
Gamemaster:So you can see that out of the necklace
Gamemaster:raises up this ghostly form.
Gamemaster:It is the thing that was using its energy
Gamemaster:to kind of direct Egan into looking at it.
Gamemaster:It is now not separate from the necklace.
Gamemaster:The necklace is worn around this apparition's neck.
Gamemaster:The ghost itself looks semi-translucent
Gamemaster:in the same way that the shades do,
Gamemaster:but the necklace itself is definitely a solid object
Gamemaster:hanging around its neck.
Gamemaster:It's going to look at Benny and it's going to do a Hollowing Gaze at Benny.
Benny:Nice.
Gamemaster:So Benny, attempt this Fort Save, please.
Benny:Define visual void.
Benny:Define visual void.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:Sure.
Gamemaster:So you are going to take 24 points of void damage, and you are also drained as it pulls
Gamemaster:the vitality out of you with its hollow gaze And then it will use its third action to direct Egan
Argyle:new plan i not freeing ian
Benny:Thank you Thanks
Johnny:Thank you Hey we should free Egan
Gamemaster:Egan gets two actions.
Gamemaster:So Egan is going to use its first action to step.
Johnny:With metagaming, we should free him.
Argyle:Well, I was trying to, but then you alerted all of us.
Benny:Uh, Egan is stepping.
Gamemaster:Egan is stepping.
Benny:Uh, why would, all right, well, uh, yeah, I'm going to opportunity attack.
Benny:I wanted to opportunity attack the coiled horn.
Gamemaster:No, you're not.
Benny:Why not?
Gamemaster:He stepped.
Gamemaster:you're no thaumaturge
Benny:Oh, right, right, right.
Benny:Well, actually, so one of the, no, I'm joking.
Gamemaster:you're no lev
Gamemaster:you don't get to do random crap
Gamemaster:okay I think he's just going to try and
Benny:Mm-hmm.
Gamemaster:stab you in the face with his
Gamemaster:gun sword
Gamemaster:that is a hit
Gamemaster:so Benny is going to take an additional
Gamemaster:22 points of damage
Gamemaster:split between
Gamemaster:piercing and spirit
Gamemaster:but that is the end of his turn
Gamemaster:it is the first mate Shade's turn
Gamemaster:who is going to
Gamemaster:spend one action
Gamemaster:to
Gamemaster:let's do a boarding action that's two actions that's fine uh he's going to take out a grappling
Gamemaster:hook launch it up towards the Crowe's nest at the top of the uh the top of the uh chips here and he's
Gamemaster:going to use it to move these 20 feet over here and make an attack at the end of his uh movement
Gamemaster:and he gets
Gamemaster:a little bonus to his damage because he did that.
Anzu:Oh.
Gamemaster:So let's have him try and slice you with his cutlass.
Gamemaster:We're going for Johnny here.
Gamemaster:Oh, that was bad.
Gamemaster:I did not good.
Gamemaster:He doesn't have much else he can do here,
Gamemaster:so I think he's just gonna follow up
Gamemaster:with a quick dagger thrust,
Gamemaster:see if he can't get you a little bit.
Gamemaster:Nope, I rolled a natural one.
Gamemaster:He gets nothing.
Gamemaster:Argyle, it's your turn.
Gamemaster:He does, he's currently standing in Johnny's Victor's Wreath, which gives him a plus one
Argyle:Yeah, good, good, good, good.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Benny, do you have anything that gives you a plus one status bonus
Argyle:to attack rolls?
Argyle:Damage.
Gamemaster:status bonus to attack rolls.
Gamemaster:Hmm.
Argyle:Oh, great.
Argyle:So I will not do that.
Argyle:I will cast Divine Wrath.
Gamemaster:On.
Gamemaster:Absolutely. Okay, so that's Egan, the Coiled Horn, and those two shades. Absolutely. Okay,
Argyle:Yeah, uh there.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:so these guys have to make a Fortitude save.
Argyle:Oh, those are such bad numbers.
Gamemaster:Okay, so the Coiled Horn and Egan both failed.
Argyle:It's so sad.
Argyle:no shades
Gamemaster:Those are the only valid targets of this particular attack.
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:The shades, it just passes right through them.
Argyle:can you delete the code
Argyle:oh cool
Gamemaster:I don't even see the cone anymore.
Argyle:cool cool cool
Gamemaster:Oh, it's 14 points of damage.
Argyle:alright
Argyle:yeah that was really real
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:really bad
Argyle:and then for my next trick I will do three moves battle medicine
Gamemaster:Damage and damage
Argyle:DC
Argyle:what's my
Argyle:I don't know about DC 20
Argyle:well
Argyle:that was just
Argyle:a success
Argyle:what did i roll i rolled uh sorry i'm just trying to see what did i roll in the dice
Gamemaster:29 points of healing.
Benny:Yes.
Argyle:three i'll re-roll that yeah i'll re-roll that i have two mythic points to go for
Gamemaster:You rolled
Gamemaster:2d10.
Gamemaster:You rolled a 10.
Argyle:fish yeah there we go and i get a mythic back anyway so now that's 41 um and then i think
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Oh, that's a crit. That's much better.
Argyle:i think with my uh with the medic dedication i should i'm not a medic anymore okay cool
Argyle:Cool cool cool.
Gamemaster:Okay, we're skipping over Egan because he's being controlled.
Anzu:Okay.
Gamemaster:On to the turn.
Anzu:I was looking kind of at where everything is,
Anzu:and I think I probably just stay where I am for right now.
Anzu:I, well, I guess I'll unleash my psyche.
Argyle:Ask action.
Anzu:And then I'm still, I've been like kind of holding.
Anzu:And as it's gotten closer and closer to my turn,
Anzu:I've been starting to kind of like yell and strain.
Anzu:And I kind of let it go.
Anzu:I like throw my hands back out.
Anzu:But as I'm doing that, the four of you,
Anzu:my like yelling almost starts to sound muffled.
Anzu:and as I release my psychic outburst it only going to hit enemies because I held it
Argyle:Oh Oh
Gamemaster:Thank you Absolutely Yes I will make these saves
Johnny:Ooh Ooh Nice
Anzu:So I release my 40-foot emanation.
Johnny:Whoa.
Johnny:Whoa.
Anzu:Click two rounds.
Anzu:And are you able to make these will saves, Josh?
Johnny:Okay.
Gamemaster:You know what?
Gamemaster:I think I'm gonna include this guy in it too.
Gamemaster:So as before, this doesn't seem to affect most of the shades here, but some of them do seem a bit more empowered.
Gamemaster:We have failures from the First Mate, the Bosun, and...
Gamemaster:Oh, I rolled for the wrong one. I rolled for the necklace. I meant to roll for the horn.
Gamemaster:The Quilthorn Spirit itself. One second.
Gamemaster:That is a success from the horn.
Benny:Bravey.
Anzu:A little unfortunate.
Gamemaster:We also have a success from the quartermaster and from Egan.
Anzu:Right.
Gamemaster:59 points of damage is not bad.
Gamemaster:Okay, so the successes are Egan and the coiled horn and the quartermaster.
Gamemaster:We take half that, right?
Gamemaster:This is a basic save.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:And then the bosun and the first mate will take the full damage, which is a pretty big
Anzu:Epic.
Gamemaster:chunk out of them.
Gamemaster:The first mate and the bosun are both bloodied.
Anzu:Epic.
Gamemaster:They don't get to do anything with that, but they are both bloodied.
Gamemaster:Anything else on your turn?
Gamemaster:I think no, that's all three of your actions, unless you have something else.
Anzu:Do I see where this
Anzu:Quartermaster's shade is?
Gamemaster:You do not but they were in range of your attack attack
Anzu:Sick.
Benny:you Just kill them
Johnny:Oh no
Anzu:I love it okay I have one action I might just sideburst
Gamemaster:Yeah just kill him.
Gamemaster:Oh creatures that fell their save were pushed ten feet away from you? One second.
Anzu:I think it's a critical. Oh, yeah, no, you're right. I thought it was just critical. Yeah, 10 feet away.
Anzu:epic
Gamemaster:Okay.
Anzu:does that push him out of range?
Anzu:no it doesn't
Anzu:I think I'll just send a shifted
Anzu:Psiburst out at this first mate's
Anzu:shade
Anzu:so it's the will save
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:I will make a will save.
Gamemaster:Failure.
Anzu:sick
Anzu:That's a lot of low numbers.
Gamemaster:11 points of damage. This guy seems to be weak to mental damage. You've been dealing
Gamemaster:more damage than you would otherwise expect. He's still alive, he's just pretty injured.
Anzu:Okay, that is my turn.
Gamemaster:Absolutely. It's the bosun's turn. The bosun is going to do the same thing that... oh actually,
Gamemaster:it doesn't have the range. Okay, so he's going to spend one action to walk closer to you,
Anzu:Wow.
Gamemaster:And then he's going to do a boarding action to close the distance next to Anzu.
Gamemaster:And then he's going to make...
Gamemaster:Oh, actually, one second.
Gamemaster:Can you have ended up there instead?
Gamemaster:No, it didn't matter.
Gamemaster:But he will go there, and he will make his cutlass attack.
Gamemaster:I rolled so bad.
Anzu:That is a blessing.
Gamemaster:I miss.
Gamemaster:Unfortunate.
Gamemaster:And that is two of its
Gamemaster:actions. Oh no, that's its third action
Johnny:yeah
Gamemaster:as well, because it had to move to get closer to you.
Gamemaster:So it's just done.
Gamemaster:It's Johnny's
Gamemaster:turn.
Johnny:Johnny
Johnny:versus going to cast
Johnny:where is this
Johnny:first strike
Johnny:through
Johnny:oh sure
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:catch first strike on himself
Johnny:maybe if it'll
Johnny:if I can get this
Johnny:there we go
Johnny:and then I'm gonna target the whalebone
Gamemaster:Sure.
Johnny:necklace
Johnny:see if that does anything
Gamemaster:Sure.
Johnny:I will cast needle darts
Johnny:and these are silver
Gamemaster:He's casting Needle Darts.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:I don't know if that does anything
Johnny:nice
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:That hits.
Johnny:not a lot
Gamemaster:Roll damage.
Johnny:14 points of piercing damage
Gamemaster:14 points of piercing damage. Absolutely.
Johnny:Oh, it's got a hardness.
Gamemaster:So the darts from the needles hit the necklace and seemed to bounce off of it.
Argyle:Thank you it didn affect the amulet right But it affected the spirit
Benny:hard to do damage through that Thank you
Anzu:And I guess my mental attack also didn but that kind of tracks
Gamemaster:It's solid.
Gamemaster:You can do damage to it, but it's hard.
Gamemaster:It's got a hardness.
Gamemaster:Hard to do damage.
Gamemaster:Also, only certain damage types seem to work on it, because things like Argyle's Divine Blast or whatever it was didn't seem to affect it at all.
Gamemaster:But this made contact correct Your mental attack down Hmm Correct
Johnny:you interesting
Gamemaster:It hit the spirit.
Gamemaster:It didn't hit the necklace itself.
Gamemaster:At the end of Johnny's turn,
Johnny:oh no
Gamemaster:it is the quartermaster's turn.
Gamemaster:As they walk up the stairs.
Gamemaster:One second.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:I have to give him heels.
Gamemaster:and yeshiv
Benny:Is that all of Johnny's actions, or is it possible to get him five feet closer to the coiled horn?
Johnny:yeah I still have one more action Josh
Gamemaster:um
Gamemaster:oh I'm sorry ignore him
Johnny:I
Gamemaster:he's gone now
Johnny:I will move
Gamemaster:okay
Benny:Okay.
Johnny:to there
Johnny:Oh, even though I never left his range?
Gamemaster:uh that's fine
Gamemaster:the first mate shade will take a reactive
Gamemaster:strike on you then
Gamemaster:You moved. This is Pathfinder.
Gamemaster:I'm so sorry.
Johnny:Yeah, because I want to be cool about it
Johnny:That's not cool
Gamemaster:No, he's trying to kill you.
Gamemaster:That is a hit.
Gamemaster:You are going to take
Johnny:Ow
Johnny:Ow
Gamemaster:22 points of slashing damage.
Johnny:Yes, that's the end of my turn now
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Gamemaster:Now it's the quartermaster's turn. He comes back up the staircase after coming up and then walking back down so that you can finish your turn.
Benny:Oh, you're not done yet?
Gamemaster:He comes back up the staircase.
Benny:Okay.
Benny:Okay.
Johnny:Sorry, I'm off
Gamemaster:And then he's going to swap, which means that Shade 7 and him will swap spaces.
Johnny:uncool
Gamemaster:um
Benny:Gross.
Gamemaster:yeah
Gamemaster:I think it probably over Johnny still sorry We going to make another Cutlass attack with him
Johnny:oh super uncool
Anzu:you Gail
Gamemaster:I rolled so bad.
Gamemaster:So we're going to try a little bit with the dagger.
Gamemaster:And I missed again.
Gamemaster:Poor Quartermaster doesn't get to do anything.
Gamemaster:Benny, it's your turn.
Gamemaster:You're drained.
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Benny:Benny will step to the coiled horn
Benny:glaring at Egan
Benny:don't touch me bro
Benny:um
Benny:let's see can Benny even do damage
Benny:the coiled horn
Benny:I'm trying to decide
Benny:do I try to trip the coiled horn
Benny:would that be funny to make the coiled horn prone
Benny:let's try it
Gamemaster:It it's it's crazy that I'm looking at its immunities and it's not immune to prone
Anzu:prone is optimal.
Gamemaster:That's wild. I
Gamemaster:Kind of thought incorporeal entities just got immune to prone by default. How does it fall?
Benny:wait it's incorporeal
Benny:nevermind
Gamemaster:It isn't incorporeal
Gamemaster:You can still hit it like
Benny:I know but
Benny:the thing that I want to do after
Benny:I trip it, or should I successfully trip it, I'm not sure will work if it's incorporeal.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Yeah, mythic.
Johnny:I mean, you can try it.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:So we'll double slice.
Benny:Slice one?
Benny:I didn't even check if the hook sort is agile.
Gamemaster:He's double slicing.
Benny:It's not.
Benny:This is a miss?
Benny:Oh, Jesus.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it's a mess.
Argyle:Hey.
Benny:I do, but for the coil, I guess.
Benny:Hmm It double slice If it was a single action I might That way I could do other stuff I forgot completely how to roll this
Argyle:Yeah yeah yeah gosh you think he uses a regular dive
Gamemaster:You rolled the die again
Johnny:you Silence
Benny:Oh, here we are. Double slice, second action.
Gamemaster:Yeah, I'm sorry.
Gamemaster:That's a miss as well.
Argyle:he's the
Benny:Oh, fucking two fives?
Argyle:that sucks
Argyle:wow mike you sent that 11 minutes ago that was crazy
Benny:The hell are we doing?
Benny:Alright, that's Benny's turn.
Gamemaster:Missing.
Gamemaster:Yeah, I don't understand what's going on with the timestamps,
Benny:Mm-hmm.
Anzu:That is a lot of rounds to have your psyche unleashed.
Gamemaster:because for me it only shows 7 seconds ago, not 11 minutes.
Benny:
Benny:Mm-hmm.
Gamemaster:But when Tanner unleashed his psyche, it said he did it a year and 10 hours ago.
Gamemaster:And I don't know how he managed that.
Argyle:for me it says the wrong one and then fixes itself like it's a random fucking thing
Gamemaster:Oh, sure.
Anzu:I think I'm dead.
Gamemaster:Yes, it is.
Gamemaster:So long as you keep healing up, it's fine with the homebrew.
Gamemaster:It's the coiled horn's turn.
Gamemaster:They're deafened.
Gamemaster:They're frightened.
Gamemaster:I think it's going to do a resonant peel at you.
Gamemaster:At Benny.
Gamemaster:Oh, shoot.
Gamemaster:Actually, don't look at that yet.
Gamemaster:Don't look at that yet.
Benny:Is it a manipulate?
Johnny:Eh.
Gamemaster:Okay, yes, they were allowed to hit you.
Gamemaster:That's a crit.
Gamemaster:No.
Gamemaster:It has the auditory, magical, and sonic traits.
Gamemaster:It's an attack.
Gamemaster:I don't know what you expected.
Benny:It's bunk is what it is.
Johnny:Eh.
Gamemaster:36 points of sonic damage.
Gamemaster:Is it a...
Benny:Do ranged attacks get some penalty for being in range?
Benny:They're too close?
Gamemaster:I don't know, Pathfinder, I don't think, but I will double check for you.
Argyle:That's it.
Benny:Besides volley.
Benny:Hold on.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it isn't Volley.
Gamemaster:Let's see.
Gamemaster:No.
Benny:Hold on.
Gamemaster:You attack with a weapon you're wielding or with an unarmed attack,
Gamemaster:targeting one creature within your reach for a melee attack
Gamemaster:or within range for a ranged attack.
Gamemaster:Roll an attack while using the attack modifier.
Gamemaster:against the target's AC.
Johnny:I thought it did with Reactive Strike
Benny:One second.
Benny:Make in Pathfinder 2E making a ranged attack
Benny:triggers an attack of opportunity.
Gamemaster:No?
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Does it?
Gamemaster:Does Reactive Strike say that?
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:Oh, that's fun.
Johnny:um
Argyle:I love how it says or leaves a square
Johnny:If your taxi makes a range attack, yeah.
Gamemaster:Use a manipulate action, a move action,
Gamemaster:makes a ranged attack, or leaves a square.
Gamemaster:Yes, you may make a...
Gamemaster:A...
Gamemaster:I don't actually think it lets you hit teleports.
Argyle:so that lets you hit teleports
Argyle:oh because it doesn't move another square
Benny:Woo!
Benny:I'm going to need another five.
Argyle:that's what I figured
Gamemaster:Yeah, teleport doesn't have the move trait.
Argyle:ah
Gamemaster:It's not a movement.
Argyle:wait so why can't you
Gamemaster:Yeah, you miss. I'm so sorry.
Argyle:get steps with that then
Argyle:so what's the point of the move thing
Gamemaster:Step specifically says it doesn't trigger it. If you look at...
