Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Hello.
Tanner:Yes.
Jorge:Hello.
Tanner:Hello.
Tanner:How are you?
Jorge:Doing well, how are you?
Tanner:Pretty good.
Tanner:Oh.
Jorge:Great, Mike.
Jorge:you sound different than normal
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:I don't know.
Jorge:oh
Tanner:It's named Mike.
Jorge:different now
Jorge:maybe you need to wake up
Tanner:I was a little farther away from my mouth.
Tanner:I moved it.
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:Could be.
Tanner:Could be.
Jorge:I wasn't sure when people were going to log on so I was starting up rivals
Jorge:for five minutes but
Jorge:I turned it off
Tanner:Yes, of course.
Tanner:Of course, the five-minute match.
Tanner:That we all know exists.
Jorge:Blood Hunt. It's Blood Hunt.
Tanner:Oh, I don't know what that is. I haven't been on.
Jorge:It's a PVE thing.
Jorge:So you can fight Dracula.
Jorge:It's fun.
Tanner:Blood Hunt.
Tanner:That'll do it.
Jorge:Yeah. How are you?
Tanner:Yeah, I'm pretty good. I'm
Tanner:hopefully ready for this we see I never really know going in how it going to go
Jorge:you well this whole group plays marvel rivals so if we finish super early we can just do that
Tanner:yeah
Tanner:it's true
Tanner:that is true
Tanner:yeah
Jorge:but i've found whenever i've prepped uh the few times i've dm'd if anything i just do way more
Jorge:than I need.
Tanner:Which is probably good, and then you could skip
Tanner:something maybe if you have to.
Jorge:Yeah, but like, it's not even...
Tanner:I feel like a lot of times
Tanner:the ends of our one-shots
Tanner:kind of get hand-waved.
Jorge:Yeah, because like...
Tanner:It's like, okay, and you've done it now.
Jorge:I feel like...
Jorge:So I don't know if you've prepped this in your one shot,
Jorge:but I feel like there's just not enough time
Jorge:for our group to do two different fights.
Jorge:and maybe that's different i don't want to say like i found that like every time i try to plan
Tanner:Hmm.
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:Yeah, it has to be
Jorge:to we just always just it takes way longer than i expected
Jorge:but when it is pulled off it's fun yeah
Tanner:a small
Tanner:earlier fight,
Jorge:yeah did you know that dnd's partnering with wow
Tanner:if anything.
Jorge:that's crazy
Tanner:Yes.
Tanner:That's interesting.
Jorge:that is crazy
Tanner:it
Tanner:they're making like a bunch of
Jorge:oh
Tanner:content related
Tanner:to it like I think a bunch of like
Jorge:Hasbro
Tanner:classes and subclasses
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:yeah
Jorge:forgot their Hasbro and they sold out
Tanner:we're all about that cash now
Jorge:vacation
Jorge:had you looked at the
Jorge:Necromancer?
Tanner:uh
Tanner:no
Tanner:I
Tanner:I looked briefly
Tanner:at the other one
Tanner:the rune knight or whatever I didn look at the Necromancer Now you mentioned last week that maybe I should do it
Jorge:Yeah yeah so it the same
Jorge:so it's a
Jorge:it based
Jorge:non full caster
Jorge:um
Jorge:it's
Jorge:flavor wise
Jorge:it makes no sense
Jorge:for Anzu
Jorge:uh
Tanner:Right.
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Necromancer is like a total...
Tanner:Like vibe that you really gotta go for if you're gonna go for it
Jorge:yeah yeah um but i was thinking of making a character for a little bit for a couple of
Jorge:sessions but then i was just like this just doesn't fit into the party there is a there's
Jorge:different flavors of necromancers so there's like a blood necromancer that like the thralls are made
Jorge:of blood there's like a like more like flesh bag one um and then there's a spirit one and i feel
Tanner:Oh
Tanner:Ah
Tanner:right
Jorge:like the spirit is the only flavor you can play if you're not an evil character um yeah yeah
Tanner:but yeah that's the tough thing with the necromancer
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:also
Tanner:several of our current antagonists
Tanner:are necromancers
Tanner:so that makes it tricky as well
Jorge:the spirit one's funny
Jorge:because with certain necrophiles
Jorge:you can become holy
Jorge:and then your spirits
Jorge:can also do spirit damage
Jorge:but then also when they die or use abilities
Tanner:that's interesting
Jorge:they can heal your teammates
Jorge:which is cool
Jorge:and I feel like
Tanner:there's something
Jorge:you can flavor spirits
Jorge:to make yourself seem not like a necromancer
Jorge:like either like
Tanner:that can be done yeah
Jorge:like even i'm not saying franzi deuce but like it could be like psychic creatures you know like you
Tanner:hmm
Jorge:can kind of vibe it out but like the other feats that are just like the flesh from your thrall
Jorge:calcifies and you like all right there no way I can make this a good person
Tanner:yeah how do they flavor conjuring the spirit hold on is it
Jorge:So that necromancer, it's coined in the book as Vitamancer.
Tanner:I don't have the book download
Tanner:yeah that's not terrible
Jorge:I think it's like almost like Valhalla style things where you're summoning warriors and stuff.
Jorge:so this is um you can also flavor it so that the necromancer will give you like a lot of
Tanner:Whoa.
Jorge:like harm spells but you can take a feat that you can use harm to heal living creatures
Jorge:um and i was looking yeah and i was looking at it and i realized the necromancer
Tanner:Well, that's just backwards.
Tanner:Oh, calling on the ancestors
Jorge:the spirit necromancer was literally just the character lev pretended to be inside that dungeon
Jorge:where he's just like
Jorge:yeah and i was like for a moment there i was like i could flavor our gal as this but then i was just
Tanner:Well, that's what I was thinking
Tanner:is like the morally good way to do that
Tanner:is you bring your ancestors into battle with you
Tanner:or something like that
Tanner:impossible magic
Jorge:like it wouldn't fit
Jorge:it'd just be bad for the team comp
Jorge:because then we'd just
Jorge:we'd have no divine
Jorge:spells
Jorge:we'd have no one good at religion
Jorge:and
Jorge:we'd just have
Jorge:another int person I was like yeah we don't need this
Tanner:is that the book
Tanner:oh I do have it downloaded somewhere
Jorge:yeah
Jorge:You can also ask pf2.workacove.work to, and you can select the impossible magic one and
Tanner:oh well
Tanner:hmm
Jorge:then ask it about vitamin answers.
Jorge:I swapped it to use OpenAI models instead of Anthropic, and I think it's worse, so I'm
Jorge:going to swap it back.
Jorge:it was slower and it didn't seem to do as like second order thinking like i feel like opus was
Tanner:It was not giving as good results.
Jorge:asking questions like what are good healing spells it would find me spells but also find
Jorge:me potentially like oh you could take a harm spell but then like use this feat to then make
Jorge:it healing so it's like secondary thoughts well i think that the open ai ones i've been seeing are
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Jorge:largely like first order thoughts but yeah i don't keep i don't keep track of your sessions by the
Tanner:How are you, Michael?
Mike:Huh?
Jorge:way in case anyone's wondering i don't look like when mike when mike was just like oh did you see
Jorge:it i don't see it i don't know what it is so if you ask it how to kill i probably could just add
Tanner:You could if you wanted.
Jorge:I can't as is. I'd have to change it to be Snoopy.
Mike:I'll write a report. Here's what people asked today.
Jorge:I have a classifier. See if they're doing anything.
Jorge:Do your best.
Mike:You have your own model safeguards?
Mike:I have a class about how to try to figure out if anyone's trying to fucking kill Argyle.
Jorge:Suddenly it goes, don't. Arndell's a great party member.
Jorge:And it's the last one you should try to hurt.
Jorge:what happened to Tiananmen Square
Mike:It's like the tests when you're talking to Chinese models.
Mike:and you're like,
Mike:was Taiwan a country?
Tanner:Oh, jeez.
Mike:And it's like, no.
Mike:You're like, okay.
Jorge:they made it better
Jorge:they made it better
Mike:I don't know if you've talked to them.
Mike:They answer that way.
Mike:Taiwan is a
Mike:territory of China.
Mike:Always has been.
Tanner:I have heard about that, yeah.
Jorge:yep
Jorge:They used to which was also funny was their classifier was lazy so like runs as it responding because it streaming so if you ask like what happened in tanneman square
Tanner:Kind of crazy.
Mike:Yeah.
Mike:Thank you the the open weights ones also they not live they have it in their training
Tanner:you I feel like I saw a clip like that too
Jorge:it would start answering and then all of a sudden stop and then it would delete everything it wrote
Jorge:and it goes sorry i can't answer that yeah no i saw it firsthand
Jorge:yeah
Jorge:yeah it's really funny
Mike:you can see in their thought trace
Tanner:Stop making up historical events.
