Fresh off their victory over the demon Sbrtlby Jones, the party loots his grow operation, rescues Anaïs and Anouk from the rubble, and returns to the Sin and Tonic to identify their spoils. The next morning they travel to a Prime Meridian sub-nexus to trade the Quinn painting to the Heart Rapid Connection in exchange for the keystone — succeeding through honest diplomacy. On their way out, they're ambushed by Crawford Reeves and Lewis Mallard of Concordia, leading to a dramatic combat where Johnny's Roaring Applause and Anzu's telekinetic push set up Benny for a devastating killing blow.

  1. Party searches Sbrtlby's body and the collapsing grow facility; Anzu identifies the plants as shiver (a hallucinogenic drug); Benny finds a spear, a key ring with four triangular yellow papers, three vials of yellow liquid, and a red choker.
  2. Arctos uses Godspeed to sprint through the facility searching for paintings but finds only bunks; the party exits before the building implodes inward without damaging surrounding structures.
  3. Party finds Anaïs and Anouk protected by a dome in the rubble; their vehicle was destroyed. The twins ride back with the party. Arctos asks them to build a radio tuned to a specific frequency (3 silver).
  4. Back at the Sin and Tonic, the party confirms paintings are safe with Elias. Item identification: Anzu fails on the choker and vials that night. Next morning he succeeds — choker is a Chthonian Choker of Elocution (grants Chthonian language, +1 Society), vials are greater addiction suppressants, papers are Fulus of Concealment (invisibility sphere vs. one creature type for 1 hour).
  5. Party drives to the Prime Meridian sub-nexus in Sableclutch, uses the radio to contact the facility, and is led inside by Low-Mechanitor Exitum-ρ-15 through claustrophobic machinery corridors (described as esophagus-like) to meet Archmechanic Hogan Voss Darkmoor.
  6. Darkmoor authenticates the Quinn painting, recognizes Arctos (the only talking bear), and after Arctos confirms Minister Vane authorized the trade, leads the party down a long elevator ride to the Fane of Rapid Connection — a powerful Heart controlling all train/bus travel in Hallia, communicating through gear vibrations.
  7. Rapid Connection offers alternatives (15,000 gold, free transit, priority shipping access) but the party insists on the keystone. The Heart accepts the Quinn and grants both the keystone AND free transit/licensing throughout Hallia. The painting is consumed (outer paint abraded to reveal the Pharos).
  8. Returning to the lobby, the party is confronted by Crawford Reeves and Lewis Mallard of Concordia with six Happy Time Enforcers, who declare them 'happiness sinks' and demand all possessions under procedural charter 14.8.
  9. Combat: Johnny's Roaring Applause slows Lewis Mallard (clapping triggers reactions). Anzu's amped telekinetic projectile critically hits Lewis and pushes him adjacent to Benny, who lands a critical strike for exactly 53 damage — Lewis's full HP — killing him instantly. Crawford Reeves dies when the gear symbol branded by the Heart explodes into rust after he takes a hostile action. Remaining enforcers collapse in flashes of blue light.
  10. Session ends with the party leveling up to level 6 and Josh noting six months of downtime are available before the next keystone event.