Argyle:if it's not steps
Argyle:or moves or not teleports
Argyle:what does it mean
Argyle:some spells have a move trade or something
Gamemaster:So...
Argyle:like ride a wave or something
Gamemaster:Well no so there are move traits that you could attempt to do that you don actually end up moving Like if you try a tumble through and you fail the check you don move anywhere But that is a move action Okay you miss That was one of its actions to attack It going to do
Argyle:um OK I see I see
Gamemaster:second action I think it's gonna just like pull away because it doesn't like
Argyle:No, it shouldn't do that.
Gamemaster:it doesn't like being there we go it doesn't like being in your oh let's put
Argyle:Benny, you scared it off.
Argyle:I had him where I wanted him.
Gamemaster:the necklace back that was supposed to go at the same time and then for its
Gamemaster:third action. I think it's gonna
Gamemaster:command Egan again.
Gamemaster:Egan?
Gamemaster:Egan doesn't get to do a spinning
Gamemaster:crush.
Argyle:hopefully you can mix it out of this encounter
Johnny:No, Egan's not going to do anything.
Gamemaster:Egan?
Gamemaster:What's Egan gonna do?
Gamemaster:Is he gonna do a stab and blast?
Johnny:He's going to stand there and be cool.
Gamemaster:I think Egan's gonna do
Johnny:Josh, don't use this cool character I built against us.
Gamemaster:Egan's gonna do
Johnny:Don't do this.
Gamemaster:a stab and blast is what's gonna
Johnny:No, don't do this, Josh.
Gamemaster:happen.
Johnny:Don't use this cool character against us.
Gamemaster:Now the question is, is Egan going for Johnny or for Benny?
Argyle:it's magic oh it's bad no
Johnny:Okay.
Gamemaster:Let's roll a D4.
Gamemaster:Even is Benny.
Gamemaster:We're going for Benny.
Gamemaster:And according to this timestamp, it was 11 minutes, 364 days ago.
Gamemaster:That's fine.
Gamemaster:Okay, Benny, stab and blast.
Gamemaster:so he makes a melee strike
Gamemaster:with the required weapon
Gamemaster:no ammunition
Argyle:I guess you can't guys, I guess.
Gamemaster:oh shoot he has to reload
Gamemaster:he spends one action to reload
Gamemaster:and then he spends his second action to uh he spends his second action to stab and blast
Argyle:Esty's on my lap
Benny:you Nice
Gamemaster:Uh, I critically
Gamemaster:failed.
Argyle:you can't see it but you can see her tail
Benny:I see it.
Argyle:it looks like
Gamemaster:The strike was a fail, so
Argyle:the Riddler
Gamemaster:that's the end of his stab and blast.
Benny:It looks like the Loch Ness Monster.
Gamemaster:I rolled so badly, he doesn't
Gamemaster:get to do anything.
Gamemaster:It's the first mate Shade's turn.
Argyle:yeah
Argyle:Nessie
Argyle:Esty looks like Nessie
Benny:I see.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:God, the first mate's shade...
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Johnny is just directly in front of him.
Gamemaster:I think he has to go...
Gamemaster:Actually, Argyle did start healing people,
Gamemaster:and that's kind of rude.
Gamemaster:We're going to go for Argyle.
Gamemaster:We're going to do a cutlass attack.
Gamemaster:36.
Gamemaster:Because he's frightened, that's not a crit.
Gamemaster:Oh, okay.
Argyle:Is my benediction on?
Argyle:My benediction's not on.
Argyle:I cast that.
Argyle:It didn't.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:Did you apply it to yourself?
Argyle:Guess not.
Argyle:Okay, so the crit was plus 13 for Benny anyway.
Argyle:I'm just going to recast it so I can see it.
Gamemaster:Yeah, just recast and reapply it.
Gamemaster:Ignore the fact that I had Benny targeted for that attack.
Gamemaster:We are just going for...
Argyle:All right.
Argyle:this was a mistake on his part but that's okay
Gamemaster:We're just going for Argyle.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:To attack Argyle?
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:Just 30 points of slash and damage to Argyle.
Argyle:oh I could have blocked some
Gamemaster:And then he's going to follow that up with a dagger attack.
Gamemaster:A d'attack.
Argyle:let me undo that
Argyle:damage
Gamemaster:From what?
Argyle:with my shield
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:Was your shield still raised?
Argyle:I don't know how to
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:So you use your reaction to shield block.
Argyle:Yeah you know what I just take the damage It faded away All right No I did do it You could see but
Gamemaster:Yeah because you have to do it at the end of every round
Argyle:There's a second icon under it.
Gamemaster:Okay, well you take 30 damage.
Argyle:This is like Argyle and there's like I clicked it and then it doesn't undo it.
Argyle:If I undo the damage, doesn't matter.
Argyle:All right.
Gamemaster:If you're not having the shield take it, you get 30 damage.
Argyle:Yeah, I understand.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:OK.
Gamemaster:He's going to attack you with a dagger.
Gamemaster:That's another hit.
Gamemaster:Are you going to shield block this one?
Gamemaster:OK.
Gamemaster:You're going to take an additional 18 points of damage.
Gamemaster:And then.
Gamemaster:He's not really in a good position to do anything else, so...
Gamemaster:He doesn't have anything he can do, he'll just make one more dagger attack and see if that lands as well.
Argyle:Yes, unravel existence.
Gamemaster:Unlikely to do much.
Gamemaster:That misses.
Gamemaster:Okay, that's your turn.
Gamemaster:Of course.
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:Let me, let me, those are just getting in the way.
Argyle:Why?
Argyle:This is, uh, so it should be all three of them, right?
Argyle:Do you see it?
Argyle:I clicked it, but it went away.
Gamemaster:Yeah, can you put it back down again?
Argyle:Yeah, let me see.
Gamemaster:Yes, I see that.
Argyle:Oh, wait, no, there's a way to do it.
Gamemaster:Oh.
Argyle:I did it without hitting Johnny.
Argyle:Oops, no, no, no, no.
Gamemaster:Yes, I see that.
Argyle:This way.
Argyle:Do you see that?
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:I saw real damage, huh?
Gamemaster:Okay, why is it going away?
Gamemaster:Like, it shows up for a second, and then it goes away.
Argyle:I don't know.
Argyle:Yeah, yeah.
Argyle:So do you see this when I'm hovering it?
Gamemaster:Let me...
Gamemaster:Oh, are you clicking target, and then clicking the target button?
Argyle:I was clicking the place 20-foot burst.
Gamemaster:Oh, I see what's happening.
Gamemaster:I see what's happening.
Argyle:Is that incorrect?
Gamemaster:I understand.
Gamemaster:Okay, it is...
Gamemaster:I think it's a misconfiguration.
Gamemaster:I will place the 25 burst for you in one second.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:We're going to say that's not hitting Johnny.
Argyle:yeah because i can do that in a way that doesn't
Argyle:sounds good
Argyle:27 points
Gamemaster:27 points.
Argyle:are they from this
Gamemaster:They have to...
Argyle:mindscape do they originate from his
Gamemaster:Basic fort save.
Argyle:mindscape this plane
Gamemaster:Yes, these things originate from his minescape.
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:Each creature on a failed save of the creature isn't a native inhabitant.
Argyle:I was hoping that only Egan would be native to his mindscape
Johnny:Terrible.
Anzu:Good thinking though, Jorge.
Gamemaster:No, they are a native inhabitant of this plane.
Gamemaster:Let me roll fort saves for them.
Argyle:but
Gamemaster:No, they're all native to his...
Argyle:oh great
Gamemaster:They're all created in his mind.
Gamemaster:Egan critically failed.
Gamemaster:First mate shade succeeds, and the quartermaster fails.
Argyle:great
Johnny:Terrible.
Gamemaster:uh yes egan is this isn't egan this is egan's mind and egan's mind comes from egan's mind
Anzu:Are we sure that Egan is native?
Argyle:that's true
Argyle:so 27 damage
Johnny:Yeah.
Johnny:.7 damage.
Anzu:Okay, I see you.
Gamemaster:i hope that isn't controversial
Gamemaster:uh oh i see 27 okay egan takes double that
Argyle:half are doubled
Johnny:.7 damage.
Argyle:if they are failed they're off guard
Gamemaster:54 egan is egan is mortal
Argyle:so
Gamemaster:Oh yeah Anzu I would love it if you could do a Occultism check for me please
Johnny:Are we going to kill my new character
Argyle:you I was gonna walk up and cure him but then we decided to fight while we were on the way
Benny:you Merci
Anzu:Oh boy
Gamemaster:The Quartermaster failed, so it takes full damage.
Anzu:We're doing this the wrong way.
Gamemaster:Um, okay, 35 is a success, give me a second.
Anzu:I got a 35.
Argyle:if I walk in I'm going to get bodied
Johnny:Oh, you can still cure him.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:Okay, with a 35, I will say, Anzu, you have absolutely no idea what will happen to the
Benny:Il est trop loin maintenant.
Johnny:Well, this is.
Anzu:Bye-ho.
Argyle:yeah
Benny:Nous devons le tuer.
Gamemaster:world that you're currently in if the thing that is imagining the world dies.
Gamemaster:Egan, it's Egan's turn.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:Oh, unless, do you have more actions to do?
Argyle:Wait, did that, um, yeah, I'm going to walk over here.
Gamemaster:Okay. Now are you done? Great. No, that didn't kill anything. I'm sorry. Yes, no. It did
Benny:Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
Anzu:Yeah, I was really hoping the first mate would die.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:That didn't kill anything.
Argyle:Damn it.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:do damage to the first mate, it just didn't kill him.
Argyle:Actually, I'm going to go, yeah, no, that's fine.
Argyle:That's fine.
Gamemaster:Uh, okay. Absolutely. Um, it is Egan's turn, we skip Egan because he's controlled, it's
Gamemaster:Zanzu's turn.
Benny:Sous-titrage Société Radio-Canada
Anzu:Okay, since the first space shade is mortal, I think we're going to start with the cybers this time.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Anzu:See what that does.
Anzu:He can make the will save.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:25, which is a failure
Gamemaster:by the looks of it.
Argyle:you get
Gamemaster:14!
Argyle:you can wouldn't die guys you go
Gamemaster:He had
Gamemaster:he has nine hit points 14 is enough to kill him outright which means that the Coiled Horn will use Devour Echo The spirit of the first mate gets drawn into the
Argyle:unconscious
Benny:Sous Soci Radio you
Gamemaster:necklace itself, the necklace heals 20 hit points.
Argyle:I assume all of us are in.
Anzu:Oh no, 30 feet of the shade.
Gamemaster:And everybody within 30 feet takes some mental damage.
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:I will...
Gamemaster:Uh-huh.
Anzu:That's tough.
Gamemaster:It has occurred to me that you can't see the regions I'm drawing unless I select a particular
Gamemaster:button.
Argyle:in it though.
Benny:Yep.
Johnny:Josh, I'm just going to substitute my 31.
Anzu:Awesome.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:Nice.
Gamemaster:Please attempt this wheel save.
Anzu:Now it says each enemy, which means it shouldn't target Egan in this scenario.
Gamemaster:It is not targeting Eakon at the moment.
Gamemaster:Yeah, sure.
Anzu:Oh, no.
Anzu:Um.
Anzu:This is just going to be damage.
Benny:What were the traits?
Argyle:My divine countermeasures took up.
Anzu:I think I just take the damage.
Gamemaster:The traits of this particular...
Gamemaster:Divine and mental.
Benny:Oh, okay.
Anzu:You'd think I'd have resistance to mental damage.
Gamemaster:Herald.
Anzu:Does that ever happen?
Argyle:Wait a second.
Argyle:That's not good, guys.
Argyle:My divine countermeasures activated.
Anzu:Yeah this is like a remnant of The Herald world
Benny:Who Oh The grumpy guy that lives in the garbage
Gamemaster:Herald.
Argyle:Ah yeah
Gamemaster:Isn't that...
Gamemaster:Who is that?
Benny:Oscar?
Gamemaster:What?
Benny:Oscar?
Gamemaster:Oh.
Gamemaster:I don't understand how you made that leap.
Argyle:There are old timey names.
Benny:What?
Benny:Yeah, that's pretty much it.
Gamemaster:Oh, Oscar.
Gamemaster:Oscar is an old timey name
Argyle:what about a dorian gray
Benny:yeah name name one person you know named oscar besides the award
Gamemaster:Herald is an old timey name
Gamemaster:I mean I don't know many people
Benny:oscar wilde doesn't count
Gamemaster:but I know of content creators
Gamemaster:named Oscar does that count
Gamemaster:Oscar Wilde was not
Gamemaster:the person I was thinking of
Gamemaster:what about
Argyle:that doesn't count
Gamemaster:Dorian Gray
Gamemaster:is Dorian Gray's named
Argyle:it's got big oscar vibes
Benny:does it josh
Benny:in Oscar Wilde
Gamemaster:Oscar?
Argyle:got big Oscar vibes
Argyle:oh you got me
Gamemaster:I'm pretty sure his name is Dorian.
Argyle:bye you Josh
Benny:the first letter of every sentence spells
Benny:Oscar Wilde and then it spells
Gamemaster:That's...
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:Dorian Gray
Benny:...
Benny:...
Gamemaster:We're just going past this.
Gamemaster:That was...
Benny:...
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:We got a critical failure from Anzu
Gamemaster:and a success from Benny and Johnny.
Gamemaster:So Benny and Johnny are going to take half damage.
Gamemaster:Anzu, you're going to take double damage.
Gamemaster:It's not a lot of damage.
Anzu:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Eight.
Gamemaster:Either doubled or halved.
Anzu:Definitely that was not a
Anzu:re-roll moment.
Anzu:Cool.
Anzu:Now it's my turn?
Gamemaster:It's still your turn.
Gamemaster:That was a reaction on the death of that guy.
Anzu:Oh, right. I killed him. Duh.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Anzu:I'm good, aren't I?
Anzu:Alright, we're going to cast...
Anzu:Another spell.
Anzu:And keep attacking the shades.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Anzu:we're going to cast an Amped
Anzu:Telekinetic Rend.
Anzu:That makes two 5-foot
Anzu:Bursts. I'm not going to place
Anzu:them. One is on the Quartermaster
Anzu:Shade, one is on the Boson Shade.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:They have to make the support save.
Gamemaster:One failure, one success.
Anzu:Very well.
Anzu:32 points of bludgeoning and slashing?
Gamemaster:32.
Gamemaster:Yes, bludgeoning and slashing.
Gamemaster:Halved for the Quartermaster's shade, full damage for the Bosun's shade.
Anzu:Or... yes.
Gamemaster:Shade.
Gamemaster:They're both bloodied, but they're both still standing.
Anzu:Darn it!
Anzu:We should try to kill them
Gamemaster:Sorry.
Anzu:before the necklace gets its reaction back.
Gamemaster:It's the bosun's turn.
Gamemaster:The bosun's actually nice and cozy right here up against Fight Nanzu,
Gamemaster:so I think it's just going to continue doing that.
Gamemaster:So we're going to do a Cutlass Attack.
Gamemaster:that is a hit.
Anzu:Right.
Gamemaster:So you're going to take 13 points slash damage.
Anzu:Josh, diabolical to crit on the third attack.
Gamemaster:Now we're going to follow it up with a dagger attack
Gamemaster:and also after that a dagger attack.
Gamemaster:Two dagger attacks for the price of two.
Gamemaster:The first one hits, the second one crits.
Anzu:Diabolical.
Anzu:Wait, please hold.
Gamemaster:You're welcome.
Gamemaster:I'm holding.
Anzu:I send out a wooden double Yes Yes For me
Gamemaster:Ooh nice
Argyle:Ha ha ha ha ha Like an afterimage
Benny:you Sure
Johnny:Yes Yes
Anzu:it's more of like a
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Anzu:like a psychic copy of
Anzu:myself, just kind of, yeah.
Gamemaster:Okay, so the first one hits.
Argyle:I'm imagining my head like,
Anzu:The first one hits, because
Argyle:doink!
Anzu:you, yeah.
Gamemaster:So the first one, you're going to take 13 more points of piercing damage.
Anzu:I
Gamemaster:And then the second one is a crit, but first it has to go through the block.
Gamemaster:38, minus 5 from the hardness goes to 33, minus 20 from the hit points of the wound
Gamemaster:double goes to 13.
Gamemaster:You take 13 points of piercing damage as your afterimage explodes.
Anzu:click damage.
Johnny:Okay.
Anzu:It just applies. Okay.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Anzu:I'm just going to do 13 manually.
Gamemaster:Yeah, that's...
Gamemaster:You could just do the one above it.
Gamemaster:That was 13 as well.
Gamemaster:Somehow the crit and the regular did the same amount of damage.
Gamemaster:And that is the end of the Bosun's Shade's turn.
Gamemaster:Johnny, it's your turn.
Johnny:Okay.
Johnny:Jeez Louise.
Anzu:...
Johnny:How far away is this?
Anzu:He is Johnny.
Argyle:If you're able to either heal Johnny or stop the Quartermaster's shade,
Johnny:That's not great.
Johnny:Yeah.
Johnny:Yeah.
Johnny:Yeah, I'll...
Argyle:I can move into Egan.
Argyle:To attempt to uncontrol him, not to kill him.
Johnny:Yeah, I'll...
Gamemaster:Bard, heal thyself.
Johnny:I do a little of both First Benny how injured are you Okay Drop a 4th level soothe first casted on Benny
Argyle:I also
Benny:Thanks Half
Benny:Half.
Johnny:then I will
Gamemaster:Okay. Make a diplomacy check against his will, DC.
Johnny:Bon Moe on this quartermaster's shade
Johnny:I got a critical success
Gamemaster:Yes! He's critically bond mode.
Johnny:and also he takes
Johnny:an amount of damage
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Johnny:which I will tell you
Johnny:I have to look up
Gamemaster:Do some damage to him.
Johnny:I have to look this up every time
Anzu:kill
Anzu:kill him
Johnny:mental damage equal to my level
Johnny:or double on a crit
Johnny:so he takes 18 points of mental damage
Johnny:and for my
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:He's still standing, but he's bloodied.