Mike:they're just like
Mike:this guy's asking about fucking nothing
Mike:nothing happened what are you talking about
Mike:is that for real
Mike:I didn't realize how nice it was inside
Jorge:yeah
Jorge:Mike's gonna go get a job at JP Morgan
Jorge:so he can visit the office
Jorge:just for that reason.
Tanner:Oh.
Tanner:You're.
Tanner:Are you sick and tired of your useless cut workers?
Mike:it's very dangerous
Mike:now
Mike:what the hell is this
Mike:look at my page
Mike:now
Mike:no
Jorge:I just saw a clip of The Office
Mike:I didn't realize they had like a whole floor
Jorge:and I was like, this is really nice.
Jorge:Mike, you need to go get this job.
Jorge:I now
Mike:that's just a fucking gym super high up
Mike:that's fucking sick
Jorge:I now know why
Jorge:the owner or the CEO was so mad
Tanner:And don't go home.
Jorge:when people didn't want to come into the office
Jorge:he's like I built a fucking luxury hotel
Jorge:yeah
Mike:this is like the coolest
Mike:vertical campus that you've ever seen
Mike:fucking come into the goddamn
Jorge:Okay you Thank you
Mike:office, you assholes.
Mike:It's also
Mike:super awkward
Mike:with this one dude on my team
Mike:because he's had like
Mike:three PRs since he
Mike:joined in like
Mike:December of last year.
Mike:He's doing a lot of research, which
Mike:means I think he's writing Jupyter notebooks or whatever
Mike:and then making other people write the actual code which I don know when they going to be sick of him or if they even feel like they can hire someone else it very difficult for us to hire in new york um but he
Mike:also the second highest user of ai on our team which that one like the first highest user who
Mike:in the last 30 days blew fucking ten thousand dollars on credits i don't know what he's i don't
Mike:know what the output is. I don't know
Mike:what he's doing. The other guy
Mike:who has 3PR has spent
Jorge:I do a good amount
Tanner:I think
Mike:$5,700. Where's
Mike:the output? You don't write
Mike:code. You don't write
Mike:you don't even merge code.
Mike:Who is
Mike:where is this going?
Jorge:I only do AI coding
Jorge:and I do a good amount of work
Jorge:and I spend around like 5 to 7k a month
Jorge:and that's hammering it
Jorge:I don't know what those people are doing
Mike:That should be the max.
Tanner:maybe they're using
Tanner:the AI to create movies
Jorge:I mean, I...
Tanner:for their own cinematic universe
Tanner:they're developing.
Mike:I.
Tanner:Just completely AI-generated films.
Mike:I struggled to get to think of how you get to that, that.
Mike:It just doesn't compute for me.
Mike:I ask it to do big shit.
Mike:I literally go, here's a here's a random message that I pulled off of Kafka.
Mike:There's something wrong in it.
Mike:Here's the entire repo.
Mike:Figure out what's wrong with it.
Jorge:Well, do you want to...
Mike:And it works for 10 minutes.
Mike:And it's like GPT Sol, extra high, fucking Mr. Meander.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:And then he comes back to me after 10 minutes with the answer.
Jorge:is there an extra high
Mike:And I'm like, how much does this cost?
Mike:He's like, $4.
Jorge:okay
Mike:I mean, we have it on our internal.
Mike:They probably have to have some sort of universal mapping.
Jorge:i thought it was yeah i don't remember off the top of my i just know it has a
Mike:Because I know Opus has an extra high.
Mike:I don't know if Sol does.
Jorge:low medium high and then there's a maximum ultra i just don't remember if there's an extra high in
Jorge:there if there is an extra high that's ridiculous how many fucking settings do you need i mean
Mike:Maybe extra high maps to max.
Mike:I don know I feel like a DJ picking DJs just fucking touch shit out of the board They don even know what they doing I like ah medium extra high I don know I don know
Jorge:you know yeah Well what I tend to do to get
Jorge:and this is how I get some more token burn,
Jorge:is I use an ultra model,
Jorge:and then I have it spin up for every task,
Jorge:three parallel media models
Jorge:to spin up different implementations,
Jorge:and then have the ultra pick the best one,
Jorge:and also prefer the simpler,
Jorge:more human-readable, less-code options
Tanner:It doesn't say you're muted, but you're not making any sounds.
Mike:10 grand.
Jorge:when possible.
Jorge:And that still... And I do a lot
Jorge:of coding, and that still
Jorge:burns 5 to 5k
Jorge:max. And honestly, I spent
Jorge:more this month because I was making my own editor.
Mike:50% of my team uses 2% of the token budget.
Jorge:You're muted, Josh.
Jorge:Oh, I can't hear you.
Mike:I can't hear him either.
Jorge:But I'm making my own editor.
Mike:Maybe Tanner can hear him.
Mike:Tanner, can you translate?
Tanner:I think he said
Mike:Tanner, you must be able to hear him.
Jorge:He thought the psychic was still too low,
Tanner:I've decided for next session
Mike:just once
Tanner:to level
Tanner:Tanner's character Anzu up
Tanner:I just get it plus one level
Mike:he's struggling
Jorge:so he's going to let you be a level higher.
Tanner:compared to everybody else
Tanner:oh
Tanner:that was an
Mike:but
Mike:but
Tanner:exclaim of anguish that we just
Tanner:couldn't hear right there
Jorge:Have you...
Mike:the guy
Mike:the guy that uses like 5500
Tanner:Oh my god.
Mike:tokens and has merged
Jorge:I
Mike:three to five PRs his entire tenure on the team.
Mike:He is also in the office six days a week
Mike:for like 12 hours a day,
Mike:just on the phone with, I can only imagine, his relatives.
Tanner:where is all the money coming from to
Mike:And he just eats the free food 12 hours a day,
Mike:no code gets merged, and boom, 5,000 in tokens.
Mike:I don't know who is managing him or what's going on,
Mike:but that's what I see.
Tanner:pay these inefficient workers
Mike:Great question. Let's ask my boss who I've heard is notoriously
Jorge:Well, Tanner, the other issue is that a lot of these companies want on their earnings that they're spending a lot on coding agents to show they're not falling behind other people who are also spending it.
Tanner:but it's all like just junk expenditure right isn't it all just fake
Mike:load of fire people.
Jorge:So there's like some incentivization there.
Mike:Oh, for some people, yeah.
Jorge:So some people, for example, I actually feel like I'm 10x my output.
Jorge:but I don't know how sustainable this is.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:Oh.
Jorge:Oh, there's Mac.
Jorge:And Uber, there's a famous case
Jorge:where the CTO of Uber in April was just like,
Jorge:so we've spent all of our AI budget already for the year.
Jorge:And then the CEO of Uber in like July was just like,
Jorge:we spent millions and millions of dollars in AI coding
Jorge:and we don't see that in revenue.
Jorge:So like, what are we doing?
Tanner:Yeah, I was using Uber a month ago, and it didn't really seem any different from the year before or the year before that.
Mike:didn't this spotify ceo go on a podcast be like we're we're deploying to prod
Jorge:Like, sure.
Jorge:So he's just like, I don't know why we're spending this because engineers are doing more things.
Jorge:But like, what is these things do?
Jorge:I don't know.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:5,000 times a day now because of AI.
Mike:And it's just like, are you guys
Jorge:well yeah spotify is a horribly managed company like they they wrote the book on how to use agile
Josh:I'm Agile certified.
Mike:uploading it for every new song released?
Mike:Is there a code change required
Mike:to update the songs in Spotify?
Mike:Why the fuck are you
Mike:releasing a prod 5,000 times a day?
Jorge:horribly and they had to cancel it did you guys ever work with agile
Jorge:spotify took it to like new levels they had like you had like your squads and then you had like tribes and then they were like warrior factions and then they were like cross wanderers and then
Mike:Thank you They had like
Tanner:you Oh my god
Jorge:they like wrote books and then they quietly just got rid of it because they didn't get anything
Jorge:done people were just what the fuck was happening all day there were councils
Jorge:it was just
Mike:guilds and shit
Mike:and it's like, what guild are you part of?
Mike:guilds are at War again. It's like,
Tanner:I like their LARPing over there.
Jorge:yeah yeah so they had yeah yeah she had she had tribes and then in the tribes this was like a
Mike:are you guys shipping anything? It's like, what the fuck
Mike:do we have to ship? It's a music library.
Mike:People sign in, music gets
Mike:uploaded, we get a shitload of revenue.
Mike:I'm gonna go play ping pong with my guildmates.
Mike:Lots of love.
Jorge:team there were also like
Jorge:chapters so like different
Jorge:people from different sub teams across
Tanner:Oh, of multiple tribes?
Josh:I mean, it doesn't sound like a bad time.
