The party arrives at Ragged Roost, now overshadowed by a colossal arachnid Strider city, and is processed aboard by harlequin servants. Led to their assigned plot of land by a jester-servant named Chuck, they activate their keystone and are pulled into a void-space where they must battle waves of ghostly 'thoughts' — star-aligned and void-aligned — plus two powerful Fractured Ideals, to charge the keystone with essence. After a grueling 11-round combat, they feed the collected energy (11 star, 7 void) into the keystone, choose 'knowledge and justice' as their ideal, and name the newborn heart 'Eerie.' Eerie constructs their fane — a house with bedroom, kitchen, and workshop — and the party begins settling into their new home aboard the Strider.

  1. The party drives into Ragged Roost, now dominated by a massive spider/centipede-like Strider — ~3/4 mile wide, 300 feet tall on eight legs per side, with a strange astrolabe/orrery-like gyroscope apparatus mounted atop the buildings. The town population sign has been updated from 0 to 75,000.
  2. A harlequin walking fiendish 'orts' (lowest-tier devil fiends used as semi-sentient cattle/workers) flags them down and directs them to the parking lot. They learn orts are devils, not demons.
  3. The party's car is loaded into a shipping container and hoisted up into the Strider's interior parking garage. Only one other vehicle group — the Hildebrandt Corporation (Berth 6) with two Humvees — has arrived so far.
  4. Their assigned servant 'Chuck' (responds to Butler/Thing/Chuck) guides them to the surface, a grassy plain atop the Strider. He explains the layout: amenities include a banquet hall, store, fortune teller, gym, spell repository, and restricted engine room. The Master will be available before departure in six days.
  5. The party places their keystone in a magic circle on their plot of land. A bubble of light erupts, pulling them into a void-space with floating sand-bowl platforms and the keystone glowing orange at the center. Tethers of colored light connect each party member to the keystone.
  6. Tugging on the tethers switches the keystone between orange (star) and purple (void). Ghostly 'thoughts' begin emerging from the platforms — star-aligned and void-aligned wisps — converging on the party. A large gate spawns two 'Fractured Ideals,' powerful spellcasting thought-entities shrouded in magical darkness.
  7. A long, intense combat unfolds across 11+ rounds. The party kills 20 minor thoughts and 2 Fractured Ideals. Key moments: Benny gets slowed by Crushing Despair and fails against Phantasmal Killer (frightened 2, sobbing uncontrollably); Johnny casts Silence on Benny to neuter the nearby Fractured Ideal's spellcasting; Anzu lands a critical Slow (slowed 2 for a full minute) on one Fractured Ideal; Argyle drops a Divine Wrath hitting most enemies at once. Benny's reactive strikes repeatedly punish approaching thoughts.
  8. Final essence tally: 11 star, 7 void. The keystone overflows and asks the party to choose an ideal. After extended deliberation they settle on 'knowledge and justice' (with a tinge of partiality/selfishness), and name the heart 'Eerie' — short for 'Ear That Hears the Truth.'
  9. Eerie constructs its fane: a house with three wings — bedroom (barracks), kitchen (grants 5 temp HP if you eat breakfast, due to star-focus), and workshop (10% crafting cost reduction). The heart itself manifests as a seismograph-like parchment scroll device with a faint animated face formed from the written text.
  10. Chuck returns, gives them a small figurine that summons him when crushed, and departs via smoke bomb. The party learns they can feed magic items to Eerie to grow its power — a level 6 item plus a level 3 item would unlock one new room. They debate sacrificing Johnny's beloved gingerbread house kit (level 6) for this purpose.
  11. The twins (the creepy pair traveling with the party) did not follow them into the heart-creation space and are now wandering the plot of land. The session wraps with out-of-character scheduling discussion.