Johnny:third trick
Anzu:kill him
Johnny:I don't do that
Anzu:no
Johnny:but I can't do that one
Anzu:he's next
Anzu:he's next kill him
Johnny:I don't even know how I can
Gamemaster:Kill him.
Johnny:how standing is he
Johnny:for my third action
Anzu:I'm just messing with you.
Gamemaster:He's not yet mortal, but he's pretty injured.
Anzu:Do your thing.
Johnny:I will distracting performance
Johnny:on Argyle
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:You distract Argyle.
Gamemaster:Who's going to sneak around him?
Gamemaster:Uh, it's, it's, no, it's, I believe it's everybody.
Johnny:Well, do I have to pick a person or is this just everybody?
Gamemaster:Um, I thought I fixed this, dammit.
Johnny:Amazing.
Gamemaster:Alright just roll a performance check 32
Johnny:I got two mythic points
Johnny:I'm gonna use a mythic point.
Gamemaster:35?
Johnny:That's better.
Gamemaster:35 is unfortunately a failure here.
Johnny:Against everybody?
Gamemaster:Oh, you're right. One second, what's the quartermasters?
Gamemaster:No, it's a success against the shades.
Gamemaster:It's a failure against the Coiled Horn.
Argyle:He has attack of opportunities.
Benny:You can step.
Johnny:Is it a success or a failure against Egan too?
Gamemaster:Oh, you're totally right, because Egan's hostile.
Argyle:I can't fix him.
Gamemaster:Egan's DC is 27.
Argyle:I'm not going to die.
Argyle:I...
Argyle:Is that only if I sneak?
Johnny:So he can't see Argyle.
Gamemaster:He can't see Argyle.
Gamemaster:Argyle is hidden at the moment.
Gamemaster:one second
Gamemaster:create a diversion
Argyle:Oh, I can't fix him because I'm going to be casting a spell
Benny:Okay, I'll just kill on my next turn then.
Johnny:Yeah, I didn't want to play this character anyway.
Gamemaster:create a diversion
Gamemaster:means that you are hidden
Gamemaster:since you're hidden
Gamemaster:you are
Gamemaster:they're off guard
Gamemaster:to you and they have to succeed on a
Gamemaster:DC 11 flat check when targeting you with an
Gamemaster:attack spell or other effect
Gamemaster:okay
Argyle:and he'll just opportunity attack me then.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Johnny:It's okay.
Argyle:Hey.
Benny:It melts his mind.
Johnny:That's all I got.
Anzu:Josh, before we move on to the next turn, Othello should have rolled when the shade
Johnny:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Anzu:died before.
Anzu:I got a 32 on his will save.
Gamemaster:Oh, yeah.
Anzu:How does that stack?
Anzu:Is that a success, failure?
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:What was the DC here?
Gamemaster:It melts his mind.
Benny:He turns into wood pulp.
Gamemaster:He got a 30 what?
Gamemaster:He succeeded, so he would take half of whatever mental damage we did was.
Anzu:It was eight, so he will take four.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Johnny, is that the end of your turn?
Johnny:Yeah, that's all I got.
Anzu:Sorry.
Gamemaster:The Quartermaster is going to attempt to stab Johnny.
Gamemaster:Because what else would he do in this situation?
Gamemaster:I'm sorry, he's going to slash Johnny.
Gamemaster:He's not going to stab him.
Gamemaster:It's a cutlass.
Gamemaster:That's a hit.
Johnny:Ow.
Johnny:
Gamemaster:That's going to be 18 points of slashing damage.
Johnny:Ow.
Gamemaster:And then we're going to follow it up with two dagger attacks.
Gamemaster:as one does
Argyle:you could not lethally
Benny:I'm gonna
Anzu:All right.
Gamemaster:that's a miss
Gamemaster:and then that's also a miss
Gamemaster:so that's the end of its turn
Gamemaster:that needs to return
Benny:I don't know if Benny knows how to do that
Argyle:I don't know what that does to a mindscape
Benny:Benny is just
Gamemaster:okay absolutely so egan is going to take uh egan does
Argyle:oh do do control creatures even get it
Benny:Oh, well, that's true.
Johnny:Does that make sense?
Anzu:Then Argyle can act.
Benny:Benny was going to do that anyways.
Benny:Benny was just going to all in the coiled horn.
Benny:One of the shades is blocking it.
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:i mean that is a reasonable question to ask the answer is it doesn't actually matter in
Argyle:no no i i understand and it's also even fair if it's a
Gamemaster:this instance, but that is a good callout. Let me check. Well, I do want to see, I want to double
Benny:If Egan crits and I can't attack this coil, he's going to die.
Argyle:non-pcs get it it'd be controlled let's get it that's also fair
Gamemaster:check what the controlled status effect actually dictates here, because that is interesting.
Benny:Okay.
Gamemaster:Okay, so the controller controls how you act and can make use of any of your actions,
Argyle:Does that use the controller reaction
Gamemaster:including attacks, reactions, or even delay.
Gamemaster:If you controlled you can make use of reactions No it the controlled reactions
Argyle:So when you sustain it...
Gamemaster:The controller doesn't have to spend their own actions
Argyle:When you sustain it, you then get the reactions built in for that turn?
Gamemaster:when controlling you.
Gamemaster:This is...
Gamemaster:So, no, because it's,
Argyle:I'm not trying to catch you here.
Argyle:I'm just trying to understand if I play Necromancer.
Gamemaster:no, it's not a sustained spell.
Gamemaster:There's no sustaining going on.
Argyle:Ah, okay.
Argyle:Because I thought when you controlled things normal, at least for summoners, you have to use that action.
Gamemaster:You're thinking of the minion rules, which is you spend your
Argyle:Ah, okay.
Gamemaster:action to give two actions to the minion. This is not a minion, this is a
Argyle:I see.
Gamemaster:controlled PC. If you just look at the spell dominate you can see
Argyle:I see. Very cool. Very cool.
Gamemaster:like the rules around how the stuff is used. Either way we're going to do a
Argyle:Gotcha, gotcha.
Gamemaster:And a reactive strike on Benny.
Benny:Nice.
Gamemaster:That is a hit.
Gamemaster:But not a crit, so you get to keep moving.
Gamemaster:You're going to take 24 points of damage split between slashing and spirit.
Gamemaster:But you get to keep doing what you were doing.
Benny:Nice.
Benny:Nuken in de Koeken.
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Benny:I forgot, it's something in Dutch.
Gamemaster:right of course
Argyle:Well, it's higher than a five.
Benny:to have sex in the kitchen in Dutch.
Anzu:What is even happening?
Gamemaster:and that
Benny:But this is nuking as in damage.
Gamemaster:that makes sense for Benny to say
Benny:So get your minds out of the gutter.
Gamemaster:Benny's missing is what's happening
Gamemaster:Benny's saying a bunch of Dutch
Gamemaster:and then he's missing
Gamemaster:Benny's saying a lot of Dutch
Benny:We'll see.
Benny:Another miss.
Gamemaster:and then he missing I don know do you want to reseed
Benny:a three Why am I even playing this game Jesus Christ
Benny:Yeah, give me the 17
Benny:on the stupid hook sword.
Gamemaster:Okay, that hits.
Benny:Jesus Christ.
Gamemaster:You were attacking the ghost, right? Okay, absolutely. It takes some damage.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Anything else?
Benny:That's it.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:It's the ghost's turn.
Gamemaster:The ghost couldn't even hear what you were talking about with Kukin and Nukin,
Gamemaster:because it's deaf, because somebody deafened it.
Gamemaster:Let's do a spectral coil attack on you.
Gamemaster:Then it's...
Gamemaster:17 points of void damage.
Gamemaster:And then I think it's gonna float 20 feet up into the air.
Gamemaster:Oh no.
Anzu:Annoying.
Gamemaster:And then it's gonna yell at you.
Gamemaster:The resonant peel.
Gamemaster:Oh wait, I have to roll a flat check on second.
Gamemaster:Oh I rolled poorly so it doesn't really matter anyway.
Gamemaster:Oh, it didn't even get a chance to make that attack.
Gamemaster:Either way, all of that didn't happen.
Gamemaster:But it is still 20 feet in the air.
Argyle:I gonna step over here
Gamemaster:And it Argon turn What you doing Argo
Argyle:and I
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Argyle:out of character
Argyle:I'm going to try to clear his mind
Argyle:I feel like our group
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Argyle:normally would say
Argyle:eh the new guy's gonna die
Argyle:but I'm being a good
Argyle:person in real life.
Gamemaster:I do think, I mean, it depends on if Anzu shared it with you,
Anzu:It feels bad.
Gamemaster:but Argyle would know that what happens if you kill the host of this mind vision inside of it
Gamemaster:is unknown, but almost certainly bad.
Argyle:Oh, I thought
Argyle:I had no idea
Gamemaster:So, yeah, correct.
Argyle:from that film.
Anzu:I mean, I don't know what will happen, but it feels bad.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it's enough to, like, raise Anzu's hackles.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:I don't think birds have that.
Argyle:so i because i'm a cleric i can use a i can convert this to a clear mind at fifth level
Anzu:My feathers are just...
Gamemaster:Feathers?
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:which allows me to attempt to counteract
Gamemaster:What?
Gamemaster:You get to spend one of your
Argyle:yeah yeah uh restorative channel so i can turn this into a cleanse of fiction clear mind sound
Gamemaster:heels to just be a clear mind instead?
Gamemaster:Absolutely. Okay.
Argyle:body or sure footing is clear mind i feel like argyle understands his magic better than me
Gamemaster:Nice.
Gamemaster:Yes. So Argyle would recognize that Egan is being controlled, like controlled, like the condition control, which is what Clear Mind at 4th rank or higher is made to defeat.
Argyle:clear mind would probably be better than cleanse of fiction here i'm guessing because clear mind
Argyle:okay yeah
Argyle:okay and then again how do i counteract
Gamemaster:you're going to roll
Gamemaster:effectively a spell attack roll
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:and you're trying to beat the DC
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:of this particular effect
Gamemaster:which I can
Argyle:should I just like give myself a
Gamemaster:actually I don't have to tell you
Gamemaster:but
Argyle:clear mind or something
Gamemaster:Sure. Yeah, add clear mind into your, like, font, because those are innate spells.
Argyle:Are you?
Argyle:OK.
Gamemaster:And then you can just, yeah, I will, give me one second.
Argyle:Do you know how to do that?
Argyle:You've done all the other ones for me.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:I will do that for you.
Gamemaster:We're going to put it into your cleric font.
Argyle:Yeah, and if later if you can also help me
Argyle:put the cleanse mind sound body in sure footing.
Gamemaster:I can absolutely do those things.
Argyle:Great and I'll manage to.
Gamemaster:Okay, so, yes, at the moment you have clear mind in your font.
Argyle:You don't have to just give me one of each.
Argyle:so I know to click it and I'll convert as cool.
Benny:Oh, shit, I could have attacked the coiled horn.
Anzu:it's 20 feet up
Argyle:So cast that.
Benny:It wasn't before it moved.
Anzu:oh
Anzu:oh
Gamemaster:Yes, you could have taken a reactive strike on it as it tried to leave.
Anzu:oh
Gamemaster:Absolutely, make your counteract check.
Gamemaster:a 27.
Argyle:Wait a second, wait a second.
Argyle:Is this a count?
Johnny:I want to tell you how to use your with.
Anzu:You rolled a 10 on the die.
Argyle:Did I roll a 10?
Argyle:Oh, should I mythic this, guys?
Argyle:That's a 10.
Argyle:But if I mythic, I get an extra 4?
Argyle:Because I'm at master right now.
Gamemaster:You're at expert right now.
Gamemaster:So you get an additional six.
Argyle:Oh, I should mythic.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:A 34 is a success against this 6th rank effect, and since it's a success, this is a 5th rank
Argyle:Let's see.
Argyle:What's up?
Anzu:Hey, 11 is higher.
Argyle:Much better, much better.
Johnny:Better.
Anzu:Oh.
Argyle:All right.
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:clear mind, which means you can dispel up to a 6th rank effect, which dispels the controlled
Argyle:Oh.
Johnny:Whoa.
Gamemaster:condition, and Egan is no
Gamemaster:longer controlled,
Gamemaster:and I have switched his alliance to the party
Johnny:Oh thank God
Argyle:Okay We can heal him later That is Yeah honestly
Argyle:So another thing...
Argyle:So I still have one turn left.
Argyle:Oh, one action left.
Argyle:I just want to...
Argyle:Don't jump me yet.
Gamemaster:Kill him.
Argyle:I'm going to sustain this spell
Argyle:because I can sustain it for a minute.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:That is going to attack Egan.
Gamemaster:Um, no.
Argyle:No, no, I'm going to move it.
Anzu:I think usually it says if you can move it.
Argyle:I can move it, right?
Argyle:Normally we'd usually say no.
Argyle:Or no.
Gamemaster:I'm reading the spell.
Argyle:Okay, okay.
Gamemaster:When you cast the spell,
Gamemaster:and yeah, it would say in the spell
Gamemaster:if you can move it on a sustain.
Gamemaster:This particular spell,
Gamemaster:you can keep doing damage in the area,
Gamemaster:but you cannot move the area.
Argyle:You see,
Argyle:I'm not going to do that to Egan
Argyle:because of the last line.
Argyle:I don't know if you've got to that part.
Gamemaster:A target reduced to zero hit points
Gamemaster:by either damage scatters into fine dust.
Argyle:So I'm not gonna OK OK well.
Anzu:Oh.
Anzu:That would be kind of funny.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:Which almost happened.
Anzu:Happened in the last campaign.
Anzu:Let's disintegrate only Noah's gun characters.
Argyle:Yeah so instead.
Argyle:I will do something different.
Argyle:Sorry, just give me a second.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:I thought I could move that.
Argyle:That's my B.
Gamemaster:Yeah, I'm sorry.
Argyle:That's fair.
Gamemaster:I mean, you could just go for it anyway.
Gamemaster:yeah no it's not allowed to hold a gun that's really that's that's what we're learning here
Argyle:That's Egan.
Johnny:No!
Johnny:No!
Johnny:Seems like the rule.
Gamemaster:that's a crit to treat someone's wounds
Gamemaster:okay egan your wounds are being treated
Johnny:Amazing.
Gamemaster:and now
Argyle:I didn't go for DC 20
Argyle:just because I figured it was worth getting something on the board for you.
Argyle:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:he has enough health for you to unravel reality okay that the end of your turn Then it
Argyle:Yes Yes
Johnny:Thank you Oh nice
Gamemaster:Egan. It's your turn.
Gamemaster:And you have three actions.
Gamemaster:Why are you frightened? I don't think you're frightened anymore.
Gamemaster:You shouldn't be frightened anymore.
Johnny:Egan is going to scream, nobody fucks with Egan Arithmites!
Gamemaster:Oh, you're not.
Johnny:And then I'm going to, because I don't have a bullet in here.
Johnny:First, I will clear a path.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:I'm going to try and shove this guy and reload at the same time.
Johnny:This is all my things. Amazing.
Gamemaster:So you make an athletics check plus one.
Johnny:And because I have Punishing Shove, he takes 20 points of bludgeoning damage.
Gamemaster:That's a critical success.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Johnny:and it's pushed 10 feet away from me and I can stride.
Gamemaster:He has 19 hit points.
Argyle:Does he get to explode after the movement?
Anzu:Oh no.
Gamemaster:You push him so hard, he explodes.
Anzu:Oh no.
Gamemaster:And then the coiled horn is going to make him actually explode
Anzu:Oh.
Gamemaster:with its devour echo.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:Cool.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:We'll say that it's one, two...
Gamemaster:How many?
Gamemaster:Is it five feet?
Gamemaster:Ten feet away.
Gamemaster:Ten feet away.
Johnny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Uh, I don't, yeah, I don't think it matters.
Argyle:Aw.
Benny:Okay.
Anzu:oh no he's closer to me now
Gamemaster:It's 30 feet out from him.
Argyle:But it gets Benny out there.
Gamemaster:Does it?
Anzu:oh did that save benny and it probably saved benny
Gamemaster:Oh, it did save Benny.
Argyle:Josh thinks I only care about myself.
Gamemaster:One second, I'll flip this over so that you can see.
Gamemaster:I do.
Gamemaster:I assume that everyone is selfish.
Argyle:That's not what a good team captain does.
Gamemaster:Um, you're the team captain.
Argyle:I keep everyone alive.
Gamemaster:okay so
Argyle:Together.
Argyle:I'm done.
Gamemaster:Argyle, Johnny, Egan
Gamemaster:Othello and Anzu
Gamemaster:need to attempt this will save What I mean
Johnny:Hello.
Anzu:Josh assumes that everyone is a fishmonger they sell fish
Anzu:wait wait wait wait wait
Gamemaster:Okay, so Anzu automatically critically fails the save.
Anzu:I just regular failed isn't that bad enough
Anzu:I don't know how to make
Gamemaster:Uh...
Anzu:Othello do the targeted saves
Anzu:so I just have to roll it.
Gamemaster:If you click on Othello so that he's your primary token,
Anzu:Oh.
Gamemaster:and then you click the button, it should roll for him.
Anzu:I did the wrong thing anyway.
Anzu:So let me just see.
Gamemaster:I don't know what you're talking about.
Anzu:Where is it?
Anzu:Where's the save?
Gamemaster:Above Argyle, his will save.
Anzu:Oh, here.
Anzu:Okay, who dat?
Anzu:Oh, it worked.
Gamemaster:Othello failed.
Anzu:Great.
Gamemaster:Everybody failed!
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Imagine if you can die right here.
Johnny:Oh my god.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Everybody is going to take
Gamemaster:10 points of mental damage.
Gamemaster:And the shade is no more.
Argyle:Okay.
Johnny:What a nightmare.
Johnny:I still have actions. I still have things to do.
Gamemaster:Yup.
Gamemaster:Yup.
Johnny:Next, I will...
Johnny:This guy is 20 feet in the air.
Johnny:Egan is like 9 feet tall
Gamemaster:Uh, yes.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:Josh if I had a reach
Johnny:of 10 feet would you let me hit this guy
Johnny:even though it's only like 19 feet
Johnny:I know
Gamemaster:No.