Jorge:teams and then there were guilds
Jorge:that then mapped across chapters
Jorge:and tribes
Jorge:it's like alright this is ridiculous
Jorge:the fuck are you guys doing
Jorge:oh there was alliances I forgot there were alliances
Jorge:in charters
Jorge:uh yeah yeah
Jorge:so
Jorge:this is just
Tanner:Now I'm feeling like they're playing Survivor.
Jorge:laughing
Jorge:You know they got nothing done because they were just
Josh:they didn't like this
Jorge:brainstorming.
Jorge:Thanks to...
Mike:my god.
Jorge:Uh...
Tanner:What the hell?
Josh:this was bad
Mike:Wait, did you get
Mike:the picture that has the guild included?
Josh:yeah no there are guilds here
Mike:This is what I'm seeing.
Jorge:Oh, I...
Josh:cause there's the agile coach guild
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah, no, it's just like, what the fuck are you guys doing?
Mike:Why are there
Mike:targets? How did
Josh:okay
Mike:this get through any
Mike:woke fucking
Jorge:What the fuck is this?
Mike:anything?
Josh:Oh this one makes more sense Yeah I get this one
Mike:Jorge what is this one You know what No no this one makes sense
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:No don say that
Mike:All of these make sense if you just replace all of the people with agents.
Josh:So, this particular organization sucks, but I'm just going to, one second, I'm just going
Mike:Then I think it probably works, but only because you can put agents in a horrible system and
Mike:they'll probably produce something reasonable.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:No, it's like...
Jorge:uh
Tanner:I like this chart.
Josh:to paste.
Josh:The chart that Jorge most recently did, when I saw the bit in the top with the agile whatever,
Josh:it immediately made me think of this
Josh:which I don't know if that's what they were going for
Josh:it's just
Tanner:I like the chart where you can fall into the category of
Josh:with low autonomy and low alignment
Tanner:does not know what to be done and cannot fix it.
Jorge:uh
Tanner:How do you end up there?
Jorge:yeah
Mike:uh
Josh:that's why you need to increase your alignment
Josh:as you can tell by this umbrella
Josh:which inside of the umbrella are all of the squads.
Jorge:yeah
Josh:Also, is this diagram recursive?
Jorge:oh yes
Josh:In the autonomous squad section,
Josh:under relevant stakeholders,
Josh:is that the whole thing just squished?
Jorge:This looks like it...
Mike:How many product backlogs do they have?
Mike:Is it just the two?
Mike:It does look like it'd be just the two.
Mike:But no, those are the enterprise architects.
Mike:They come up with this horse shit.
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:So if you're wondering who the most important people are,
Mike:it's not even managed.
Mike:What are all these arrows?
Mike:The arrow from agile coaches down to the alignment umbrella.
Mike:I don't...
Jorge:It looks like it was made...
Mike:Who are they talking to?
Josh:The Agile coaches are the ones helping with alignment.
Josh:Does that not make sense to you
Jorge:This looks like it was made by like a school UN Team UN group This is so ridiculous
Tanner:Hmm Mmm
Mike:Thank you What
Josh:Yes, that is ridiculous.
Jorge:Spotify, they're the Swedish ones.
Jorge:Or the Norwegian ones?
Josh:What?
Mike:I think so.
Mike:I think they're Swedish.
Jorge:Swedish?
Jorge:Are they Swedish or Norwegian?
Mike:Same thing.
Jorge:from Stockholm, Sweden, Sweden, yeah
Tanner:Whoa, hold on.
Mike:is Spotify down?
Jorge:European countries are so funny
Mike:I told you the same thing.
Jorge:I love hearing about like
Jorge:tech companies that have like European branches
Jorge:and they're like, yeah, you know like
Jorge:when comes summer
Jorge:they don't work
Mike:No, that's the thing.
Mike:The thing is Spotify makes a lot of money
Mike:and was founded in Europe.
Mike:and you're not allowed to do that.
Jorge:What?
Mike:So they have to come up with this insane org chart
Mike:to make it feel like a commune.
Mike:They have to be like, no, no, no.
Mike:The guys that make all the decisions and all the money,
Mike:they're in the top left here.
Mike:That's not, look at all the circles.
Mike:Look at, everyone's a stakeholder in this.
Mike:Look at the puzzle pieces.
Mike:And we have a backlog.
Mike:Guys, look at all,
Mike:do you want to be part of a guild and a tribe
Mike:at the same time?
Mike:If you just create such an overbearing corporate structure,
Mike:You can obfuscate real capitalism going on so Europe doesn't stop you from doing business.
Jorge:what what social media company was based in france that was like it blew up like wildfire
Jorge:but then it had some bugs and then summer happened and then all of the engineering
Jorge:team was just like well it's summer so i'm not gonna work and then it just like collapsed
Jorge:I think it might have been
Mike:Let's see.
Mike:Let's see.
Mike:Be Real was a photo sharing app.
Mike:Yubo.
Mike:Global...
Jorge:was it Bria?
Josh:Be Real kind of sounds like it. Be Real was very popular for a very short period of time
Jorge:I don't know
Jorge:I think it was Be Real.
Tanner:People got pissed at the
Mike:Yeah, what the fuck?
Josh:and then dropped off the face of the earth.
Jorge:I was going to say Be Real, so it's definitely Be Real.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Ark Raiders devs for going on
Tanner:Christmas holiday for
Tanner:two weeks. They were like,
Tanner:where's my content updates? What about all these
Tanner:cheaters?
Mike:I'm at home,
Josh:How dare they?
Mike:and I just have a fucking Xbox.
Mike:I want to talk to my family.
Mike:Can you up this game?
Mike:Fucking.
Tanner:I need more endgame content.
Jorge:They sucked.
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:I played 80 hours in two weeks.
Josh:I enjoyed Ark Raiders.
Mike:I found no fun endgame content.
Jorge:People, I don't know.
Jorge:I found like, I liked Dark Raiders for a little bit,
Jorge:but I was like, I just don't,
Jorge:these people are taking it way too seriously.
Josh:I got a considerable amount of time out of it.
Josh:I figure I will revisit it in like two years
Josh:when the devs that have had time to like catch up
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:and chuck new things into it.
Jorge:and and like the thing is i think for me at least i'm just not the biggest fan of extraction
Jorge:shoot like it's just it's just a genre thing for me and like when they were talking about
Jorge:there isn't that much end game content for me i'm like it's an extraction shooter the whole point is
Jorge:to be a squirrel to just to just pack it out and then sometimes take it out but like i don't know
Jorge:i don't know what what do they want an extraction shooter story
Jorge:yeah
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:I want a story.
Jorge:yeah
Josh:Like Marathon.
Tanner:Oh.
Mike:Marathon is a story.
Jorge:what
Josh:Marathon does have a story.
Jorge:did they disable it yet
Josh:They did fire the lead dev.
Jorge:yeah
Josh:Disable Marathon?
Josh:No, but they're hard pivoting.
Jorge:okay
Jorge:to what
Josh:Well, so this past season, for the rest of the season,
Josh:they announced PvE roguelite mode.
Jorge:okay
Josh:And next season they apparently focusing entirely on improving the PvE experience by which I mean making a PvE game mode permanent Coinciding with the fact that they fired the original lead dev
Josh:because he was super PvP focused.
Josh:And given that Marathon is now Bungie's only IP,
Josh:I guess they're looking to salvage it.
Josh:I don't think it's going to work.
Josh:But, you know, they're trying to...
Jorge:
Jorge:if they make a PVE
Jorge:I really love PVEs
Mike:Holy.
Josh:We'll see.
Jorge:I will definitely hop back
Jorge:if it's a roguelite
Jorge:that'd be so fun
Jorge:love roguelites
Jorge:I
Josh:They're really good at making shooters.
Josh:They're also really, really good at ruining whatever they make
Josh:with the most brain-dead decisions I have ever seen a corporation perform
Josh:over and over and over and over and over again.
Josh:They're talented like that.
Jorge:yeah
Jorge:yeah
Jorge:yeah
Mike:Dude, I can't believe I'm about to block a fucking recruiter from calling me.
Josh:We'll see.
Jorge:uh i also two other games i want to flag that i want to play so i'm gonna play i've seen small
Mike:No.
Josh:What?
Jorge:clips of the uh you you're running a gas station and there's doppelgangers that coming in
Jorge:do you guys know this game
Jorge:um there's like potential doppelgangers and you have to serve them you have to decide if they're
Josh:That doesn't narrow it down. There are a few games that are like that.
Mike:No.
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:like real or not and then um yeah that one looks fun um and i also the problem is i really like
Mike:I've seen that one, yeah.
Jorge:pve with friend games which is 100 the ai slop market right now so i see so many clips about
Jorge:random games like this and i'm like oh i wish it was good i really wish one of these was good
Jorge:there's one where like a train it's like snowpiercer where like you have to drive the
Jorge:train and if you stop too long your engine freezes and it won't restart but you have to like scavenge
Josh:There what is it Is it the Long Walk is the current big friend slot game No not the long walk What is it What is it Walking game That just came out The big walk
Jorge:for supplies and like, oh, this looks fun.