Argyle:best case you might get the bottom of her foot too
Gamemaster:We just did the math together.
Gamemaster:9 plus 10 is less than 20.
Johnny:I was hoping if I walked you through it
Gamemaster:It's not 21.
Johnny:I was hoping if I walked you through it
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Johnny:you would be cool about it
Johnny:Am I allowed?
Argyle:like even if you hit just like
Johnny:Yeah.
Argyle:oh
Gamemaster:No!
Argyle:Oh.
Benny:Don't you have a gun?
Johnny:Am I allowed to strike mid-jump?
Anzu:And didn't you just load it?
Gamemaster:No!
Johnny:Yeah, I do have a gun.
Johnny:I have to switch.
Johnny:Uh, yeah.
Gamemaster:You could also climb up here,
Gamemaster:and then you'd be eye-level
Gamemaster:with it. You'd have to climb up there.
Johnny:Uh, who said anything about...
Johnny:Let's see, I have two actions left.
Johnny:Who said anything about climbing?
Gamemaster:I did just now.
Gamemaster:Okay, you are...
Johnny:I use my blast boots.
Argyle:Do all Noah's characters need a pair of blast boots?
Johnny:They're the best item in this game.
Anzu:I mean, they're very utilitarian.
Gamemaster:Okay, you still do have to make the athletics check for the jump.
Johnny:I'm going to stab and blast.
Johnny:Sure.
Johnny:Is this a high jump or a long jump?
Gamemaster:I don't know.
Johnny:I'll make the athletics check either way.
Gamemaster:When you activate a long jump, you increase the horizontal distance,
Gamemaster:but you don't increase the vertical distance, so I think it needs to be a high jump.
Argyle:Or does it need to be both?
Johnny:I don't think it matters.
Anzu:So you don't go over there is what...
Argyle:Can you do both?
Gamemaster:Not at the same time.
Gamemaster:Okay, with a 39, that's a success on your high jump.
Gamemaster:So you increased the vertical distance by 30 feet, so you move 30 feet horizontally.
Gamemaster:Sorry, 35 feet vertically and 5 feet horizontally.
Gamemaster:No. Yeah. Blast boots can either be used to make you go up a lot or horizontally a lot, but you're trying to do both at the same time, which you cannot do.
Johnny:Wait.
Argyle:Thank you you are you good over there or do you need some backup
Johnny:Even if I have powerful leap, which increases both by five feet.
Gamemaster:Okay, so then you get to go up 40 feet and across 10 feet.
Johnny:Okay, where was I? I was back.
Gamemaster:So you can move over here next to the shade, and then you can walk like a plebeian, but that is two actions.
Johnny:I trying to do this in one action I know I don think I can do this in one action That such a bummer
Gamemaster:I sorry
Anzu:Thank you Um this Boson Shade is decently low but it does go
Johnny:Ugh.
Anzu:Oh no, it goes after me.
Anzu:I'm going to try to kill it, especially because the thing used its reaction already.
Argyle:you can try to kill that yeah
Johnny:Okay, I guess I will...
Argyle:Yeah.
Gamemaster:That's fine.
Johnny:I guess I'll jump up here.
Anzu:Or you could...
Johnny:Is that where I can get?
Johnny:To right here?
Gamemaster:Yes, you can get up there.
Johnny:And then I'll just walk over here like a plebe.
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Johnny:So I'm eye level with this guy.
Johnny:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Honestly, it's your turn.
Anzu:Um...
Gamemaster:You can just leave him.
Anzu:I need to kill this shade.
Anzu:Really need to kill this shade.
Gamemaster:He's harmless.
Anzu:Do we think that it can take void damage?
Gamemaster:He hasn't done anything.
Anzu:I guess I'll use...
Gamemaster:You can just leave them.
Anzu:I have to recall knowledge, I think, on this damn thing.
Anzu:We haven't done any void damage to them yet, right?
Gamemaster:To the shades?
Anzu:Yeah.
Gamemaster:No.
Anzu:I need to know if it'll take this.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Make a either occultism or religion check.
Gamemaster:32 is a success.
Gamemaster:weaknesses resistances and they are weak eight to mental damage That it
Anzu:Tell me about Yeah And that it
Anzu:Alright.
Anzu:Alright.
Anzu:Then we use
Anzu:another action
Anzu:for
Anzu:Reach spell.
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Anzu:And then we use
Anzu:our third action to Flourish Cast
Anzu:a 4th level
Anzu:vampiric feast.
Gamemaster:Nice.
Gamemaster:Okay, he makes a fort save.
Gamemaster:Bad. He fails.
Anzu:Amazing.
Anzu:Oh, those are kind of low.
Gamemaster:So that is the same amount of HP it has, so it does die.
Gamemaster:and the coiled horn cannot yoink it
Anzu:Holy crap.
Anzu:That's my turn.
Johnny:All right.
Gamemaster:so it just ceases to exist
Gamemaster:you can gain 13 points of temporary HP
Gamemaster:if you like
Gamemaster:okay
Gamemaster:Johnny it's your turn
Gamemaster:your dirge has ended
Johnny:That's a huge bummer.
Johnny:I will first jog right over here.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:Must be 25.
Johnny:Then,
Argyle:it's gonna be so funny if the ghost just goes to the side five feet
Johnny:jog a little closer.
Johnny:Then I'll get my dirge
Johnny:back up.
Argyle:but the ghost i just realized why would it stay there it's totally gonna not be next to the
Johnny:There's a part of me, honestly,
Gamemaster:Thank you You got a 40 which is a crit
Johnny:I have a spell that makes a creature prone and I there a part of me that trying so hard not to troll my own character
Argyle:nine foot tall or the nine foot tall creature controlled It knows you have a reach
Johnny:40.
Johnny:Amazing.
Gamemaster:The dirge is back.
Johnny:Let's see here.
Johnny:It's going to go back to Benny.
Gamemaster:uh it nope do you have to target the creature standing on the ground
Benny:It's not...
Johnny:Yeah, Johnny doesn't care what is happening with Egan.
Johnny:I cast Dimensional Drop on this thing.
Benny:Yeah.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:yeah
Johnny:Oh, really?
Johnny:Oh, God.
Gamemaster:I'm sorry
Johnny:The wording on spells is getting me today.
Johnny:In that case, I'll just cast synesthesia.
Gamemaster:okay
Gamemaster:okay
Johnny:If it will...
Johnny:Why is it not showing up?
Johnny:There we go.
Johnny:I'll cast synesthesia on this guy.
Gamemaster:we'll save
Gamemaster:we'll save
Gamemaster:I got a success, 38. Oh sorry, that's a critical success.
Johnny:All right, so it's synesthesia for...
Gamemaster:Your DC is 27.
Johnny:Um, that's a saving throw?
Gamemaster:Yeah, got a 38 on my saving throw. Okay.
Johnny:Try again.
Gamemaster:Just a regular success this time.
Johnny:Okay, it's synesthesia for one round.
Gamemaster:Yeah, get synesthesiaed.
Johnny:yeah that's all I got
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Gamemaster:Benny, it's your turn.
Benny:So what are my options for getting up this wall?
Gamemaster:There's a ladder, but there's a nine-foot tall man standing directly in front of it,
Gamemaster:which will make it kind of hard to get up there.
Benny:That's fine.
Gamemaster:Yeah, he's an ally.
Benny:Isn't he technically an ally?
Benny:I can chill in his space.
Gamemaster:You can't stay in his space, but you can pass through.
Benny:How much is it difficult to rain that it's a ladder?
Gamemaster:No, it's fine.
Benny:I'm not explicitly climbing.
Gamemaster:You can just climb up it.
Gamemaster:It is 20 feet vertically, but because it's a ladder you don't actually need to make any checks.
Benny:Okay.
Benny:So just one move action?
Gamemaster:Uh, no, it'd be... we'll add... like it's 10 to get to it and then another 20 to go up it,
Gamemaster:so it's 30 feet total to get to the top.
Benny:So one move action.
Gamemaster:Okay, sure. You can't end there, you have to be somewhere else though.
Benny:It's Benny.
Benny:Oh, okay.
Benny:Okay.
Benny:uh well now I can't select penny oh wait I can do this oh I know I can't how do I
Gamemaster:Eekigan is so big.
Benny:that works
Benny:I'll move them here and then you can move them back
Gamemaster:Hope that didn't work.
Gamemaster:Okay, move him somewhere.
Benny:so i'm eye level with this thing and it's more than five feet away
Gamemaster:Yep, that's fine.
Gamemaster:Oops, there we go.
Benny:the only things i can think of cost two actions to get me closer to this
Gamemaster:You are eye level with it,
Gamemaster:and it is 10 feet away from you right now.
Benny:and I will not have an action to strike.
Benny:So I'll just be standing next to it.
Benny:But if it tries to use an ability Actually yeah let do that So I would like to Jumping is one action Let me pull it up
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Jumping is one action that will be what is your movement speed 35 yeah so you you already had to spend two actions to
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:get where you are right now so you only have one action left no it's 30 feet it's 30 feet to get
Benny:I thought I just meant one.
Benny:It was ten.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:up to oh you're saying you you ended up one to the left and then no you you still where you are
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:right now is not next to the ladder. Oh, you have 35 feet. Okay, I understand. Yes, you're fine.
Benny:It's five.
Benny:Yeah.
Benny:Okay.
Gamemaster:Take it back.
Benny:So jump.
Benny:Let me just look at the rules for jump explicitly.
Benny:Is jump not a single action?
Gamemaster:Jump is a single action. Oh, sorry, we're talking about jump the spell. Are you trying to do a long
Gamemaster:jump or a high jump? Both of those are two actions. Yes, doing a jump is two actions.
Benny:I'm just...
Gamemaster:The jump spell is one action.
Benny:But I just want to jump five feet.
Argyle:I can help you out, Benny, if you wait a turn.
Gamemaster:You can't.
Gamemaster:Too bad.
Benny:I have to either jump 15 or zero horizontally.
Gamemaster:No, it's up to 15.
Gamemaster:If you want to jump, it's two actions.
Gamemaster:Oh, just leap?
Benny:Wait, hold on.
Benny:Leap?
Benny:Oh, there's a leak.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:You're just doing a leap.
Gamemaster:I don't know what you're doing, so I can't really help.
Benny:I want to spend one action and move five feet towards this at the same level.
Gamemaster:Okay, and then what?
Gamemaster:Because you're just going to fall down.
Benny:No, I won't.
Benny:I am going to activate.
Benny:This one's not a joke.
Benny:Josh is double checking the specking I did today.
Gamemaster:When you release an icon you can spend an action to command it to remain motionless
Benny:I'm going to activate only the worthy.
Benny:and I going to freeze my hook sword in midair
Benny:You thought that I couldn't anticipate
Benny:a flying enemy being one of Benny's
Benny:weaknesses. He has two
Benny:immovable rods in his hands, Josh.
Gamemaster:That's true, he does.
Gamemaster:Okay, so you're leaping.
Gamemaster:You're jabbing your sword into it and then you're commanding it to stay?
Argyle:That is terrifying.
Benny:I'm just commanding, I can't get close enough.
Benny:I'm just commanding it to stay.
Benny:I'm just, I'm in a, in a holding pattern.
Gamemaster:I like I'm just I'm just trying to think what are you trying to do with this then?
Argyle:If I was a ghost, I'd run.
Gamemaster:Like what is the goal here?
Argyle:Be within a...
Benny:I'm within five feet of it.
Benny:Should it want to try anything suspicious?
Gamemaster:Okay, so you're just hanging there in the air holding on to your sword?
Benny:And if it stays within five feet at the end of my turn, it will get hit.
Benny:If I had one more action, I would swing.
Gamemaster:Okay, absolutely, sure.
Gamemaster:If you're just, you're just trying to jump the five feet,
Gamemaster:so I don't think I'm going to make you roll the athletics check for the leap.
Gamemaster:Oh, actually, you don't have to.
Gamemaster:For a regular leap, you just do it.
Gamemaster:Yeah, okay.
Gamemaster:Then he jumps five feet in the air, and his sword stops falling, and now he's hanging from it like a monkey bar.
Argyle:They hit it with my fully.
Gamemaster:Just in the air.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:It's the coiled horn's turn.
Benny:Bumsy three, synesthesia, yeah.
Anzu:Did he get rocked by something?
Gamemaster:Why is the coiled horn clumsy?
Gamemaster:Why does it say that it's clumsy?
Gamemaster:From what?
Gamemaster:Oh, synesthesia.
Gamemaster:Synesthesia.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Ready?
Gamemaster:Benny,
Gamemaster:the coiled horn is going to attempt to
Argyle:Go.
Argyle:Ready?
Gamemaster:claim your mind.
Argyle:Go.
Benny:Nice.
Argyle:Ready Go Ready Go Ready Go It isn Capacitude
Gamemaster:Can you roll this wheel save for me please Auditory concentrate divine incapacitation and mental No
Benny:Uh Is this an interact
Gamemaster:Yes, but it is a higher level than Benny.
Argyle:Damn it.
Gamemaster:Did you think it wasn't?
Argyle:Betty.
Argyle:Oh.
Argyle:Yes, Betty.
Gamemaster:A success!
Gamemaster:You hear
Gamemaster:for a very brief
Gamemaster:moment in the back of your mind, Benny,
Gamemaster:the sound of a melody
Gamemaster:unfamiliar to you.
Gamemaster:But just through sheer force of will, you force it out of your head.
Argyle:Oh, but he's not a spellcaster, so it's fine.
Gamemaster:Unfortunately, the force of doing that does leave you stupefied.
Gamemaster:But he is not...
Gamemaster:He is not dominated.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Oh, did this have the concentrate?
Gamemaster:This had the concentrate check.
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:Okay, it was able to do that.
Gamemaster:Uh, you're right, I have to make two.
Benny:So it was auditory?
Gamemaster:Both of them went through, it was able to attempt it.
Benny:Just in case.
Gamemaster:Um, unfortunately that was two actions.
Gamemaster:I guess for its third action...
Gamemaster:Yeah, we're still going for it.
Gamemaster:Benny is hanging in the air in front of it, I think it just has to go for Benny.
Gamemaster:It's gonna do another resonant peel just right in his face.
Gamemaster:Let's roll to see if I'm allowed to do that.
Gamemaster:I am.
Gamemaster:That is a hit.
Benny:Back of opportunity.
Gamemaster:This ghost just yells in your face.
Gamemaster:And you get 19 points of damage.
Gamemaster:No.
Gamemaster:It's just an attack.
Benny:It is a it's a range strike.
Gamemaster:Oh, you're right.
Gamemaster:It is a ranged strike.
Gamemaster:That hits.
Gamemaster:So you take 19 points of damage.
Gamemaster:And then you return...
Gamemaster:17 points of damage.
Gamemaster:Minus some because of its inbuilt resistances.
Gamemaster:but you've done some damage to it.
Gamemaster:Next up is Arch-ile.
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Argyle:great great great great great
Benny:I think Benny cuts through resistance as well enough.
Argyle:I was going to try to air walk Benny
Argyle:but that's a touch spell
Argyle:which would have been really funny
Argyle:to just see Benny
Argyle:I will instead cast a different spell
Benny:I think we need spells.
Argyle:yeah
Benny:No, I mean, we have the equipment somewhere, I think, in the party.
Gamemaster:Holy Light.
Argyle:Holy light.
Johnny:Holy light.
Argyle:Like an attack.
Gamemaster:Make a ranged spell attack against...
Gamemaster:Who are you attacking?
Argyle:The the big flying evil ghost.
Gamemaster:Yeah, sure.
Gamemaster:You just gotta check sometimes, you know?
Argyle:Yeah. That's OK, I'm gonna mythic it, it's fine.
Argyle:My last mythic.
Benny:Oh, Jesus.
Gamemaster:Because it's clumsy, that hits.
Argyle:Oh, yes, yes.
Argyle:World damage.
Argyle:Those are actually really bad rolls.
Gamemaster:Nice.
Argyle:That's so sad.
Argyle:then I will
Gamemaster:45 points of damage reduced some, because it is resistant to some of that damage.
Gamemaster:But you've definitely done some damage to it.
Gamemaster:Uh, okay.
Johnny:Okay.
Argyle:here
Argyle:that's better
Argyle:oh wait no I have one more action
Gamemaster:Egan.
Gamemaster:Not Egan.
Argyle:I'm gonna raise my shield
Gamemaster:Egan.
Argyle:Thank you Is that the ghost or the amulet
Johnny:Okay.
Johnny:How far away is this guy from me?
Gamemaster:Ten feet.
Johnny:Okay Well then I will enter my Stretching Reach stance
Gamemaster:Thank you absolutely
Gamemaster:absolutely
Gamemaster:okay
Johnny:Uh... and now I will Stab and Blast.
Gamemaster:who are you stabbing and blasting
Gamemaster:okay
Johnny:Uh... the Coiled Horn.
Gamemaster:make your attacks
Johnny:Uh...
Gamemaster:That's the ghost. The ghost is the coiled horn, the amulet is the whalebone necklace.
Argyle:is that on egan still
Benny:Like, Jesus.
Johnny:So Josh, I see...
Anzu:Oh, yeah.
Gamemaster:No, the necklace is on the ghost. The ghost is wearing the necklace. And is the
Argyle:ah
Argyle:i see i see
Johnny:Like, Jesus.
Gamemaster:necklace. Simultaneously.
Johnny:Josh, I see that on the...
Gamemaster:I think that's a heresy. Sorry.
Johnny:On my big gunsword, since it's a combination weapon,
Johnny:I should have the same proficiency for the range for the gun as for the sword.
Gamemaster:One second.
Johnny:But I think it's lower.
Johnny:Sorry.
Gamemaster:It's giving you...
Gamemaster:Let me see.
Gamemaster:It's giving you plus two to the ranged attack because of stab and blast.
Johnny:Oh, I understand.
Johnny:I thought that was a separate thing.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:I understand now.
Johnny:That was my bad.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:This is a new character.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:We're good.
Johnny:I will stab and then attempt to blast.
Johnny:If this works.
Gamemaster:The stab does not work.
Johnny:We're trying again.
Gamemaster:The stab does work that time.
Johnny:Nice.
Johnny:I will roll damage, then I will roll my blast.
Johnny:And this...
Johnny:Because it's astral, it has...
Gamemaster:Absolutely yes because it an astral sword it does have Ghost Touch so it takes the full damage
Johnny:It should cut through whatever stuff it has because it an astral sword And now I will blast
Anzu:you So anyway
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:That's a crit.
Johnny:Oh, I should have rolled critical.
Gamemaster:That's a very good roll.
Gamemaster:I'll just click the double button, it's fine.
Johnny:Ah, I rolled the wrong button.
Johnny:Wait, don't ignore that.
Anzu:Oh boy, do things happen?
Johnny:Oh.
Gamemaster:That's an additional 38 points of damage, which means that the Coiled Horn is now bloodied!
Gamemaster:Things do happen.
Gamemaster:Unfortunately, they just happened to Egan.
Anzu:Oh no.
Gamemaster:Egan, I need you to attempt this Fortitude save.
Anzu:That's bad.
Anzu:Oh, this is so bad.
Johnny:Yeah, I appreciate it.
Gamemaster:You know what?
Johnny:Wow, it could not be worse.
Argyle:I'm deafened, Benny.
Benny:Oh.
Anzu:Oh, it couldn't be worse.
Gamemaster:One second.
Johnny:Uh...
Gamemaster:That was a critical failure.
Gamemaster:I'm going to roll this first just to see if it was allowed to do that.
Johnny:Ooh!
Gamemaster:Egan, you're fine.
Anzu:Oh my god.
Gamemaster:I rolled a two, and it is an auditory effect, so it doesn't get to do it because of synesthesia.
Johnny:Amazing.
Anzu:Feel sick.
Gamemaster:Sorry, not auditory.
Johnny:Uh...
Benny:Steel on steel.
Gamemaster:It's not auditory.
Gamemaster:It was concentration.
Gamemaster:It is because of the synesthesia.
Johnny:For my third action, I will reload.
Benny:Oh.
Gamemaster:It just didn't get to do it.
Anzu:Are you guys getting these little pop-ups?
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Gamemaster:Either way, Egan, it's still your turn?
Gamemaster:Or was that the end of your turn?
Johnny:Actually, how?
Johnny:No, I don't want to push this thing too far away from Benny.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:I will reload.
Johnny:That was my turn.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:That means...
Gamemaster:Yeah, every time he reloads,
Gamemaster:there's a little text box that says,
Gamemaster:Egan reloaded!
Anzu:It was kind of cute.
Gamemaster:It's just Egan
Gamemaster:yelling out, reloading, every time
Johnny:That was my turn
Gamemaster:he does it so that the rest of the team is aware Anzu keeps his mind burn going Whatcha doing He strides He
Benny:Hopefully I reloading I will be overloading
Anzu:you I stride
Anzu:And then...
Gamemaster:just has an aneurysm and dies. I think you should have to roll the d1 million every turn.
Anzu:Yes, I give up.
Benny:Damn.
Gamemaster:And if you get a one, that's it.
Anzu:spontaneous combustion
Anzu:right
Gamemaster:Yeah, we just need to be more realistic and add in things like spontaneous combustion.
Anzu:we will reach spell
Anzu:with an action
Anzu:and then we're going to cast slow on the coiled horn
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:I think that's a success.
Argyle:He's real injured, so is Egan.
Benny:Yeah, I would heal Egan.
Johnny:Right.
Anzu:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:So it is slowed, but just for one round.
Anzu:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Johnny.
Argyle:Phil's on Zoom.
Gamemaster:Egan is injured.
Gamemaster:You could finish him off.
Johnny:I yeah, I think I'll kill my own character.
Argyle:We could.
Anzu:That is kind of spicy.
Argyle:Do you want me to?
Gamemaster:On the ghost?
Argyle:Of course you're going to heal your own character.
Benny:Wait, what the hell?
Johnny:Yeah, I think let's kill Egan. Uh, no, I will...
Johnny:I will cast Soothe on Egan.
Gamemaster:On the ghost?
Argyle:I see how this.
Gamemaster:Yeah, this is favoritism.
Johnny:Uh...
Johnny:What just happened?
Gamemaster:You did cast it on the ghost!
Johnny:No, I didn't mean to do that!
Gamemaster:The ghost heals 40 hit points.
Johnny:I didn't mean to do...
Johnny:No...
Johnny:No, I did not mean to heal.
Benny:We just all turned to Johnny.
Benny:wait what
Argyle:Egan I'm so sorry we should have been hitting Johnny
Gamemaster:um
Johnny:No! Josh, put that down! Reverse that! Reverse that! Reverse those hit points!
Anzu:Johnny's been listening to the Herald song the whole time.
Johnny:That's one action. Second action, I will bone mow the coiled horn.
Gamemaster:i the bon mo fails it's death it cannot hear your provocation
Anzu:Darn it.
Johnny:Oh.
Johnny:Well, uh
Gamemaster:Like, regardless of what you roll.
Benny:Yay.
Johnny:Well, that's kind of all I got
Johnny:I have pretty much just auditory things
Gamemaster:Yeah, I'm so sorry.
Johnny:Uh
Johnny:I guess I'll jog over here
Johnny:Nope, does that not get beacon in there?
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:Alright, well, I won't do that, I'm going to stay right there
Johnny:That's my turn
Gamemaster:Benny.
Gamemaster:Benny.
Gamemaster:It's your turn.
Benny:Benny
Benny:undoing his shackles
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Benny:of
Benny:dependence
Benny:will activate some fast healing.
Gamemaster:Give yourself a little repair module.
Benny:And then
Benny:Benny undoing his shackles
Benny:of the
Benny:weekly schedule we have
Benny:he will give himself a mythic point
Benny:instead of waiting for next week to get one at the beginning
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Benny:of the session
Benny:and then he will strike
Benny:with his free hands
Benny:because his other hand is
Benny:holding a hook sword that is
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Benny:embedded in time
Benny:and he will immediately
Benny:use his newfound mythic power
Gamemaster:Absolutely Like that
Benny:hold on I have to give myself a mythic point just want one crit on this dumb thing Let go
Gamemaster:That's a good crit.
Benny:Oh, it's below half health?
Gamemaster:It is Blowheaven.
Benny:Oh, shit.
Benny:Oh, shit.
Gamemaster:Nice.
Gamemaster:Nice.
Benny:Big money, no whammies.
Gamemaster:72 points of damage.
Argyle:Yes, Nash.
Benny:And they're off guard.
Anzu:It's slow.
Gamemaster:Minus some, but it is still standing.
Benny:All right, that's a turn.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:It's the Coilthorn's turn.
Gamemaster:It is slow. It's slow, it's off-guard, and it's at this point a little worried about moving,
Gamemaster:although I think the funniness of just leaving Benny hanging out there is worth it.
Argyle:Why didn't it just step?
Benny:reactive strike
Johnny:Reactor strike.
Gamemaster:So I think it is just going to...
Gamemaster:Just move over there.
Gamemaster:Oh yeah, you both get to reactive strike. Go for it.
Gamemaster:Because it needs to be further back.
Gamemaster:It doesn't know if Benny has range.
Argyle:Oh, also, can you step while flying?
Gamemaster:That's two hits.
Gamemaster:I don't think there's anything that says that you can't.
Argyle:Cool.
Gamemaster:Let me see.
Gamemaster:You carefully move five feet.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Oh, no.
Gamemaster:You can't step using a speed other than your land speed.
Gamemaster:It cannot step while flying.
Gamemaster:Okay, let's do 9 points of damage from Benny and 24 full points of damage from Egan.
Gamemaster:It is mortal!
Gamemaster:I think it still on this Benny we going to try and claim your mind again
Benny:Oh oh oh oh No mind claim
Gamemaster:This will save the place.
Gamemaster:33 is a success.
Gamemaster:So you're just going to continue to be stupefied.
Gamemaster:That's the end of its turn.
Gamemaster:It doesn't really have much it can do at this point.
Argyle:I hate this fucking spirit.
Benny:Oh, okay.
Gamemaster:Alright guys, let's return.
Argyle:I think it gives a bad name to angelic creature or other worldly creatures.
Gamemaster:It is technically divine.
Argyle:So.
Argyle:Yeah, so I'm going to I'm going to give it a divine wrath.
Gamemaster:Yeah, that's fair.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:um
Argyle:This is an area of effect, so I'm not sure if it can hit the necklace.
Gamemaster:area of effects can hit the necklace
Gamemaster:uh but spirit damage can't
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:but I will make
Argyle:Cool.
Argyle:So I'm not going to place that because we know where it's going to be.
Gamemaster:I will make a fort save for just
Gamemaster:the ghost the ghost rolled well
Gamemaster:the ghost succeeds but not critically
Gamemaster:uh 19
Gamemaster:halved.
Gamemaster:Uh, my...
Gamemaster:Yeah, no.
Gamemaster:That's nine points,
Gamemaster:which is enough.
Gamemaster:The coiled horn
Gamemaster:dies,
Argyle:I don't get how you get to do this
Anzu:Don't touch it yet.
Gamemaster:and the necklace falls down to the ground.
Argyle:fine
Gamemaster:You don't.
Gamemaster:The necklace falls to the ground.
Argyle:um
Argyle:uh
Argyle:that was one action because it's flourished
Argyle:uh
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Argyle:yeah
Argyle:I'm trying to decide what should I do
Argyle:I'll put it
Argyle:go stand here And then I ready my shield I don see that buff being applied to me when I click my ready shield
Gamemaster:That's because it wasn't.
Gamemaster:You just sent the action into the chat.
Gamemaster:You haven't actually raised a shield.
Argyle:That's goofy.
Gamemaster:Now you've...
Gamemaster:Oh, actually, it still says that you haven't raised a shield.
Gamemaster:One second, let me look at your active effects.
Gamemaster:You do not have the shield raised status on it.
Argyle:So I have the ray shield action and then when I click that it then showed me the effect
Anzu:It looked like it quickly edited and removed it.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Now you have the raise of shield.
Anzu:I don't know why it would do that, but...
Gamemaster:I don't know what difference you just did there.
Gamemaster:What did you do that time that was different?
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Argyle:and then I drag the effect.
Anzu:Yeah.
Gamemaster:All right, so then it's Eakins' turn.
Argyle:Yeah, I can treat wounds myself.
Benny:The necklace.
Johnny:I think I should shoot this thing.
Anzu:you can probably shoot the necklace
Argyle:I think I did that. Never mind.
Gamemaster:I think it's your turn.
Gamemaster:That's true.
Johnny:Should we attack the necklace?
Benny:The necklace.
Johnny:Yeah, isn't the...
Johnny:There's no one else running around
Johnny:that's in danger right now, right?
Argyle:Did Anzu make a
Benny:There's Johnny and Anzu.
Johnny:I'll just
Anzu:I've not done the necklace yet.
Johnny:I'll just jog on down here
Argyle:Anzu made a recall knowledge against
Argyle:the spirit, not the necklace, right?
Gamemaster:Correct.
Argyle:Alright, you might want to
Argyle:You can identify without touching it, right?
Argyle:being big is difficult
Gamemaster:You are currently standing on top of Argyle, which is not a thing you can end an action
Gamemaster:doing.
Gamemaster:So you gotta end somewhere else.
Johnny:oh
Johnny:Can I have gone instead of gone?
Gamemaster:What's your move speed?
Johnny:from over to here to be next to him.
Gamemaster:Because it's 20 feet to get down the ladder, and then once you're at the base of the ladder
Gamemaster:you can move wherever you like.
Johnny:Okay, so it's 20 feet down.
Johnny:I think my movement speed is only 30.
Johnny:So 20, and then 10 over to,
Gamemaster:It can be here.
Gamemaster:The necklace is 10 feet from you.
Johnny:and then how far is the necklace?
Johnny:The necklace is 10 feet from me.
Argyle:It's 10 feet.
Johnny:Great.
Johnny:I will stab and blast it.
Argyle:I thought it was 25.
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:I hadn't reduced his elevation yet.
Argyle:Okay.
Johnny:I will stab and blast the necklace.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:You miss.
Johnny:Wow, that's a bummer.
Johnny:I don't blast it.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:Third action, I'll try and hit it again, but just a regular hit.
Anzu:um oh geez all right uh the first thing i'm gonna do
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:I'll clean this again.
Johnny:Oof.
Johnny:Also missed.
Johnny:That's my turn.
Gamemaster:I'll see.
Anzu:is have Othello
Gamemaster:Thank you you Sorry where are you
Johnny:.
Anzu:heal me.
Anzu:You restore a number of your points
Anzu:equal to 1d8 times
Anzu:f48. Okay, cool.
Anzu:oh that not who supposed to get that Then I will move my speed
Anzu:Am I able to stand here, or am I, like, on the thing?
Anzu:I went down.
Gamemaster:No, that's fine.
Anzu:And then I will use my third action to recall knowledge.
Gamemaster:You can stay in there.
Gamemaster:That's okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Anzu:The necklace, of course.
Gamemaster:That will be an occultism or religion check.
Anzu:I am a cult.
Anzu:Hmm.
Anzu:Let's re-roll it with mythic.
Anzu:Oh wow, terrible. I learned nothing. Or I learned wrong stuff? Kind of hard to say how...
Gamemaster:One second.
Argyle:You don't have that feat that stops incorrect information, right?
Anzu:...well, meta.
Gamemaster:Oh, you critically failed.
Gamemaster:You recall incorrect information.
Gamemaster:What do you want to learn?
Anzu:I mean...
Anzu:I do have some feats
Anzu:but I don't think
Anzu:I don't think I have it
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Is it dubious knowledge?
Argyle:No, I don't think so.
Gamemaster:It is... oh no, it's not dubious knowledge.
Argyle:But there's one that literally makes it so you don't learn nothing.
Argyle:Like you just learn nothing if it's a failure.
Anzu:I don't think so
Argyle:Okay.
Gamemaster:What is it?
Anzu:I have.
Gamemaster:I'm trying to get a skill with the...
Gamemaster:I don't know what the feat is.
Gamemaster:I know what you're talking about, Jorge.
Anzu:Yeah.
Gamemaster:You recall incorrect information.
Gamemaster:Give me... what do you want to learn?
Anzu:Tell me what it is resistant to I don know
Gamemaster:Absolutely It is immune to bleed disease drained fatigued healing mental paralyzed
Benny:you What
Johnny:you Oh God
Gamemaster:poison, sickened, sleep, unconscious, vitality, and void. It has no weaknesses or resistances.
Gamemaster:That's the end of your turn?
Anzu:Guys, it has no weaknesses.
Anzu:It can't be vanquished.
Anzu:That's my turn.
Argyle:you can try some vitality
Johnny:Jeez, I don't know.
Anzu:Yeah, I used...
Anzu:Yeah, that was three actions.
Gamemaster:Johnny, it's your turn.
Johnny:Johnny can't do anything against this thing.
Johnny:I can drop a rainbow on it.
Argyle:I'd be scared about dropping the rainbow.
Johnny:the best I can do
Argyle:Having to teleport around,
Argyle:that sounds terrible.
Johnny:I'll just
Johnny:I'll just haste Benny
Johnny:we're a little late in the fight
Johnny:but
Johnny:why not
Johnny:there we go
Gamemaster:Okay.
Johnny:also how's everyone looking
Johnny:yeah that's kind of all I got right now
Benny:I'll do it.
Johnny:I guess I'll jog a little closer.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn, then?
Johnny:Kind of get right here behind our Argyle.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Johnny:That is the end of my turn.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Before we get to Benny, it's the bottom of the initiative.
Gamemaster:Can I have somebody do me a favor and roll a d8?
Johnny:Oh no.
Benny:do we kill the Menhir again no not again Not again
Gamemaster:Okay.
Anzu:right Uh
Gamemaster:The Menhir all die You watch as this shade four right next to Anzu poofs into a burst of black smoke and then
Gamemaster:gets drawn into the whalebone necklace.
Gamemaster:Okay, Benny, it's your turn.
Benny:Be careful.
Gamemaster:Benny, you get some fast healing.
Benny:Nice.
Gamemaster:Uh, no, um, the coiled horn was destroyed.
Benny:um
Anzu:Things are bad.
Benny:yeah
Benny:I however you want to rule
Benny:this Josh just know that the
Benny:coiled horn was hit with
Benny:red gold mortality so
Benny:it does have to make a will save if it's
Benny:the same creature because Benny hit it
Benny:okay
Benny:I just I just
Gamemaster:I'm sorry.
Benny:very yeah
Gamemaster:No, I understand.
Benny:so
Gamemaster:I get it.
Benny:Benny will spend two actions
Benny:one, un-interacting
Benny:so that he takes his sword with him
Benny:and he will swing over
Benny:back to the deck
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:uh, and then he has
Benny:two more actions, one that has to be a
Benny:stride or strike
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Benny:pace lets you strike
Benny:uh, he will descend the ladder
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Benny:that is 20 feet
Benny:uh
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Benny:so he has 15 oh wait
Gamemaster:Mm-hmm.
Argyle:Oh.
Johnny:That's me.
Anzu:I wonder if you can hit the shade with your...
Benny:this shades here
Benny:his 15 feet of movement
Benny:yeah
Anzu:Or no, who had the spirit ghost touches kind of thing?
Johnny:That's Egan.
Benny:15 feet left
Johnny:Egan.
Johnny:Always, always compare the two.
Benny:then he will roll up to the whale bone
Benny:and I can attack
Benny:I'm just surprised that I managed to get one
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:If you want, I'm not going to stop you.
Benny:glorious
Johnny:Oh.
Gamemaster:Ooh.
Benny:they're not
Gamemaster:That's a crit.
Johnny:It happened.
Gamemaster:58, not bad.
Benny:below half HP, but hopefully they will be soon.
Benny:Yeah, this all checks out.
Benny:Big money no whammies.
Benny:Big money no whammies on the dice.
Gamemaster:You slam, which one was this, your Felcutta, into it,
Benny:Oh, jeez, yeah.