Jorge:Ratings are bad.
Jorge:There a spaceship one Ratings are bad They just like Raft with other things
Tanner:you No
Mike:you That so good
Jorge:Tanner, have you played Lethal Company?
Tanner:My brother bought it for me.
Jorge:We should play!
Tanner:So I believe it.
Jorge:We used to have to get some rando from Buffalo to play,
Jorge:but now we can play with Tanner
Tanner:Leave.
Mike:We got several randos.
Josh:We did.
Jorge:and Redfish.
Mike:I can't believe when Kyle played with us.
Jorge:We can have Redfish.
Mike:Did you guys play with Kyle, or was it just me and Redfish and a couple other people?
Josh:I think so.
Jorge:I think I played with Kyle, but I'm not sure.
Mike:I think that was the one where it was either Kyle or Redfish.
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:They were talking.
Mike:I was the only one alive, and they're like, nah, he's got this.
Mike:Because Jorge was like, I think he's going to die.
Mike:He's like, nah, he's got this.
Mike:And then I clutched up.
Mike:And you're like, yo, they were like, nah, he's got this.
Mike:And I was like, dude, I got that.
Josh:For context, Tanner,
Mike:But no, there was Kyle has a mechanical keyboard and his mic was set up like to too high of a gain and the dogs got him.
Mike:And it literally said, you know, like the death message because their mod death messages says like, you know, sucks about your mechanical keyboard or like maybe you should get acquired or mechanical keyboard.
Mike:I'm like, oh, my God, he did die from his mechanical keyboard.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:there's an enemy in the game that if it can hear you if you're speaking in in-game voice chat
Jorge:and there was one time where they were coming back and i was with the man in the chair
Tanner:yeah yeah
Josh:and his keyboard set it off which is where that comes from
Jorge:and i called down a cheap item to get flown in to make a bunch of noise to draw the dogs in
Jorge:and i was like this will buy them time but then they thought i was buying something that they
Jorge:should get so they all like ran into it and then got murdered by the dogs i was like i bought like
Tanner:yeah
Josh:Okay Okay
Tanner:yeah
Jorge:a tic I was just trying to distract them I thought it was clear I done it with other people
Tanner:That sounds like a strategy you gotta set up ahead of time And I guess
Jorge:There's also...
Jorge:Do you know anything about the enemies?
Tanner:Uh, I did once upon a time, but I don't really remember.
Tanner:I did know that there is, like, a noise component.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:One of them is a...
Jorge:There's also mimics,
Jorge:which kill someone and then look like them.
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:Oh my god.
Josh:Oilheads or Brackens.
Jorge:It's funny being the man in the chair
Jorge:and then seeing someone walking and then an enemy
Jorge:and then they just disappear
Jorge:and then you see an enemy moving around
Jorge:and then you're like, there's Mimics!
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:The mimics are so scary.
Mike:What else?
Mike:I forgot what they're called.
Jorge:The Giant?
Mike:The fucking neck snappers.
Mike:The Giant, yeah.
Jorge:Oh, um...
Mike:Yeah, the bracket is fucking great.
Jorge:Brackens, Brackens.
Jorge:With the backers.
Mike:No, the coil head, the mod bracken is fucking crazy.
Mike:So the coil heads, Tanner, are like, are these mannequins that have like a coil and then like their head is bouncy.
Mike:But the thing is, when you're not looking at them, they just sprint at you.
Mike:So you just hear super loud footsteps like da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Mike:And they are insanely fast.
Mike:I think they're about the same speed or maybe a bit quicker than someone running.
Mike:And they immediately kill you if they get close enough to you.
Mike:If they touch you, you just die immediately.
Mike:I remember spectating Josh once.
Tanner:Oh my god.
Mike:And I think he was the only one alive in, like, the mansion level.
Mike:And I'm like, I can't believe Josh doesn't like horror and we left him alive.
Mike:And then he just turns around and you just hear boing.
Mike:Because when you look at it, it stops moving and its head, like, makes the boing sound.
Mike:And he's just like, oh, my God.
Mike:And I'm like, oh, dude, he's fucking dead.
Mike:He's so dead.
Mike:This is the scariest thing to face alone.
Mike:And then he just, like, turns and starts running.
Mike:And you hear the da-da-da-da-da-da.
Mike:And then he turns around at the last second and it's right there.
Mike:I'm like, how is he clutching up right now? I would have shit myself like what's going on. What am I watching and then?
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:And the Bracken would kidnap people in the non-modded mode.
Mike:It's like this guy with all these feathers going out.
Mike:And you just see him in the back.
Mike:He's not really aggro.
Mike:You'd just be looking around, and you'd see white eyes down the hallway.
Mike:And you're like, Bracken, Bracken, guys, this is a Bracken down the hallway.
Mike:And he would just grab people.
Mike:You would just grab your friend.
Mike:Not kill him instantly, but grab him.
Mike:And then you hear him like, no, please help me.
Mike:As they're being pulled down a fucking hallway.
Mike:And the modded version created a minigame.
Mike:So after the Bracken takes you away, it puts you in a hallway and you have to outrun the Bracken like dodging pipes.
Jorge:There's also the gesture.
Tanner:I feel like
Mike:And then you get to an exit door.
Mike:And if you can open the exit door in time, the Bracken doesn't kill you and you just spawn back up.
Mike:So if you see your boy get taken by the Bracken, you're like, do we wait for him?
Mike:I don't know. How good is he at the game?
Mike:And then you're just standing there like, God, I fucking hope he makes it, dude.
Mike:And then he just pops out like, let's get out of here.
Mike:Let's get the fuck out of here.
Mike:The Bracken's still alive.
Mike:Let's go, go, go.
Mike:It's so scary.
Tanner:I'm going to pee my pants playing this game.
Jorge:there's the jester yeah no there's there's a jester that starts once you see it and it sees
Mike:Oh my god the jester
Josh:For what it's worth,
Mike:Or when your friends sacrifice themselves
Jorge:you it starts winding and there's just a timer you don't know how long it's gonna go once it
Jorge:pops it just kills everyone there's nothing you can do and you just have to leave so like you're
Jorge:like oh no we gotta get out of this level that's a terrifying one
Mike:Yeah
Mike:Yeah
Josh:I am a naturally very scared person.
Jorge:Gideon.
Josh:The game is 98% of the time only goofy.
Josh:And then 2% of the time, like, you get caught in the dark on your own.
Josh:You hear your friend say, ah!
Josh:And then, like, cut out.
Josh:And they're stomping in the distance and it gets very scary.
Josh:But for the vast, vast majority of the time, you're walking through a bunch of hallways with a toy robot that's, like, doing this.
Jorge:Gideon.
Josh:Being chased by a slime that moving very slowly on the ground Like I you know it
Jorge:Yeah you yeah there been times
Tanner:Alright we give it a go at some point
Mike:But it so scary when you like the last one to enter like say they like they were able to do
Mike:a jumping puzzle take a shortcut you're like fuck whatever i'll take the ladder and then they're all
Mike:in and then you open the front door and you're like guys
Mike:guys because you've been in this because you've been in the same position
Jorge:there's been times
Jorge:yeah
Mike:where you're the one that goes first and insta-die
Jorge:oh and then also one other thing that yeah yeah and the other thing two other things before you
Tanner:As if you can't hear anybody, there's two reasons why.
Mike:and like three people insta-die and you're like
Mike:oh he doesn't know and then you watch them open the door
Mike:and they go guys and you're like
Mike:he's fucking completely dead there's something that's gonna
Mike:insta-kill him in like five seconds
Mike:so you're like are they just too far
Mike:to hear me or am I going to get insta-killed
Mike:if they don't respond
Mike:yeah
Mike:yeah
Mike:yeah
Jorge:good play but you also need to get a certain amount of items because i think it's like every
Jorge:three days you need to hit a quota and the quota's like increasing so you have to go deeper into the
Jorge:procedurally generated maps to like get the better items and there's the longer you stay the more
Jorge:dangerous it gets um and then the other funny thing is you can spend some money you're like
Jorge:is this worth it i might not make the deadline um oh and there's a teleporter so if you have a man
Jorge:in the chair and they see something's happening they can zap you out but you drop all your items
Mike:You gotta buy it.
Jorge:but then like if you're a man in the chair you'd be looking and they're like there's a red dot is
Tanner:you don't got like a radio connection to speak to them
Jorge:does he see it there's a fucking spider following him does he see the spider does he see the spider
Jorge:and then like you're watching this and you're like do i zap him out uh but yeah
Jorge:no so the guy in the the guy in the chair can buy a one-way message so he can send messages
Jorge:to other peoples.
Mike:No, no, you can buy walkie-talkies, too.
Jorge:Oh, oh yeah, I forgot.
Mike:No?
Mike:yeah
Jorge:You can buy a walkie-talkie,
Jorge:but keep in mind,
Mike:that is also very true and you have to have it out yeah
Jorge:if you have a walkie-talkie on
Jorge:and someone talks it can let enemies know where you are Oh and then you also need to charge your walkie you have to you have to have it out and you have to charge it because if you forget to charge it
Tanner:Thank you Uh
Jorge:it's not there and then with the teleporter oh you need to charge your flashlights too and then
Tanner:This is very logistically complex.
Jorge:with the teleporter i've done this by accident a couple times because i was usually the man in the
Jorge:chair you could accidentally teleport a mimic in because it looks like your friend then there's a
Tanner:Oh my god.
Mike:got it yeah
Mike:oh no the mod the mod records all audio in the session so the mod like you'll walk by and you'll
Jorge:murder machine in spawn
Jorge:and then everyone that walks
Jorge:in just sees someone and the
Jorge:mimic will copy your voice and be like
Jorge:hello there and they're like what
Jorge:and they're just like
Jorge:what
Jorge:what
Mike:hear me go hey did you get that lamp and you're like no i didn't get that and then you're fucking
Mike:dead because i've the mimic has already grabbed you and now there's two mimics or whatever and
Mike:And then yours will walk up and be like, hey, guys, I have a chip on my shoulder or whatever.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:when you say the mod
Josh:their view of the game
Mike:And then they'll be like, and then it'll just trick.
Tanner:are you talking about like a mod to the game
Mike:Yeah, it's not in the base game.
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:is very heavily skewed by the
Josh:fact that like a day after we
Josh:started playing this I put together
Josh:an 100 mod like
Josh:mod pack and we played the majority of the
Josh:time off of that mod pack
Josh:well
Mike:And the best mod.
Jorge:And there was gritty dances.
Tanner:hmm
Tanner:so you're not playing the base game
Mike:Oh yeah, we could gritty. That was the thing.
Josh:We haven't played Lethal Company in months, so we're not playing anything.
Jorge:Oh, no.
Josh:But at the time, most of the stuff they're describing is vanilla, but some of it does come from mods.
Josh:We did play very heavily modded.
Mike:The best mod...
Josh:Mostly to add things.
Josh:It didn't, like, change vanilla too much.
Mike:The best mod was
Josh:Yes, sorry.
Mike:the CRT TV.
Mike:that you could paste a YouTube link into,
Josh:I knew you were going to say that.
Josh:you Dracula flow
Jorge:or the boombox I kill a flow
Mike:and it would grab the video and play the YouTube video on the CRT TV So at that time I was listening Yes I was playing Dracula Flow
Tanner:Oh you were playing the stupid I heard about this
Jorge:you're playing on the boombox
Tanner:Yes.
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:So you'd walk up to the ship
Mike:and you'd be like
Mike:I don't give a shit.
Mike:I've never given a shit.
Mike:Whatever the fuck he says.
Mike:That was absolutely
Mike:killing me. And that would attract
Mike:the dogs if they were on that level.
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Tanner:Yeah, you can never give Mike too much power.
Jorge:What was the last time we played?
Mike:Oh, and the modded maps also, like secret labs, absolutely terrifying.
Josh:I mean, who knows what the actual landscape of modding is at Lethal Company nowadays.
Mike:There's so many dead ends and secret labs.
Mike:You can see so far down a hallway.
Josh:It's been years.
Mike:Probably have AI.
Jorge:How can you check that on Steam?
Josh:It's all AI.
Mike:Year and a half ago?
Josh:I'm gonna check and Steam's gonna say
Tanner:Oh, that is a long time ago.
Josh:you played this yesterday, what are you talking about?
Jorge:Last Online?
Mike:That happened to me when I logged into my GeoGuessr account.
Josh:I don't even think I have it
Jorge:42 hours ago?
Josh:last
Josh:played January 28th, 2024
Josh:yeah
Josh:hmm
Josh:if you if you guys actually do want to play should i see if there's like a
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:We should spend this up. Tanner, you should get it.
Jorge:It's $10.
Tanner:I have it.
Jorge:Mods are free.
Mike:He has it.
Jorge:Oh, yes, yes. Play it. We should play it.
Tanner:My brother...
Jorge:Another day. After you run the session.
Jorge:What do you mean pared down?
Mike:Yeah, I pared down.
Josh:more pared down set of modern mods for us to play with
Josh:well because i want tanner if tanner's playing with us and he wants to play with us
Josh:I'd want him to get at least some of the Lethal Company experience
Josh:before it's, you know, Goku peeking his head around a corner or something like that.
Josh:Like, I think the last mod I added in was to replace the Joker music box sound with Free Bird.
Mike:Yeah, well, let's just...
Mike:That was so funny.
Josh:So, like...
Mike:Oh my God.
Jorge:you remember someone running with a shotgun
Tanner:Terrible.
Mike:By the way, this thing runs like hell.
Josh:Which is, you know, it's a good time.
Mike:And you can hear...
Mike:And it accelerates once it pops out of the box.
Mike:So instead, you just hear like...
Mike:And then when he pops out, it's...
Mike:Just sprinting around chasing people.
Josh:I just...
Jorge:as this is happening
Mike:Oh, God.
Mike:I completely forgot about the fucking nutcracker and the shotgun.
Josh:Either way.
Mike:But we'll have him play...
Mike:We'll just play vanilla.
Jorge:obviously yeah
Tanner:I guess we should play Dungeons and Dragons.
Mike:We'll just play vanilla for the first few and then load up as many mods as possible.
Josh:If we want to play... we should also ask Noah if he'd like to play. The more the merrier with this kind of game.
Josh:So...
Jorge:yeah
Josh:Oh.
Jorge:yeah
Mike:Sure.
Tanner:I enjoyed...
Tanner:I received three
Tanner:different levels
Tanner:of character sheet.
Josh:Oh.
Mike:And was one of them correct?
Tanner:Which...
Jorge:was i the 100 or was i the 40 okay great great great great great just double checking i didn't
Tanner:Well, one of them is 0% of a character sheet, one of them is 100% of the character sheet, and then the other one is maybe 40% of a character sheet?
Mike:Wait, but which one...
Josh:I'm so sorry.
Tanner:And really, all forms are acceptable because I'm not using Foundry or anything like that, so I don't really care, but I just thought that was amusing.
Tanner:Yeah, you're 100, yeah.
Jorge:Disgrace my name.
Mike:Who had the correct level?
Tanner:What do you mean?
Jorge:I did.
Jorge:I had the correct level.
Tanner:Right, I received all of Jorge's character, yeah.
Mike:Oh, I thought you said...
Jorge:I had 100% of it.
Mike:I thought you said the other two made incorrect levels.
Mike:I was like, they...
Mike:I thought it was just a reading thing.
Jorge:That's where I got nervous for a second.
Jorge:I was like, I definitely read that wrong.
Jorge:guys
Mike:Well I not panicking to send you it so I didn send you the zero percent can you send it to him in json
Jorge:okay i actually sent 90 percent tenor i accidentally picked the wrong race
Josh:Sorry about that.
Tanner:Oh this is an interesting format Yeah I don really care so It no problem
Tanner:Okay, that's kind of...
Tanner:That's metal as hell.
Jorge:i'm gonna swap that right now i'm gonna swap that right now
Tanner:Oh, did you switch?
Tanner:I was going to
Jorge:I took my
Tanner:roast you for that once we got to it
Tanner:but you beat me to it
Tanner:Yeah, it's a shame that they haven't really updated that to work with the new...
Jorge:from your last campaign strong
Jorge:and then I made him a fourth level
Jorge:changed a couple of things the Goliath guy
Jorge:but yeah
Jorge:D&D Beyond has a terrible way to build
Jorge:characters it's so much better on
Jorge:OrcaPup
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:Also, they didn't have...
Josh:I mean, level 4 is kind of a low enough level in 5e that it's pretty easy to just do it
Tanner:Yeah, that's part of the reason that I've been doing lower level one shots, just because
Josh:manually.
Josh:That's fair.
Mike:there also wasn't enough
Tanner:it's annoying to build characters, but also it's easier to plan low level one shots anyway.
Josh:talking talking about items um i i didn't ask this because i didn't actually think it was
Mike:cool
Mike:items in D&D Beyond
Tanner:I mean, I just...
Mike:I was like give me this
Mike:and they're like we don't have it
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:rush out buddy
Tanner:you could have bought those that fine yeah yeah yeah you can just keep it as the goliath
Mike:what the fuck
Josh:important enough i could just throw it out uh for the money that you gave us
Josh:I believe in 2024 edition
Josh:health potions got turned into
Josh:common magic items instead of being like mundane can we have health potions or would you rather not Okay Okay
Jorge:And I just be a Goliath that looks like you
Tanner:no it's fine my feeling is that the type of society not that the flavor really matters but
Jorge:It reset all of my stats and everything, and I just...