Benny:Alrighty, that's the turn.
Gamemaster:and you take a good chunk of damage out of it.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Argyle:No. Spirit damage hasn't been.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:All right, Gaia, let's return.
Argyle:Barting it. Uh?
Argyle:Maybe I just do.
Argyle:Yes, I'll just do. Yeah, sorry.
Argyle:I'll just make a strike.
Argyle:With my battle action.
Argyle:Uh?
Argyle:Yeah, OK, one thing first.
Argyle:I will cast. Now I'll just make a strike.
Argyle:Strike.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:Critical miss.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:I don't know why it's only plus 5.
Gamemaster:Your attack?
Argyle:Oh, I'm untrained with that?
Gamemaster:Yeah, do you have training in weaponry?
Argyle:Oh, I forgot with the change of the class, I guess.
Argyle:I'm surprised I have nothing.
Gamemaster:One second.
Gamemaster:Let see what clerics get Clerics are trained in simple weapons Oh I know what it is you using your bastard sword oh you used a battle axe yeah the the bastard sword was the
Argyle:All right Yeah
Gamemaster:weapon we agreed that was the judges thing so that should count your battle
Gamemaster:axe is not so you're not trained in that
Argyle:Oh.
Argyle:Could I have used Battle Axe?
Gamemaster:Bastard Sword?
Argyle:Or no.
Argyle:Yes, yes.
Gamemaster:Yes, you can
Gamemaster:if you want. Just roll with that instead.
Argyle:OK.
Gamemaster:Excuse me.
Gamemaster:It still misses.
Argyle:Alright, that's fair.
Argyle:I don't really have much to do with melee
Argyle:attacks, so I will just.
Argyle:cleansing affliction.
Gamemaster:What is the name?
Argyle:Does that work on items?
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:The affliction.
Argyle:No.
Gamemaster:Cleanse Affliction?
Argyle:What's
Gamemaster:Pushes back the effects of toxins or other maladies,
Argyle:Hmm.
Gamemaster:like curses, diseases, or poisons.
Gamemaster:So I think the argument here is that the necklace is cursing things.
Gamemaster:It is not itself cursed in the way that cleanse affliction is meant to apply.
Gamemaster:That end, you have to target a willing creature,
Gamemaster:and the wellbone is neither willing nor a creature.
Argyle:That's fair. I'm sorry,
Argyle:let me just take one more thing then look.
Gamemaster:But I will put it into your font so that in the future you can cast it.
Argyle:Uh?
Argyle:Beaker. Just fixing towers.
Argyle:Uh, it's not clear mind, not sound body.
Argyle:Alright, I guess I will just uh. Yeah.
Gamemaster:So don't select the adamantine option.
Argyle:It noodle darts I guess I don know Just do that Yeah I just do that Yeah
Johnny:you All right
Argyle:Oh.
Argyle:Needle darts.
Argyle:Adamantine.
Argyle:I don't have Adamantine.
Argyle:OK.
Argyle:But it gave me an option to.
Argyle:That means I have it.
Gamemaster:That's not how that works.
Benny:ah
Johnny:That's how that works.
Gamemaster:Okay, that was a critical miss.
Argyle:You know what?
Argyle:I'm just going to move over here.
Argyle:That's it.
Argyle:That was actually with higher map than it should have had anyway.
Johnny:All right.
Gamemaster:Uh, Egan's turn.
Argyle:I mean, it had no map, which it should have.
Gamemaster:Yeah, it should have had Matt, it's fine.
Argyle:So...
Gamemaster:Egan, it's your turn.
Johnny:I'm going to try and stat and blast this thing again.
Gamemaster:If you want.
Gamemaster:It's really posing a real, um, real danger to you guys.
Gamemaster:Oh, there we go, that's a crit.
Johnny:I'll do the crit damage before blasting, in case I don't need to.
Gamemaster:50 points of damage.
Gamemaster:This thing only has 12 health left.
Gamemaster:Excellent.
Gamemaster:Before we get to the how do you want to do this,
Gamemaster:I do unfortunately need you to make a will save Egan
Gamemaster:because you did the cleansing.
Gamemaster:Oh, no, that's not what I meant to do at all.
Gamemaster:Ignore that.
Gamemaster:I clicked the wrong button.
Gamemaster:I want you to attempt this little save.
Johnny:Is this 24 a failure?
Gamemaster:Oh, the 24 was what you did? Yeah, the 24 is a failure.
Johnny:Johnny, will you use such a disgrace?
Gamemaster:Yeah, that works!
Johnny:I have two characters right now.
Gamemaster:Absolutely! You have a plus one circumstance bonus.
Gamemaster:Oh, but you rolled worse.
Johnny:How is it even worse?
Benny:you you oh
Johnny:you I have two actions left
Gamemaster:Absolutely The whalebone explodes into nothingness
Gamemaster:Egan, I would love it if you could...
Gamemaster:How many actions do you have left on your turn?
Gamemaster:Okay, can you take one to step closer to Benny and then take your second one to hit him in the face really hard?
Benny:Does he appear to be hostile?
Johnny:Yeah, sorry, Benny.
Johnny:Okay.
Gamemaster:He is attacking you with his gun sword, so yes, I think that appears to be hostile.
Benny:Oh, he's still in his stance, so he's far away.
Gamemaster:Yeah, he only needed to step.
Johnny:Josh said to step closer.
Gamemaster:Yes, so you step and then you make a reach attack.
Gamemaster:That hits.
Argyle:Can you remove his benediction if he has it?
Gamemaster:Excellent.
Gamemaster:All damage.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:That's 14 points of damage to Bami.
Gamemaster:And then, Anzu, it's your turn.
Gamemaster:Somehow, for whatever reason, the necklace broke.
Gamemaster:You guys are still all in this dream, and Egan seems to be evil again.
Benny:I guess we have to kill Egan to get out of here.
Johnny:No, come on.
Anzu:Is there
Argyle:Hey, Egan,
Anzu:something
Anzu:can I make a check to think about
Anzu:what I'm trying to do
Anzu:here?
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:Yeah, you absolutely can.
Gamemaster:We'll make this a recall knowledge.
Gamemaster:It's an occultism check here.
Gamemaster:Or perception.
Gamemaster:Both would fit.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Argyle:do you want to go step by
Benny:.
Argyle:some place where I unraveled
Argyle:reality for real quick
Gamemaster:With a 32, you can see that there is a very, very faint silhouette of some kind of black, smoky figure
Argyle:whoa
Johnny:There's a jargon over there.
Anzu:Hmm.
Gamemaster:with their arms wrapped around Egan, like hugging him from behind.
Anzu:Hmm.
Gamemaster:It's kind of cloaking him in this energy.
Gamemaster:It's much fainter than the ghost itself was, but it seems that in some way the ghost is kind of rebuilding around Egan,
Gamemaster:trying to hang on to whatever last threat it has.
Gamemaster:it's kind of
Argyle:Can you get rid of Egan's reaction, maybe with the slow?
Anzu:Okay.
Anzu:Is it targetable as a distinct entity?
Gamemaster:wrapped all around
Gamemaster:Egan
Gamemaster:so you think that
Gamemaster:if you tried to attack
Gamemaster:Egan you'd hit it
Gamemaster:first
Anzu:Oh.
Argyle:
Anzu:Josh thinks I would hit it before Egan.
Anzu:Or Josh says I think.
Gamemaster:No.
Benny:Josh says, I think that Anzu that...
Anzu:um okay so what the reason i was asking was because i was going to try and
Benny:Call the ricker.
Anzu:use a spell to push it off of him but now i'm feeling like i should just attack it and dissipate
Gamemaster:No.
Anzu:it um great i'm going to cast uh
Gamemaster:You would not be able to push it off of him
Gamemaster:in this case.
Anzu:I used one action
Gamemaster:Okay Okay yeah and Egan Egan roll that fort save
Anzu:to recall knowledge
Anzu:so
Anzu:I can sure strike
Anzu:for oh no is this a
Anzu:attack roll or a save
Anzu:please hold
Anzu:this is a save okay
Anzu:we're going to cast an amped frostbite
Anzu:I guess at Egan I guess at Egan
Gamemaster:That is a success.
Anzu:Very well.
Gamemaster:Egan takes half of this damage.
Gamemaster:36, okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:I think Johnny is contractually obligated to do it.
Anzu:I have one action
Gamemaster:Anything else?
Anzu:I guess
Gamemaster:Yeah, run up to him and then run away.
Anzu:I don't have
Anzu:oh
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:I meant so that Argyle could go up and touch him
Benny:Over here!
Johnny:Hey, hey, hit me, hey.
Anzu:I see Benny's at very low hit points
Anzu:that's the problem
Benny:Oh, no.
Anzu:oh so there's no problem so I'm just going to side burst
Benny:Benny is going to step directly into his...
Benny:What?
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Ian, make that, we'll save.
Argyle:make him feel better
Benny:Yeah, Benny's not going to provoke attacks of opportunity.
Argyle:Argyle needs to go make
Anzu:do the will save
Argyle:him feel better
Gamemaster:He fails.
Johnny:Right.
Anzu:Noah
Anzu:for Egan
Anzu:sorry
Anzu:I don't know which of his saves is higher but
Anzu:we're going to go with the will
Anzu:epic
Gamemaster:A little damage.
Anzu:that's not bad
Gamemaster:14 points of mental damage.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:it doesn seem to doesn seem to do much to the the thing wrapped around But it does some He definitely injured it some Okay so that means it Johnny turn
Anzu:It all counts That was three Sure
Johnny:you Target my own character
Johnny:Jeez.
Johnny:Double cast.
Johnny:Roaring applause on Egan.
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Ooh, I like when you can roll.
Benny:All right.
Johnny:So now I, Egan, have to make the...
Johnny:Oh, jeez.
Gamemaster:Yep.
Johnny:You guys can all go home.
Gamemaster:Make a will save for Egan.
Johnny:I'll just play this session by myself.
Gamemaster:Oh, Egan critically fails.
Johnny:Oh, amazing!
Johnny:So he is...
Gamemaster:Can't use reactions and is slowed and is fascinated.
Johnny:And at the top of his turn,
Johnny:he triggers manipulate actions.
Gamemaster:True.
Gamemaster:Make a diplomacy check on Egan.
Argyle:That break fascinate.
Benny:Fantastic.
Johnny:And then I'll just demore, I'll bone mow my own character.
Anzu:that is so funny that it forces you to take a tax of opportunity that is diabolical
Johnny:That's my turn.
Johnny:This spell is...
Johnny:Oh, sorry, Benny.
Gamemaster:Um...
Gamemaster:This ends if a creature uses hostile actions against you.
Argyle:I mean, whose team are you on?
Gamemaster:I'm going to rule that Bonomo doesn't count as hostile in this instance.
Gamemaster:Like, normally it would, but I think it's fine for it not to.
Gamemaster:Okay, so that does say that you targeted Benny with that.
Gamemaster:But his Will DC is lower.
Johnny:Sorry, Benny.
Gamemaster:Either way, this is a failure.
Johnny:On my own team.
Johnny:Yep Yep
Gamemaster:This is a failure, so nothing happens.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn Benny it your turn Benny you heal
Benny:The unknown Okay Benny will step
Anzu:you I would think it got to be
Gamemaster:Uh-huh.
Benny:Now, how much is too much damage?
Benny:Like, I guess after the first...
Gamemaster:He's got...
Gamemaster:He's got some amount of
Gamemaster:thing wrapped around him
Gamemaster:that takes some of the damage, and then any of the overflow
Gamemaster:goes right to Egan.
Gamemaster:Oh, Benny, as part of his backstory, just gets to do 150 damage.
Benny:that's my concern
Johnny:Wow.
Anzu:at least 40.
Johnny:Oh, my God.
Anzu:At least.
Benny:because I'm planning on doing like 150
Benny:no I'm joking
Anzu:In one hit?
Benny:yeah
Gamemaster:He's not been doing it just to make the fights feel more balanced.
Benny:I respect
Benny:into the 150 damage per turn
Benny:it's a flourish so it's not
Benny:it's balanced
Gamemaster:Yeah, yeah.
Benny:it would hit
Anzu:I take out the end
Anzu:and shoot Benny.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:What are you...
Argyle:Oh, no.
Johnny:Bye.
Anzu:Nice.
Benny:where the fuck is
Benny:what is even it called
Benny:I've used this there we are double slice
Benny:uses it 800 times
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:and I can't find it in my character sheet
Benny:nice
Gamemaster:The first one misses, because you rolled a three.
Benny:cool
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:fashionable
Argyle:Guys, don't double click on the health bar up top.
Argyle:Oh, thank you, Josh.
Benny:I won't.
Anzu:What have you done?
Gamemaster:If you double click it, I don't know where it goes, but it goes away.
Argyle:You kind Lord.
Benny:Let's get some.
Benny:Is the thing that I'm hitting bloodied?
Gamemaster:I... no.
Benny:Okay.
Gamemaster:Because the thing you're hitting is Egan, technically.
Benny:Oh.
Gamemaster:Sixteen points of damage.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:You knock some of the Shroud away, but it stays on him.
Benny:Okay, okay.
Gamemaster:Is that the end of your turn?
Gamemaster:You have one more action left, I think.
Benny:No, I stepped.
Benny:Then double slice.
Benny:Oh, I'm hasted.
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:You're hasted.
Gamemaster:You're speedy.
Benny:Attack.
Benny:Attack with the map.
Benny:Do I attack with the map?
Gamemaster:He's attacking a map.
Benny:do I try to not have him hit me as hard?
Gamemaster:You're either striking or striding, so...
Argyle:is
Benny:I think we do that. I think that's a lot smarter
Benny:than map attacking.
Benny:Oh! I'm striking.
Benny:The strike ringing. The cash
Gamemaster:Correct.
Benny:singing.
Benny:The trash clinging.
Benny:Oh, he doesn't have reactions.
Gamemaster:Correct.
Benny:But if I strike...
Argyle:just hit him.
Benny:But I have to be within stepping distance.
Benny:how long does
Benny:alright alright alright alright
Argyle:We all know we're going to hit him.
Argyle:we all know it's gonna be a
Benny:but I get a mythic point
Gamemaster:Critical miss.
Argyle:alright
Gamemaster:You do get a mythic point.
Gamemaster:And it's Argyle's turn.
Argyle:I'm gonna use one action to summon mythic power
Argyle:I'm gonna walk over here
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:and then I'm going to try
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:the thing again
Argyle:this one shall be
Gamemaster:He's trying the thing again.
Argyle:Lair of Mind
Gamemaster:A 32, I think, is just a success here.
Argyle:so I'm going to counteract
Argyle:the controlled
Argyle:32
Gamemaster:I think you just dispel it.
Gamemaster:How do you want to do this?
Argyle:yes Argyle He been getting more powerful so I feel like some of his angelic traits are showing a little bit more
Gamemaster:Thank you Absolutely
Argyle:But as he looks
Argyle:at Egan,
Argyle:without saying a word,
Argyle:his hand just starts to glow,
Argyle:and then he just reaches
Argyle:into where Egan's soul should be,
Argyle:like right through his chest, and then just
Argyle:pulls out the darkness and then burns
Argyle:in his hands. And then his eyes
Argyle:go back to normal a little bit.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:excellent uh and with that egan is returned to his own consciousness uh the controlling force
Gamemaster:dispelled uh and you feel that uh at this point the thing that is keeping this particular memory
Gamemaster:going uh is starting to fade and you are all bumped out back into reality um
Gamemaster:do you find yourselves in the War room
Gamemaster:the five of you
Gamemaster:having effectively
Gamemaster:no real time passed
Gamemaster:since you entered the memory
Argyle:I don't think it really matters
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:but Egan is now
Gamemaster:less controlled than he was
Argyle:because I assume we're just going to rest after this
Argyle:but did we
Argyle:expend like actual spell slots
Gamemaster:yes you did
Argyle:in there
Argyle:okay
Gamemaster:and you're right for this particular instance
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:that that's unlikely to matter
Gamemaster:this is not the only time that you guys plan on going into
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:somebody's mindscape like that
Gamemaster:so, who knows
Benny:Yeah.
Argyle:all right
Johnny:Did that work?
Anzu:Egan, how do you feel?
Argyle:you know i think if you got controlled a third time we probably would have
Argyle:so
Argyle:how does he feel
Anzu:Did that work?
Anzu:Is...
Gamemaster:Egan.
Gamemaster:I don't know what Egan expected going into this.
Gamemaster:In that the idea of finding somebody to help him was probably such that you could find someone to finally get this song out of your head and get just like two minutes of quiet for the first time in years And unfortunately that is not what happened
Gamemaster:The damned Herald song has been removed from your brain, or at the very least, you can't hear it.
Gamemaster:And that is because somebody has gone in and put a completely different harmony into your head
Gamemaster:instead, as you have been
Gamemaster:effectively, forcefully
Gamemaster:converted into a listener of the
Johnny:Yeah, it's still loud in my head,
Gamemaster:Voidsong, as they
Gamemaster:have cleared out the old
Gamemaster:melody and given you a new one.
Gamemaster:It is an improvement,
Gamemaster:certainly. You do not feel compelled
Gamemaster:to
Gamemaster:do whatever
Gamemaster:the Herald and its servants want
Gamemaster:you to do, but you do not
Gamemaster:get the quiet that you may have been seeking.
Gamemaster:Oh, actually.
Johnny:but it's just a different song now, I guess.
Argyle:Do we see a rain mint?
Benny:Groovier.
Anzu:Oh, yes.
Johnny:you're listening to the vote
Anzu:You're listening to the vocalist.
Anzu:Totally different.
Anzu:Totally different.
Gamemaster:his raiment will continue to be black
Anzu:Much less nefarious.
Benny:When did Anzu become a radio announcer?
Anzu:Yes.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:You're listening to the vocalist.
Argyle:Do we see a rain mint change?
Argyle:Because before it was just a black thing.
Gamemaster:the power that he's currently wielding
Argyle:speak for yourself that is not good i don't like it
Benny:well I feel like
Anzu:That is allowed, I think.
Johnny:Thank you you Yeah I mean I feel better I guess
Gamemaster:has been granted by the Herald
Gamemaster:despite the fact that he's no longer being controlled
Gamemaster:by the Herald anymore, the power he has
Gamemaster:is still there.
Benny:cautiously optimistic
Benny:but also based on what happened in there
Benny:I'm not sure we need to be too worried
Benny:3v1 is
Benny:insurmountable odds and we know what they thinking about that
Argyle:He wouldn get that pun but I do agree that was a hysterical pun
Anzu:So So Oh you know we
Argyle:Good job.
Benny:Nice.
Benny:I'm ready to get down.
Johnny:So thank you, I guess.
Johnny:Am I part of the gang now?
Johnny:Are there t-shirts?
Johnny:Do you have jerseys?
Anzu:Oh.
Argyle:I don't think one that fits them.
Benny:I didn't
Johnny:Johnny goes, I got a poncho, runs into his room, pulls out an extra denim poncho.
Anzu:Do we have any extra ponchos, guys?
Anzu:I don't know.
Benny:Okay so
Argyle:Does it fit him?
Benny:We're allowed to make copy
Benny:Because like I have friends and family that would be interested
Benny:And I've told them that it's just for us
Benny:They're pushing
Anzu:Oh, Egan, you could feel this, and I resonate.
Johnny:Feel this.
Benny:What are you feeling
Johnny:Monzu pecks me today.
Gamemaster:and Egan you feel this weird sensation that your entire body has been turned
Johnny:Wow.
Anzu:You felt that because you're one of us.
Gamemaster:into a tuning fork for a second and you know that Anzu is the one who did it.
Anzu:Yeah.
Johnny:Alright, well, I guess I'm one of you.
Johnny:So what's your guys' whole thing?
Johnny:What are we doing here?
Argyle:actually do you have a title
Johnny:I was captain of Arithmites for about 10 years.
Argyle:I put on some class
Argyle:who granted you the title of captain
Argyle:is it a governing body
Argyle:or did you
Johnny:It was myself when I stole a boat.
Argyle:okay so that is not
Argyle:I'm just going to call you
Argyle:Mr. Egan
Johnny:You ever been to Lurandris?
Argyle:what'd you say
Johnny:I feel like that would not be your sort of party.
Argyle:no I don't like to
Johnny:You ever been to Lurandris?
Argyle:usually work
Argyle:with pirates anyway you
Argyle:agreed, Mr. Egan, that if we helped with this song,
Benny:No, no.
Johnny:yep that's the deal oh
Anzu:No. No. We're explicitly not going to do that.
Argyle:you would kill anyone we wanted.
Argyle:So, yes.
Argyle:We're going to go kill his sister.
Johnny:you know that um
Benny:In, like, the same way that it was done here.
Benny:And Benny will, like, give, like, a side, like...
Anzu:Yes, so, Egan, my sister has been...
Benny:To Argyle.
Argyle:And our guy
Argyle:was like, okay.
Anzu:Her mind has been clouded by the same song.
Benny:...
Anzu:And...
Johnny:I'm sorry. I don't mean to step on your feet.
Argyle:that's very rude to refer to his anatomy differently i've been told multiple times
Benny:They're still toes.
Anzu:their talents
Benny:Talons are the sharp part, they're still toes.
Anzu:I knew one
Johnny:Step on your towel.
Argyle:who
Johnny:Oh, we had a bird person that was an owl on my crew back on the ship.
Johnny:So, I never...
Argyle:who
Johnny:no all this to say
Benny:positive to say about bird people,
Benny:or just mentioning it to know that you're familiar?
Anzu:I knew one
Argyle:Wow.
Benny:My friend, I have an owl friend, OK?
Johnny:whatever we talked about their anatomy
Johnny:they always talked about like it was human anatomy
Anzu:uh well i do know that she started
Johnny:so I don't know if it's different with the different birds
Johnny:they were a great lookout
Johnny:anyway
Johnny:hey are you the bad guys here
Argyle:Great.
Benny:He's rewritten birds minds.
Argyle:Okay.
Benny:So if anyone's open minded, it's him.
Johnny:anyway all this to say do you know the gal zoo is
Benny:Oh.
Benny:No.
Johnny:not willingly doing this because there are folks down there willingly
Anzu:talking with these people uh and then she left home with them and that's not something she was
Anzu:supposed to do it also feels like something she wouldn't have done i mean she was working
Anzu:like with my grandmother they were you know having success uh yeah go ahead
Benny:I don want to you know shift the ground underneath us but like he like
Johnny:Yeah, I can confirm.
Benny:pretty good in combat
Benny:so I feel like
Benny:I don't know is the bar for
Benny:freeing someone's mind
Benny:can Galzu fight
Benny:should we be like
Anzu:I mean, she's a talented psychic.
Benny:unlocking
Benny:alright
Benny:Oh, no.
Johnny:Rufia's pretty strong psychic.
Gamemaster:I would say that you have two reference points here.
Gamemaster:Anzu knows from before he ran away from home
Gamemaster:that at the time, Galzu was a stronger psychic than he was.
Gamemaster:And then more recently,
Gamemaster:Egan has not seen Galzu fight necessarily,
Gamemaster:but he has seen Galzu use psychic abilities.
Gamemaster:He would estimate Galzu as perhaps being stronger than he is.
Benny:nice. Okay, so totally worth it to go and
Benny:free her mind then.
Argyle:But what if Gauzu...
Anzu:it doesn't matter how powerful she is, she's my sister.
Argyle:What if Gauzu's...
Benny:I know, but
Benny:I mean...
Argyle:What if your sister's evil?
Argyle:What if she's doing this of her own volition?
Anzu:Well, if she's doing it of her own volition,
Anzu:then we have a heart-to-heart and we make her see reason.
Benny:I think that's a big euphemism
Benny:for I rewrite her mind like I did
Benny:Othello.
Anzu:No, I can't do that to a person.
Benny:We just went into his and did it.
Anzu:The best I could...
Anzu:No, but we didn't rewrite his mind.
Anzu:we replaced an influence in his mind
Benny:that sounds like rewriting but with extra steps
Argyle:...
Anzu:with a different influence that's much better.
Gamemaster:Yes, Jorge.
Argyle:So our plan is to go surgically into below the strider.
Argyle:Find Galzu's group.
Argyle:Assume all of Galzu's group is unsavable and murder them.
Argyle:But take Galzu as a hostage here so that Anzu can then rewrite her mind.
Anzu:I am not against saving other people my problem is I was hoping to figure out this process in a little bit of a different way and I haven yet
Benny:Thank you Do you know if we can tell
Argyle:Is that our plan?
Johnny:Also, I'm putting out there, there are folks down there who were taken by force.
Anzu:I was...
Anzu:...
Johnny:Not all of them are bad, but if you're looking to recruit other people,
Johnny:I'm sure there are other folks down there who might be helpful.
Benny:if they're bad or corrupted?
Benny:like the delineation?
Gamemaster:I think the answer is no, because the end state in both scenarios is listening to the
Johnny:Josh, is there a way to tell?
Benny:Are they bad or are they corrupt?
Benny:Kill them all.
Gamemaster:Herald song and doing what the Herald wants.
Gamemaster:I will say, I guess a small part of that is that Egan originally had other members of
Gamemaster:his crew on the
Gamemaster:strider with him
Gamemaster:and over the past few weeks
Gamemaster:something has happened to them
Gamemaster:and they have gone from
Gamemaster:begrudgingly
Gamemaster:complicit to enthusiastic
Gamemaster:at some point
Gamemaster:unfortunately like beyond that
Gamemaster:I don't think there's a great way for you to tell
Gamemaster:other than like having known
Gamemaster:them beforehand and that's really your only reference
Gamemaster:point but
Gamemaster:the end state at this point either way
Gamemaster:is it's enthusiastically
Gamemaster:following the Herald
Argyle:So they probably need to die.
Anzu:What I was...
Argyle:They probably promised some like
Argyle:party at the end of this.
Anzu:Benny, before you speak, I just want to say
Anzu:what I was really hoping to create
Anzu:and may still be able to do
Anzu:is make something that kind of dampens
Anzu:the Herald song in an area
Anzu:and then maybe you could try to wrestle
Anzu:people's true intentions out.
Anzu:We've done more of a permanent
Anzu:but single target solution,
Anzu:which is also good.
Benny:You know what happens if we do that brain thing but they actually truly evil and not just corrupted like Egan
Johnny:Thank you I mean from my understanding of what just happened
Anzu:and useful especially for my sister Okay yeah go ahead Sorry
Benny:Can you put some
Benny:synapses towards that?
Anzu:Well, I...
Johnny:you just ripped out one song and put it in the other.
Johnny:So if they're evil, they'll still be evil,
Johnny:but they'll just be hearing a different song.
Johnny:I don't know what that implies.
Anzu:At the very least,
Benny:Right, but...
Anzu:they'll lose some connection to the Herald.
Gamemaster:I would say, like, we're going off of some idea of what Egan has here. The singers, especially the new group that had joined up right before this voyage started, at least on their face, seemed to be very enthusiastically in support of the Herald as well.
Gamemaster:I think without a role
Gamemaster:Egan would
Gamemaster:assume the default reaction
Gamemaster:for a fanatic of the Herald
Gamemaster:who can also hear the Herald song
Gamemaster:if they lose access to the song
Gamemaster:they would treat that as somebody
Argyle:So when you go to school in the Scale to give you some like intermediary like primitive
Johnny:There.
Gamemaster:forcefully separating them from their god
Gamemaster:and that would
Gamemaster:be a particularly negative reaction
Gamemaster:I think would be the answer there
Johnny:I'll share that.
Argyle:knowledge of the different groups.
Argyle:I think we might want to
Argyle:draw from the
Argyle:Aladins
Benny:Is there anyone else that's powerful
Johnny:Hey.
Argyle:and these are heretics.
Argyle:We should probably just burn them all.
Argyle:With holy light, of course.
Johnny:Hey.
Johnny:I mean, I'm not against it.
Johnny:Okay.
Argyle:We can try to save your sister.
Argyle:But
Gamemaster:Roll, I guess, either Lore or Society for you, Egan,
Benny:that would be flippable?
Johnny:Uh.
Gamemaster:whichever is higher.
Johnny:Uh.
Johnny:Can I use hunting lore?
Gamemaster:Yeah, I'm using Lore as, like, a
Gamemaster:stand in for your history, you know?
Johnny:I got a 13.
Gamemaster:Because we don't actually have history checks in the setting.
Gamemaster:A 13.
Gamemaster:Unfortunately, Egan was a bit preoccupied being brainwashed
Gamemaster:to, like, properly size up the people that are here.
Gamemaster:I think what you get off of that roll is that there are...
Gamemaster:There's an indeterminate group of people...
Gamemaster:Egan knows that he joined up with the Strider after a pretty long journey out here a few years ago.
Gamemaster:And he was part of the First Wave, which was some group of people that were about at his power level when he joined up.
Gamemaster:And then, as of a few months ago, a second group of more fervent, stronger believers in the Herald, including Galzu,
Gamemaster:she was part of that group, joined up to the Herald and were much stronger than
Argyle:The list is probably better.
Benny:Yeah.
Gamemaster:the first group. They had received more gifts from the Herald and were
Gamemaster:stronger in that way. Unfortunately he doesn't have a good idea of
Gamemaster:numbers because of how insular they are, nor does he have a great idea of like
Gamemaster:relative scaling. He knows that there were there's a group that's less strong,
Gamemaster:a group that's more strong. That's it.
Argyle:How much energy do we have in the heart?
Gamemaster:What?
Benny:Less devoted.
Argyle:maybe
Benny:i have 104 written down and i am sure it's correct
Anzu:I have 104 written down, but I'm not sure if it's correct.
Gamemaster:I have 14 written down.
Gamemaster:Let's go with that.
Benny:there's a you're missing a zero
Argyle:we should spend a little
Gamemaster:zero one four
Argyle:buy a cheap upgrade
Benny:missing another zero you Oh I see
Argyle:like a
Argyle:scouting perch and then we build a dungeon uh
Gamemaster:What?
Johnny:just toss them in and get them out one at a time
Benny:Isn't that spelled like the fish, though?
Benny:Perch has Anaïs.
Gamemaster:Did I use the wrong perch?
Argyle:You're such an asshole.
Benny:No.
Anzu:mute this man
Gamemaster:Is there a perch with an I?
Gamemaster:Okay, you got me confused.
Gamemaster:It's like, oh no, did I spell something wrong?
Gamemaster:Sorry, did you say something?
Benny:So Scottingbridge is...
Benny:Is it...
Benny:What?
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:oh you muted me
Benny:I said I think scouting birch is the cheapest we can get
Gamemaster:Mediterranean Shrine.
Benny:uh
Benny:wait
Benny:hold on meditation shrine
Benny:the first time a character spends a focus point during the day
Benny:oh they immediately regain it as a free action
Benny:oh
Benny:Benny hates this one
Benny:because he doesn't have
Argyle:We could.
Johnny:I love a big gun.
Anzu:It's the right thing to do.
Benny:any focus points to regain.
Gamemaster:Get some focus points.
Gamemaster:Sounds like a betting problem.
Benny:We can buy an automated turret.
Argyle:I'm down with that.
Johnny:I love a big gun.
Johnny:you know
Gamemaster:Thank you Ooh
Benny:Automated turret
Benny:and then get a room where we can keep these people
Benny:hostage while we
Benny:jump into their brain and fight
Benny:their memories.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:we gone as soon as we set the dungeon up do you know who going to speak up and say something Anouk is going to be like wait a minute wait a minute You guys said that you didn lock me up in a dungeon
Argyle:Okay you
Johnny:Wait, team.
Anzu:Thank you And we going to use the exact same shackles that he was in too
Benny:You guys were sure that that wasn't you.
Benny:That you weren't working against us.
Benny:We are going to use this because we have the shackles.
Johnny:Johnny is going to stay.
Johnny:This is Johnny now.
Johnny:Maybe we should close the door.
Benny:Okay.
Johnny:Maybe we should talk about Anouk and Anaïs, because we are sort of...
Argyle:yeah kind of
Benny:Do what?
Anzu:they are going to probably be compelled by their
Johnny:Are we their enemy now?
Argyle:do you remember
Anzu:friend
Benny:Do we want to talk to him?
Argyle:do you remember when I asked
Argyle:will they be loyal to the group
Argyle:and they were like
Argyle:well I can't guarantee that
Argyle:what if our
Argyle:patriot tells us not to
Argyle:um
Gamemaster:That's like just not existed the setting.
Argyle:that being said we are the heroes of the story i don't know if they're allowed to also
Benny:And it's, I mean,
Argyle:what else are we gonna do kick them out i don't want them to hang out with another faction
Argyle:that's just worse that's just strictly worse
Argyle:no but it's translated from common
Benny:if they want to have Lady Renge interfere,
Benny:I mean, we got the blicky, so.
Johnny:Egan's just standing here going
Benny:It doesn't help.
Gamemaster:I would never translate that into English.
Benny:yes
Benny:we got the god toaster bro how many if we got the deuce deuce for the gods
Gamemaster:Oh.
Gamemaster:Oh.
Benny:not important um
Gamemaster:Atrocious.
Argyle:Don't worry about it.
Johnny:what
Johnny:what
Benny:do we want to talk to them
Benny:I mean they were upset they were one of the first people to learn They the only people that know on this rider
Gamemaster:they one of the only people to have learned this information
Argyle:I don't know if she
Benny:I think if Lady Ranga is not going to directly help them out,
Benny:she might just be like, listen, they got you into this mess.
Benny:They might be able to get you out.
Benny:Don't screw it.
Benny:We're out at sea.
Argyle:I don't know if she can
Argyle:like I think we might have some blessing
Gamemaster:the minotaurs
Benny:the many years
Johnny:I mean, I'm pretty sure this is,
Anzu:That's terrible.
Argyle:from the hero
Argyle:from the Minotaurs
Argyle:yeah
Benny:yeah
Benny:I mean
Argyle:from the Minotaurs
Anzu:That's so bad.
Argyle:sorry for
Argyle:no offense
Benny:we're kind of out at sea
Argyle:well she did send us out to sea
Benny:and the ones who have to fix this
Benny:so like if
Benny:we don't know if it was her exactly
Argyle:so I really don't think Renge cares if those two
Argyle:twins die that much
Benny:shall we ask
Benny:and I can deny
Johnny:I think this is like the extent of what
Benny:Gang gang.
Argyle:Okay.
Anzu:Yeah, and we're protected by the vocalist, which, by the way, you're welcome for that, Egan.
Johnny:the narrative can do at this point.
Johnny:They can't just, apparently, it seems like they can't just smite us right off.
Johnny:But they can put us in a situation where everything conspires to kill us.
Johnny:Maybe we should just talk to them.
Benny:Welcome to Iconoclasm.
Johnny:Great.
Johnny:I feel as though I walked into the middle of something
Johnny:that's do you guys know what happened to the strider
Benny:No idea.
Argyle:Yeah.
Johnny:all right
Anzu:it got pushed really far away.
Benny:No idea.
Johnny:okay uh
Benny:Accurate, truthful.
Anzu:And now we've got to try to figure out how to get it moving again.
Anzu:Which is our other current objective, by the way,
Anzu:is to get into that tower outside.
Anzu:And we have to do that by going down and then up.
Argyle:So are we going for?
Benny:Almost.
Benny:over.
Anzu:And the Harlequins are there.
Argyle:Are we going for Galzu first or
Argyle:or the steering?
Argyle:let's get the thing moving
Benny:tell me you can't open the side of a tower
Anzu:I'm open to either option.
Benny:do we have nothing
Anzu:It's really strong, Tower.
Argyle:because apparently that weakens the hold
Argyle:so let's get the thing moving
Argyle:weaken the hold on the remaining people
Argyle:and then we go
Argyle:attack Galzu
Argyle:you see this is why I'm the team leader
Benny:i don't feel like benny had a bomb
Anzu:That's one of our best thoughts of the day.
Benny:Mm-hmm.
Anzu:That was very good.
Argyle:we say that so that you can attack the bird
Johnny:I thought the bird was in charge.