Tanner:the type of society they have here,
Tanner:a Goliath would fit in.
Jorge:Great, great, great, great, great, great.
Mike:What's a health potion called?
Josh:yeah
Mike:Potions of healing?
Jorge:That's so stupid.
Josh:also
Mike:50 gold pieces.
Josh:before we
Mike:I can't afford one.
Josh:play I do want to mention that I
Josh:changed a lot
Josh:of the backing functionality of the
Josh:dice bot but for
Josh:your sake
Josh:the only real thing that you need to care
Tanner:ADV space.
Josh:care about that's different is it used to be if you wanted to do advantage it was ADV
Mike:Reverse Python.
Josh:open parentheses close parentheses now it's just ADV
Josh:uh sure actually let's let's see if I forget the space nope don't need the space
Josh:um
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:uh correct you just do
Tanner:I see.
Tanner:You don't even have to put the D20.
Tanner:Well, you should a DVD.
Josh:ADV and that's advantage
Josh:well it doesn't know what like
Mike:Did I break it?
Josh:yeah that's
Josh:poop isn't
Josh:yeah I think it just
Tanner:Oh, no, never mind.
Mike:I know.
Tanner:I guess the one in front is probably
Josh:it just didn't know how to parse that
Josh:so it just threw it out
Mike:I know, but it didn't throw it out the way that it threw it out with Jorge's.
Josh:Right because it didn think that you were even trying to invoke it Part of the reason why I needed to do this is specifically for this Which now it supports which is fun
Mike:Oh.
Mike:Oh.
Tanner:oh that's fun
Mike:Thank you Is that reroll ones
Josh:Yes it is.
Josh:Which is a good time.
Mike:I don't know if it works.
Josh:It's not gonna work
Josh:if you keep doing it like that.
Josh:I don't know what to tell you.
Jorge:Josh is using an LLM
Tanner:Just throwing random letters together.
Mike:I am the unit tests.
Josh:It's not... you're not unit testing anything.
Mike:Because I'm not hitting some regex spring.
Josh:None of this is making it to the actual evaluator.
Josh:It's not regex.
Josh:It's like a full LR lookahead parser.
Jorge:he's just asking an LLM
Josh:I'm not using an LLM.
Jorge:hey figure this out
Josh:It's not an LLM.
Jorge:That's crazy.
Josh:Oh, you got just d20! You did it, good job.
Tanner:All right.
Tanner:Are we prepared?
Jorge:We are prepared.
Tanner:Oh, I actually like what Mike did.
Tanner:Can you, Josh, can you make it so that something like what Mike sent works?
Josh:Yeah?
Josh:Um, I could.
Josh:I won't, but I could.
Jorge:You needed an L for that, Josh.
Josh:Yeah, I'm not hooking an LLM up to a fully deterministic dice pot.
Tanner:All right.
Mike:No.
Josh:There's no reason to do that.
Josh:I'm sorry.
Josh:Do you want me to make it so that AGVG means something for you, Mike?
Josh:So that you can type it and it would do things?
Josh:Oh.
Mike:Okay, I'm done.
Tanner:Let's do it.
Mike:
Tanner:Does anyone want to recap the last one shot I ran?
Tanner:No, I'm kidding.
Mike:I'll do it.
Jorge:We're behind schedule, guys.
Josh:I mean, if you want.
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:Shoot, if you really want to, you can, but...
Jorge:We're behind schedule.
Jorge:to do this.
Tanner:Oh, no, he's right. We're behind schedule.
Mike:I can't remember.
Tanner:All right.
Mike:Yeah.
Tanner:We're not going to do it.
Tanner:So we find ourselves in the city of Blade's Rest
Tanner:on the southern edge of a large, magically imbued jungle.
Tanner:Blade's Rest is a civilization of predominantly orts,
Tanner:couple Goliaths sprinkled in.
Jorge:I'm adopted.
Tanner:And these are
Tanner:orts that have
Tanner:split off from
Tanner:Grumsh. They are
Tanner:not as
Tanner:bound to conquest
Tanner:as some other orc
Tanner:are.
Tanner:That being said, they're still
Tanner:got their kind of latent aggression within
Tanner:and
Tanner:they synergize this with their environment by
Tanner:going big game hunting essentially
Tanner:in the jungle. It's lucrative, it's good to get out
Tanner:some energy, and
Tanner:it's a large part of the culture here in Blade's Rest.
Tanner:Hunting parties are trained
Tanner:as a unit throughout their teenage years
Tanner:and eventually
Tanner:as a sort of graduation
Tanner:they go on their first solo hunt
Tanner:bring back some kind of trophy
Tanner:and become a full-fledged hunting party.
Tanner:And so you guys are of course
Tanner:one of these junior hunting parties
Tanner:on the precipice of graduation.
Tanner:You been awaiting a day like today and we get into it So there a training ground right at the edge of the jungle
Tanner:There's all kinds of different things at the training ground.
Tanner:There's like a tree obstacle course, climbing course sort of thing.
Tanner:There's strike dummies.
Tanner:some of them are
Tanner:enchanted to be
Tanner:elementally resistant
Tanner:to help train spellcasters
Tanner:there's cubbies full of
Tanner:different arcane components to practice
Tanner:with, there's all kinds of
Tanner:wooden weapons to train
Tanner:with
Tanner:and it's the morning
Tanner:and the three of you are all
Tanner:you've all arrived
Tanner:kind of for the day's training
Tanner:but you're doing some of your own stuff here
Tanner:before the day really gets going
Tanner:before Master Killock,
Tanner:retired hunter and head of the training program,
Tanner:calls out to the three of you to gather to him.
Tanner:And you approach Master Killock.
Tanner:He's an older orc man, bald head with a big white beard.
Tanner:He's got one tusk that looks like it maybe broke off at one point.
Tanner:it's a little shorter than the other but then was like re-sharpened manually uh he's got this
Tanner:weathered set of leather armor adorned with all bits of various creatures he's uh killed throughout
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:his day um and uh yes he calls out to the three of you uh to come speak with him uh so if you
Tanner:would like you can say uh perhaps what your character was up to here in the early hours on
Tanner:the training ground and describe yourself as you approach Master Killock.
Jorge:I can go first You guys see A Someone who a lot taller than a lot of his other uh siblings and he uh not super green but kind of uh you can tell is like kind of putting some green like
Jorge:body paint on uh and this is niece niso um he has a large two large weapons on his back a
Jorge:halberd and a maw maw and um yeah so he did a little bit of training but to be honest with you
Jorge:his passion isn't big game hunting it's gardening he really wants to be a farmer and just like
Jorge:cultivate and garden uh but he has to become a uh a hunter just by tradition he got adopted into a
Jorge:a family that's really big into hunting so he has to do that that's him nisa when he walks over
Josh:I will go next.
Josh:So, having found, in what I assume is a relatively open space, a corner, or perhaps a makeshift lean-to or something underneath a tree,
Josh:trying very hard to look brooding and contemplative
Josh:is an orc, as almost everybody here is,
Josh:wearing, I guess, the equivalent of ye olde hot topic.
Josh:Like, black t-shirt equivalent.
Josh:He's got like too many darts hooked up in a fake bandolier that he's kind of rigged up on his chest.
Josh:He is wearing eyeliner in a flagrant misuse of the Warpaint available for the orts You would all recognize him as Tug but he has recently gone around and asked everybody to call him Doom Eater instead
Mike:you My character will be
Josh:And seeing that he's been called over will scoff a little bit
Josh:and then kind of sulk his way over in the direction of everybody else.
Mike:nose deep in a book.
Mike:crisscross applesauce uh and he will require a second call to wretch himself away from
Mike:a leather-bound book titled mushrooms and you and he will stumble up
Mike:and uh weighed down heavily by a backpack he will chuck over
Mike:and i have a picture
Tanner:Oh, that's excellent.
Mike:Oh, sorry.
Josh:So great.
Tanner:The three of you have trained together for years,
Tanner:and so everyone knows the name of your characters,
Tanner:except for us in this moment.
Mike:Might as Zul'Graph.
Tanner:Excellent.
Tanner:All right, as Olgrath finally makes his way over,
Tanner:um
Tanner:Astor
Tanner:uh
Tanner:Killock
Tanner:uh
Jorge:Good morning.
Tanner:greets all three of you
Tanner:alright good morning hunters
Tanner:I've got big news for you
Tanner:today's the day
Tanner:you're going on your first big hunt
Tanner:you've been training for a long time
Tanner:and uh
Tanner:myself and some of the other
Tanner:trainers
Tanner:agree that
Tanner:you're ready
Tanner:and it's time
Tanner:some of our scouts
Tanner:The other day have found evidence of a large insectoid creature known as a
Tanner:chool.