Anzu:We kind of share duties depending on what the situation is.
Argyle:first and then I can heal the bird
Argyle:because if I get attacked the bird can't heal me as well
Johnny:Okay, so you and the bird are in charge.
Anzu:That is false, but...
Johnny:And then the guy in the sunglasses and the kid, are you guys kind of backup?
Johnny:What's the dynamic here?
Johnny:Do you guys have team names?
Benny:I have a permission slip.
Johnny:Do you have assigned positions?
Johnny:Which one of you is the treasurer?
Argyle:Benny's also the driver.
Johnny:Is there a secretary?
Gamemaster:okay so the team makeup is there are two co-leaders and then there's the nine-year-old
Johnny:Oh, okay.
Anzu:Oh, that's Benny. Benny's the treasurer.
Anzu:Oh, he's the driver, too.
Anzu:And he's the muscle.
Johnny:All right.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:Well, I mean...
Benny:Yeah, I just drive these assholes around.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:They don't pay me anything.
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:Okay.
Gamemaster:who's the driver and the treasurer
Benny:Wait, so there's three, there's three, there's like a face that is like the PR rep that's like, hey guys, I'll have to go talk to my two co-leaders.
Gamemaster:and the muscle
Gamemaster:and then also Johnny's there.
Argyle:yeah
Johnny:Johnny is in the corner of making one of those cootie catchers.
Anzu:Johnny's the face.
Argyle:I also am the
Gamemaster:Okay.
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Argyle:uh
Argyle:laughs
Johnny:He looks up and goes, what?
Johnny:What?
Benny:How big is this org? They have two leaders? It's like, well, the remaining person of the org is the treasurer.
Argyle:laughs
Johnny:What?
Gamemaster:I don know
Benny:It like well all right I mean I guess it not very big He also does the driving and his security What the fuck They gave this kid three jobs Two of them are What do we do today
Argyle:laughs you I also the
Anzu:Thank you Listen we been kind of scrambling the past couple months because we had a different leader
Benny:What do we make Benny do today?
Anzu:His name was Amari, and he went missing.
Anzu:And so now we're kind of in charge.
Argyle:well well
Argyle:and then I died that's when he
Argyle:temporarily became the other leader
Argyle:so
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:Дякую за перегляд!
Benny:happens to a lot of people
Johnny:Oh, you died? And you came back?
Anzu:Johnny's done it a ton of times.
Argyle:I died
Argyle:yeah
Argyle:this is my second time actually
Benny:it was my first time
Argyle:yeah
Johnny:Johnny goes,
Johnny:I'm uncillable.
Argyle:well I think this might be the last time
Anzu:Well.
Argyle:actually
Anzu:All right.
Anzu:I got hit pretty hard inside of Egan's brain.
Argyle:yeah
Gamemaster:Дякую.
Johnny:Yeah, I've been saved.
Anzu:So maybe we like kind of just hang out and then maybe go to bed and then tomorrow morning we try to get into the tower.
Argyle:should Egan sleep outside
Argyle:no it's
Argyle:you trust him
Anzu:No, Iki can come inside. The vocalist has rescued him.
Argyle:yeah but what if you were evil before
Johnny:I've accepted the vocalist into my heart.
Johnny:I'm born again.
Johnny:I got into class.
Argyle:what if you were evil before this
Johnny:I mean
Argyle:killing innocence
Gamemaster:Дякую.
Benny:Actually, it's who he defines as innocent.
Johnny:what's your definition of evil
Johnny:who do you define as innocent
Argyle:who do you define
Johnny:how do I define an innocent person
Argyle:how do you define that term
Argyle:yeah yeah
Johnny:you know,
Argyle:I think it's pretty telling
Argyle:you like him why
Johnny:you know,
Johnny:morality,
Johnny:morality and
Johnny:Lorandris Egan walked out of the room
Gamemaster:Absolutely Okay Um
Benny:Thank you I think
Anzu:I like him Good night
Argyle:did you just hear what he just said
Anzu:He hasn't given me any reason not to like him.
Argyle:you have
Anzu:The guy's a pirate.
Anzu:You've never worked with pirates?
Argyle:yeah yeah but no offense i don't love that also
Anzu:Well, no, but I've read about them.
Benny:I think we
Johnny:I'm taking me a terror.
Benny:I think the word
Johnny:I don't know. I feel as though we might have lost over that.
Johnny:We haven't worked together for a few months.
Benny:word
Argyle:yes but you know what you did have your whole civilization bomb so i guess i'll give you a pass
Johnny:Well, I thought we had a connection.
Johnny:I taught you how to improv.
Benny:yeah his didn't so
Johnny:We don't know Egan's story.
Johnny:Maybe he had his whole civilization bombed, too.
Johnny:I doubt it because he's not Rayleonic.
Benny:Raelic.
Gamemaster:Roll a society check.
Anzu:I don't think that that happened.
Johnny:Raylean?
Johnny:Raylean.
Johnny:Raylean.
Gamemaster:I don't know.
Gamemaster:Whoever's talking about whether or not
Gamemaster:Lorandris got bombed out of existence.
Benny:We might have to make a stop.
Johnny:Got to stop on over and see if it got bombed out of existence.
Johnny:31.
Gamemaster:A 31.
Gamemaster:Lorandris did not get bombed out of existence.
Johnny:How long ago?
Gamemaster:Kind of.
Gamemaster:it used to be
Gamemaster:it used to be a different country
Gamemaster:Fūlwinter and then
Gamemaster:the heir of the plague empowered their champion
Gamemaster:Orthalaxis the Plague Bearer
Gamemaster:who went and ravaged
Gamemaster:the country destroying it to be
Gamemaster:a fraction of
Gamemaster:what it originally was
Gamemaster:he also
Gamemaster:destroyed the kingdom of Scythis
Gamemaster:and salted their lands and caused
Gamemaster:it to turn into a desert and killed
Argyle:So just a quick question
Gamemaster:Aurelia II, he wasn't a good
Johnny:you know Johnny just looks at it around and goes
Gamemaster:time That was also hundreds of years ago though and Egan probably did not live through that But you never know You don know how old Egan is
Benny:you Okay
Argyle:okay so
Johnny:you know, strange times
Johnny:man, at this point
Johnny:he's willing to fight for us, that's kind of all we need
Johnny:at this point
Argyle:Anzu
Argyle:what is the line
Argyle:if someone walks in and wants to work with us
Argyle:do you have one
Argyle:because killing innocents apparently isn't.
Anzu:Do I have a line for someone to come in and work with us?
Anzu:Um...
Anzu:My...
Anzu:Really, my feeling is that the whole Voidsong thing worked,
Anzu:and that gives me just a good gut feeling about him,
Anzu:because the vocalist has accepted him, and...
Anzu:Uh...
Argyle:I can name dozens of people the vocalist has accepted that uh sucks
Anzu:I like that.
Argyle:and we also kind of forced the vocalist you know
Anzu:Yeah, I'm still trying to figure that one out.
Argyle:also the vocalist is like tied up with all the devils so like you know and Grayson and mandibles
Argyle:guy
Argyle:you know
Benny:Yeah.
Johnny:You know, it's going forward.
Argyle:you know
Argyle:so
Benny:We have christened ourselves the heroes.
Argyle:okay
Argyle:yeah
Benny:It's...
Benny:I'm not sure how morally
Benny:great we can be.
Argyle:he wants that
Johnny:It's a redemption arc.
Johnny:We can just talk to him and tell him not to do that anymore.
Argyle:we literally just asked him
Argyle:he was like
Argyle:meh
Benny:Well...
Anzu:we're doing better stuff than what the ashen pact is doing so
Argyle:We did just get one of their rejects, so.
Benny:Yeah.
Johnny:Hey, what's your problem tonight?
Anzu:No, it's fair.
Argyle:Food for thought.
Argyle:This is why you shouldn't be a team leader on Zoom.
Johnny:Chill.
Johnny:Chill.
Argyle:I thought we just went through it.
Argyle:I was very clear about my feelings.
Johnny:Yeah, the Earth Collector on Zoom liked that.
Anzu:There is a lot of crazy stuff going on,
Anzu:But we're in such an unprecedented circumstance that the exact lines of your credo are problematic.
Argyle:you know but it's not
Johnny:I mean, the way I'm looking at it.
Argyle:like it's a
Argyle:shoplifts
Argyle:it's like the worst you could do
Anzu:Yeah, it's a little worse.
Anzu:Yeah, you're right.
Johnny:Yeah, it is.
Johnny:but he's on our side and we need allies for now
Argyle:Is he?
Benny:You know, I will say
Johnny:so when we're not in this shitty situation
Johnny:but then we work with him until we die and then we kill him
Benny:on our side is currently words.
Johnny:that seems like it's the two options
Benny:Well, I'm not saying we should kill him.
Benny:I'm saying as far as
Johnny:that we're discussing right now
Benny:what he's shown us working with us,
Johnny:we give him a trial run
Benny:it has just been words.
Benny:So when it comes to brass tacks,
Benny:we can see.
Benny:But for now...
Johnny:we do a small job somewhere
Anzu:Or we make him
Argyle:I find that's a great judge of character
Benny:haven't they suffered enough
Johnny:maybe we go take out the smaller cell of
Johnny:singers and we put him
Johnny:on the front line and see what he does
Johnny:see if he actually does anything
Anzu:do a bunch of Harlequins tomorrow.
Johnny:put him in the front, give him a trial run
Anzu:That could work too.
Argyle:letting someone just murder some clowns
Johnny:okay
Argyle:this is my improv
Argyle:I thought that was funny
Argyle:now you now yes
Benny:i thought it was too I writing it down I writing it down
Anzu:Oh yes good you know Argyle do you think that us being thrown off course like this has affected your journey to find your other half
Argyle:I did
Argyle:I think it very much did
Benny:Remindingly.
Argyle:I didn't think you guys would care though
Anzu:I'm sorry about that.
Argyle:because
Argyle:my whole creed
Argyle:and background and judge
Argyle:and
Argyle:father and everything is the opposite
Johnny:We care about you as a person and want you to succeed.
Anzu:Maybe you guys should play a game of chess.
Argyle:of that pirate guy so
Argyle:you know
Argyle:okay
Johnny:Egan is a big guy we just met who said he'd help us when we're in a bad situation,
Argyle:he's the antithesis
Johnny:so that's kind of why we care about him at this moment.
Argyle:of everything I believe in but okay
Argyle:that's how you would like to settle it for the group
Johnny:You guys should fight doubt in a corner.
Johnny:I don't know
Argyle:Argyle thinks about his choices with iconoclasm
Johnny:I don't know it seems like we're pushing
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:Jorge wise I get it
Gamemaster:Okay.
Argyle:but also I feel like if Argyle is a character
Argyle:this is like the exact opposite of everything
Argyle:of the character
Johnny:Egan's not even a dude
Argyle:it's the exact opposite of the Scale
Gamemaster:Yep.
Argyle:it literally is
Argyle:Yeah.
Johnny:Egan's a bad guy
Gamemaster:Okay.
Benny:he will sleep in one of the outermost rooms then
Benny:and Benny will sleep near the heart
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Yeah.
Argyle:Anzu will, uh, no, uh,
Argyle:Argyle will sleep at the Scale tonight.
Johnny:Egan makes a couch
Gamemaster:Absolutely.
Gamemaster:You all settle in in your various residences for a rest after a harrowing experience.
Argyle:Thank you That was a dope map Josh
Gamemaster:and tentatively adding a new member to the group And I think we will pick it up next week
Benny:you I like that one
Johnny:That's cool.
Anzu:you Very well
Gamemaster:Yeah.
Gamemaster:It was a neat map.
Gamemaster:I have like a handful of maps that I need to find an excuse to use
Gamemaster:just because I think they look cool.
Gamemaster:And it's always fun when we get to do go into somebody's mind
Gamemaster:because then I get to just make up what it is.
Gamemaster:He's a pirate.
Gamemaster:He's on a pirate outpost. That's fine. That's great.
Argyle:That makes sense.
Benny:yeah
Anzu:You haven't seen my house?
Argyle:That makes sense.
Gamemaster:You know, there will be something equally strange if you end up going into Gulzu's head.
Argyle:How long have you been sitting on that map?
Gamemaster:You know, that's just how it works.
Argyle:Oh.
Argyle:It's a birdcage.
Argyle:Birdcage.
Benny:there's
Gamemaster:There's, I have, I have a map of the interior of a bag of holding,
Benny:there's just so much
Benny:shit on the ground
Argyle:Yeah.
Benny:yeah
Gamemaster:and I'm not sure when to use it, but I want to, just because that would be fun.
Gamemaster:but
Anzu:Didn't we do something like that?
Gamemaster:I have two maps of the
Argyle:We have an exploded bag of holding.
Johnny:How do we get?
Anzu:We were stealing from somebody's bag of holding.
Gamemaster:interior of a bag of holding
Gamemaster:we've done one of them
Gamemaster:there was
Gamemaster:I forget the
Gamemaster:I forget why you were in there
Gamemaster:but you were already in something like that
Gamemaster:you were yeah
Argyle:Oh, yeah.
Gamemaster:you were doing a crime
Gamemaster:but no I also
Gamemaster:I have a few fun ones
Gamemaster:that I'll find reasons to use
Gamemaster:and then some that I just don't think will ever fit
Gamemaster:this particular campaign
Argyle:Hmm?
Benny:Yeah.
Johnny:I think it's
Anzu:Sounds pretty good to me.
Gamemaster:but that's fine
Gamemaster:I'll save them for something else
Gamemaster:but anyway yeah
Gamemaster:I don't know what I would use
Gamemaster:I have the flesh mines
Gamemaster:we'll have to find an excuse to go to some flesh mines
Gamemaster:anyway next Monday work
Gamemaster:Okay, uh, oh actually shoot when is Rosh Hashanah?
Johnny:Friday and I think it Saturday and Sunday Josh happy early New Year
Argyle:Good Sounds good
Anzu:you Snaps
Gamemaster:Friday to Sunday I fine Yes next Monday It next Monday Did I say Monday
Gamemaster:Well,
Gamemaster:yeah, happy early New Year.
Gamemaster:Happy Jewish New Year
Gamemaster:to the rest of you as well.
Gamemaster:If you respond in any way to what I just said,
Gamemaster:you are legally Jewish. I'm just letting you know.
Gamemaster:So be careful.
Argyle:Did you guys ever see the episode of Seinfeld
Argyle:where Brian Cranston converts to being Jewish
Gamemaster:No?
Benny:No.
Johnny:I have seen it.
Anzu:Yeah.
Argyle:and then immediately starts making Jewish jokes.
Gamemaster:Crazy.
Benny:But.
Gamemaster:Crazy.
Argyle:He just starts making jokes like, you know, we're Jewish.
Argyle:Jerry's like, I think he converted for the jokes.
Benny:That's such a Seinfeld.
Benny:It's such a Seinfeld situation.
Benny:Well, I mean, you can't say anything because, well, I know I'm not going to say
Argyle:well i i accidentally ran into something very similar because my oldest sibling transitioned
Benny:anything, Jorge.
Argyle:uh from man to female and then was late on sunday was just like oh sorry i give man times but now
Argyle:there's two women in the house and i was like i don't know if you're allowed to say that but
Argyle:i don't i can't call you on that but i just thought of the seinfeld thing and i was like
Argyle:That's crazy.
Benny:Josh, I will be saying that when I get stopped by the Orthodox Jews on Fifth Ave.
Gamemaster:whenever whenever i get stopped uh by the jews um i just say i'm not as jewish as you and i keep
Benny:They go, are you Jewish? I go, legally, yeah.
Benny:And I'll see what they say.
Benny:that's so funny wait i could say that too technically
Gamemaster:walking uh it it doesn't always work but sometimes it does sometimes they're like no i'm just not
Gamemaster:going to bother.
Gamemaster:It's a good time.
Gamemaster:It's true.
Gamemaster:You are technically not as Jewish
Gamemaster:as they are. No, because I'm trying to get away from them and I don't want to take the
Argyle:Have you ever said I'm Jew-ish?
Benny:and then what the mitzvah tank the fucking rv that they park in front of uh the louis
Johnny:I don't know how that happened.
Gamemaster:time to pause and be like, hey, I'm Jew-ish, because then they're going to grab me and
Gamemaster:put the tefillin and stuff on me
Gamemaster:and I don't want that.
Benny:vuitton skyscraper and it just shakes and it's super loud i walk by that almost every any day
Benny:it's there. I walk by it and I just hear it
Johnny:What?
Johnny:What's going on?
Benny:and see it shaking.
Argyle:Welcome to New York I go to New York Welcome to New York Welcome to New York
Johnny:Oh, this is a real thing.
Gamemaster:I don't know what the shaking would be.
Gamemaster:I couldn't tell you.
Benny:Well, isn't it
Gamemaster:Like,
Benny:the dancing?
Gamemaster:are they dancing?
Gamemaster:When are you walking by it?
Gamemaster:Because you don't just dance in the...
Benny:They park it in
Benny:They park it on the
Johnny:The mitzvah.
Gamemaster:You don't just, like...
Benny:weekdays? I don't know.
Gamemaster:Because, I mean...
Johnny:This is a real thing.
Johnny:This is crazy.
Johnny:what what is what is the city you guys live in
Benny:Yeah I walked by this a bunch They attempted to recruit me several times
Benny:Are they trying to convert you, though?
Anzu:yeah I wonder what he was trying to say
Argyle:I don't know.
Benny:don't they say that and you go oh no
Johnny:Oh no, Josh is frozen.
Benny:but you could be
Benny:Josh is frozen for me too
Argyle:Josh is frozen for me, or he's in action.
Benny:he does look mid-sentence which is very
Argyle:Okay.
Argyle:Yeah.
Johnny:He's missing all this good content.
Anzu:something about dancing
Johnny:That was good.
Anzu:midday
Anzu:yeah it's as good a time as any
Benny:disappointing because he probably was saying something
Benny:very funny and
Benny:exaggerated and emotive
Benny:he's like
Argyle:I will go.
Argyle:Adios.
Benny:He'll be confused.
Johnny:See you guys.
Benny:Adios.