Tanner:storming around in some of the more
Josh:Are you sure that just a tool is going to be enough of a challenge for us?
Tanner:swamp lands in the northeast regions of the jungle.
Tanner:it's a big bug
Josh:I mean, it's basically a big bub, right?
Tanner:it's got big claws
Mike:How can we be sure this is a this is a tool tools have not been seen in the northeast
Tanner:it's got a toxin in its saliva
Tanner:that paralyzes those that come into contact with it
Tanner:yes go ahead Zolgrath what do you got
Tanner:We have taken samples
Mike:corner of the swamp for at least 10 years, according to the recent books that I've read
Mike:on the subject?
Mike:Are we entirely sure?
Mike:entirely sure. I mean, this may be something
Mike:that we want to write down and maybe
Mike:observe for some amount of time before we
Mike:kill it.
Tanner:of some of these toxins left behind
Tanner:on some kills that it has gotten.
Tanner:We're fairly certain it's a tool.
Tanner:We don't know why it's there.
Tanner:They don't, as you aptly pointed out,
Tanner:they don't just walk around.
Tanner:They're not really something that we come across often.
Tanner:So it is a bit odd, I will say,
Mike:Indeed.
Tanner:but we're fairly certain that that's what it is.
Jorge:niso is going to be holding his hand up but as he hears uh mike what's your character's name
Mike:Zulgrath?
Jorge:soul graph talk he's going to instead of raising his hand to the teacher
Mike:
Mike:Well my real concern is that this could be an invasive species I mean plants in the northeast area of the swamp have not been exposed to these for years We could be seeing some sort of destruction of biodiversity
Tanner:Thank you All right
Jorge:turn to soul graph and be like are these like uh cross pollinators like if this was to go
Jorge:out of the system is this going to hurt the vegetation in the area or uh is it fine
Jorge:you all week this thing gotta go i sold i ready i ready he gets some extra green
Jorge:paint and then puts like dashes under his eyes slightly darker than the rest he's like i'm ready
Jorge:i'm green face for this
Tanner:Well, he's ready.
Tanner:Tug, what do you think?
Mike:Doobie, have you considered the absolute clout you will get with a chewed toothed necklace?
Josh:Um, it's Doom Eater now.
Josh:And I don't want to go, but if you need somebody to look after them, I guess I can do it.
Tanner:Right.
Josh:From the shadows.
Josh:I don't need Clout.
Josh:I'm going, people only respect the blade and also the power of your fists. I don't
Tanner:Well, let's look at it this way.
Mike:it demonstrates the blade power
Josh:know what they would care about a necklace for.
Mike:I don't want to be
Josh:That's a good point, I'm in.
Tanner:You come back from this with
Tanner:one of the claws of this tool
Tanner:and some samples of saliva, and perhaps you will be Doom Eater.
Josh:I take, I take issue, uh, yeah, I take issue with you saying that I'm not already Doom
Tanner:How does that sound?
Tanner:very well
Mike:there's only one
Josh:Eater.
Josh:Um, I've already unsealed the seven seals on my chakra, and so I'm Doom Eater now.
Josh:But fine, I'll do it.
Josh:Just to prove you wrong.
Tanner:it seems we all agreed then I do have a minor boon to grant the three of you to aid you in this fight
Tanner:And he kind of pulls from a satchel these three simple leather strap necklaces with a carved wooden cylinder on the end.
Tanner:And he hands one to each of you.
Tanner:And he says, within each of these pieces of wood is a powder that, when inhaled, helps you resist the paralyzation of the chewel.
Tanner:So you can break it, inhale it, and it can actually be used in one of two ways.
Tanner:You can break it in anticipation of contact with the saliva, and it will give you resistance for a brief amount of time.
Tanner:or you can break it under the nose of someone who has already been paralyzed
Jorge:I'll give you immunity after you get it instantly cured.
Tanner:and it will instantly cure them of the paralyzation.
Tanner:So I have one for each of you to wear.
Tanner:No, it works in the moment and then wears off if you're currently paralyzed.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:How does it paralyze you?
Jorge:Does the saliva have to touch your blood?
Tanner:I believe it can just contact the skin.
Jorge:and then I'll turn again to Mike's character
Mike:Just.
Tanner:The creature will try to grab you
Tanner:and then kind of
Tanner:rub its tentacles on you.
Mike:Uh.
Jorge:is this like
Jorge:water soluble, oil soluble
Jorge:what if I just wrap myself up in lard
Jorge:am I immune to it
Tanner:We've not
Tanner:tested such a parameter
Jorge:You never larded up a boy and sent him out to fight one of these things He be slicking and sliding He try licking him and it might taste good but he won get anywhere
Mike:Thank you What about the greased hog contest
Tanner:we don't do that here
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:yes please
Tanner:The greased hog contest, which only takes place during our high holiday, they don't
Mike:Have you ever seen a greased hog successfully get poisoned?
Jorge:What if I cover myself in wax, like beeswax?
Mike:Oh, okay.
Tanner:really get exposed to poison.
Tanner:The last bit of information that I have for you is you'll know you're getting close once
Mike:You just see him writing.
Mike:No evidence.
Mike:It might work.
Tanner:you get to, of course, the swamplands, a couple hours travel to the northeast.
Jorge:Okay.
Mike:Very well.
Tanner:So you'll start to see some large gashes in some of the trees.
Tanner:And their saliva leaves behind a pinkish purplish discoloration in the bog water.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Sounds good.
Tanner:So if you see that, you know you're getting close.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Is it a nocturnal creature?
Tanner:I don't know.
Jorge:Okay.
Mike:This will go great with my other vials and stoppers.
Josh:useless
Tanner:a claw and some saliva.
Josh:I'll take that for you
Jorge:So what do we need to bring back again?
Jorge:A cloth.
Tanner:And he actually, at that,
Tanner:pulls out a couple small empty files with stoppers
Tanner:and hands them to Zolgrath.
Tanner:Perfect.
Jorge:Alright.
Tanner:All right, hunters. Well, this could be your big day.
Mike:Well.
Josh:Hi.
Tanner:You've trained a long time for this, so I wish you luck.
Tanner:And we hope to see you back with some trophies.
Tanner:amazing
Jorge:Sounds good, that's good.
Jorge:Let's let's go Zulgrass and Doom Eater.
Tanner:and you guys head off into the jungle
Tanner:in search of a chule
Tanner:you break away from the city
Tanner:parts of the jungle are
Tanner:often traveled by
Tanner:the hunting parties
Tanner:here. So there's a couple
Tanner:pretty
Tanner:constant
Tanner:existing paths
Tanner:beating down dirt and foliage
Tanner:that you're able to follow
Tanner:for a decent amount
Tanner:of time as you head
Tanner:northeast towards the swamps.
Tanner:But they do become
Tanner:less reliable over time.
Tanner:And you leave
Tanner:the city far behind. You're
Tanner:surrounded by the sounds of
Tanner:insects, creatures moving around
Tanner:in the canopy above.
Tanner:And I'll have somebody
Jorge:How'd you get a survival?
Mike:A plus zero.
Josh:I'm middling at survival.
Tanner:make a survival check
Tanner:to avoid hazards
Tanner:and continue onwards towards the swamps.
Jorge:I got plus two.
Josh:Okay, I'm better than you are.
Josh:I going to do a survival check
Jorge:All right
Tanner:Two meter 2 meter please do
Tanner:15
Josh:Uh, 15.
Josh:Which is good!
Tanner:actually yes that is good
Josh:15 is good in this rule set.
Josh:It's not abysmal.
Tanner:so you are
Tanner:traveling through the jungle following what
Tanner:remains of some uh perhaps less trodden paths but you can see there's a little bit of areas where
Tanner:some foliage has maybe been cut and things like that and um you are uh about to continue heading
Tanner:down one of these paths um but you hear somewhat ahead of you uh a much louder uh buzzing of insects
Tanner:than the kind of base level of bugs here in the jungle.
Tanner:And you note that,
Tanner:and you also note that
Tanner:if you perhaps didn't want to go that way,
Tanner:you could, there's almost a more direct path
Tanner:that you think you could take towards the swamp,
Tanner:but you'd have to kind of cut through some foliage
Tanner:and not have necessarily as perfectly clear of a path ahead.
Jorge:Always ready for a fight.
Mike:And the other way?
Josh:I'll turn back and say
Tanner:But you think you might avoid whatever this noise is up ahead.
Josh:are you ready for a fight?
Josh:there's things to fight if we go that way
Josh:and you two can fight that while I watch you
Josh:you know just
Josh:just in the direction of where the things are to fight
Mike:But what's the other way?
Josh:I don't know
Josh:like a different path
Josh:that would get us there eventually maybe
Josh:I don know I don know
Mike:but not things to fight I don know I don
Mike:it is quicker
Josh:There's one path that gives where we're trying to go,
Josh:and you just have to, like, fight a thing or things.
Josh:Maybe.
Josh:But there's another way that maybe goes where we're trying to go,
Josh:maybe doesn't, and then maybe doesn't have a thing that you have to fight.
Josh:I don't understand how this isn't extremely clear to you.
Jorge:Let's go fight.
Josh:It's more direct.
Mike:if we fight the thing
Jorge:Yeah, Squigger.
Josh:I'm just gonna make you guys fight, you're my lackeys, so it doesn't really affect me.
Mike:who wants to
Mike:fight stuff immediately
Mike:would you be okay taking the easy way then given
Mike:if you're navigating you're gonna have a rougher time the other way
Mike:but we're we're tied you're the time break
Josh:Yeah, I think that's probably something the party should decide. I don't feel qualified.
Mike:I don't want to
Josh:Oh.
Mike:it's I mean
Josh:Oh, you don't want to fight the things?
Mike:you know
Josh:I kind of want to fight the things. It seems easier. I don't have to navigate as much if we do that.
Mike:backpacks really heavy
Mike:it's been
Mike:it's a long day
Mike:okay
Josh:we could try and be sneaky
Mike:sneak up on him
Josh:I'm pretty sneaky
Tanner:You did mention being in the shadows.
Josh:I could like be sneaky
Josh:and like
Josh:sneak up on the things
Josh:yeah
Josh:I could sneak
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:am I actually good at sneaking
Mike:We should sneak that.
Josh:I'm
Josh:really good at sneaking
Josh:and by really good I mean fine
Josh:yeah if I were in the shadows
Josh:if it were like nighttime right now i would be the most sneaky person ever so we could wait till nighttime and then i could sneak or we could not wait till nighttime and then I could still sneak but maybe we have to
Jorge:Thank you Now let just go
Tanner:uh Ah
Mike:you yeah what if we yeah but you
Josh:fight somebody.
Josh:I
Josh:Yeah, I could sneak up on him now.
Mike:could sneak you could sneak up on him now
Mike:okay
Josh:Maybe I'll sneak up on him. You never know.
Josh:I could be sneaky.
Josh:I'll sneak. I'll sneak.
Josh:DM, I'll sneak.
Tanner:Okay, make a stealth check.
Josh:I was hoping you wouldn't ask me to do that.
Tanner:That's what you do to sneak.
Josh:It's great so long as I don't actually have to roll something that's random.
Josh:I got a 17.
Tanner:17 is pretty good.
Tanner:You start to take the more established path ahead
Tanner:towards the sound of this buzzing.
Tanner:And you kind of turn a corner.
Tanner:I'll say maybe 50 feet ahead from where you guys were having your discussion.
Tanner:And you see, I guess maybe another 30 or so feet ahead of you,
Tanner:there seems to be some kind of corpse of a creature on the ground.
Tanner:um and
Tanner:uh just an
Tanner:absolute horde of
Tanner:these oversized flies
Tanner:with uh big like
Josh:How many...
Tanner:uh
Tanner:sort of jagged
Tanner:uh what are they called
Tanner:proboscis um
Tanner:uh just absolutely
Tanner:chewing on the flesh
Tanner:of this uh dead creature
Tanner:in the path
Tanner:uh and
Tanner:uh
Tanner:Just like a dense cloud of big bug.
Josh:Like, a swarm of Big Bug, or like eight Big Bug, if I can ask that, if that's not
Jorge:Am I there?
Tanner:It's like a swarm.
Josh:Not too metagaming.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I'm just trying to figure out how hard it would be to punch it.
Josh:You know?
Tanner:I believe that
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:Dew Meter has
Tanner:stealthed ahead
Tanner:to get a
Josh:Yeah, I will stealth back to let them know that they're a bunch of bugs.
Jorge:Pull out my halberd and go.
Josh:we could punch a bug
Jorge:Here we go comrades.
Jorge:Are these invasive species?
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:I'm ready.
Josh:yeah I think
Josh:I think so
Josh:oh
Jorge:I hate invasive species.
Jorge:They make me really angry.
Mike:Yeah, these are very...
Jorge:They fill me up with a rage, and I rage, and then I run it.
Tanner:Incredible.
Tanner:Perhaps we'll roll initiative then.
Josh:Seems like a good time.
Jorge:Yeah, yeah.
Tanner:I should do that myself.
Jorge:I gain dangerous
Tanner:Yeah, barbarians do be getting that.
Mike:Oh,
Jorge:slump.
Jorge:It's so funny.
Jorge:Probably just hand out advantage in D&D.
Josh:Do you have advantage on your initiative roll?
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Nice.
Jorge:Why does this not work?
Josh:I get to heal.
Josh:What does whatnot work?
Jorge:ADV plus D20.
Josh:Oh, because it's just ADV plus 20.
Jorge:Oh, there's no ADV for non-D20s.
Josh:I mean, plus 2.
Josh:No, there is.
Josh:If you want to do advantage on something other than a d20,
Josh:you just use the postfix, kh,
Josh:and then the number of keep highest that you want, or keep lowest.
Josh:ADV is actually a macro in the language
Jorge:I see.
Josh:that is just 2d20 keep highest 1.
Jorge:So I got a crit and it so sad seeing 22 for a crit
Josh:It happens I mean that a very good score
Jorge:What's also funny is I feel like
Jorge:Josh also likes, for a lot of our
Jorge:checks in Pathfinder, above our level.
Jorge:So even our own level checks don't
Jorge:even need anything to boost. Like, oh, it's a
Jorge:24!
Josh:That's not true.
Josh:The average tech difficulty is your on-level DC.
Jorge:The fun stuff that we want.
Tanner:All right, just a moment.
Mike:You're a monk.
Josh:It's just when you ask...
Josh:Yeah, you just remember the dumb stuff that is a higher level.
Jorge:We want the fun stuff.
Josh:I have a better modifier than both of you.
Josh:How did that happen?
Josh:And I'm last.
Josh:I want...
Mike:Oh, bad luck.
Josh:Yo, yeah, no, I understand.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:I'm going to send a shmepi.
Mike:Didn't someone get fired for that?
Josh:It makes sense that I have a higher modifier.
Josh:I just mean you're both going before me anyway.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Oh, you would.
Josh:You would send a shmepy.
Mike:...
Mike:...
Josh:What?
Josh:What?
Jorge:Yeah, buddy.
Tanner:Okay, what do we got going on here?
Mike:...
Mike:...
Tanner:22, 21, and 19.
Josh:Ooh.
Tanner:Holy crap!
Josh:I like this background.
Tanner:Yeah, I like that...
Mike:So I'll go out this with a U.
Josh:That's how you spell Nisu?
Josh:Sorry, I apologize.
Tanner:That...
Tanner:So I can confirm that's how you spell Niso.
Tanner:I cannot confirm that this is how you spell Zul'Grath.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:Wait, wait, wait.
Mike:This remembers the last name that you typed in.
Mike:What kind of cookies do I have?
Josh:Yep that you Nah
Mike:because mine says four users connected
Mike:and I get to edit Douglas Donald Hugh it douglas donald hugh here we go
Tanner:Wait okay I need to actually write these initiatives down
Tanner:So that 22 was Niso.
Tanner:And then the 21 is Zul'Grath with a U.
Josh:Don't do that, Michael.
Mike:what
Mike:what
Jorge:Yes, I'm going to move there with my movement action.
Josh:Just because it rhymes doesn't mean you should feel good writing it down.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:So.
Tanner:Niso you kind of charge ahead
Tanner:and rage
Tanner:and are angry about invasive species
Tanner:and
Tanner:it's your turn yeah you can act
Tanner:right
Jorge:that's its own thing here.
Josh:When you make an attack with strength and deal damage,
Tanner:so
Jorge:Then I'm going to...
Jorge:When I'm raging, I can add
Jorge:my strength modifier to this, right?
Tanner:to what...
Jorge:That sounds right.
Jorge:Just damage rolls.
Tanner:You get...
Tanner:There's a rage damage bonus
Tanner:that is probably plus two at this level.
Tanner:I forget.
Jorge:Uh...
Josh:you gain a bonus to the damage that increases
Josh:at your level
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:it is plus two
Josh:no
Jorge:Yeah, that makes more sense.
Jorge:So I'm going to roll a Swarm 2
Jorge:with my
Tanner:Yes.
Jorge:Helmet.
Tanner:No.
Jorge:Does it increase my 2-hit?
Tanner:But you can Reckless Attack.
Jorge:Okay.
Josh:yeah
Jorge:I'm not going to do that with that many things there.
Josh:what kind, what flavor of
Jorge:Thank you very much for trying to get me killed.
Tanner:Sorry.
Jorge:Alright.
Josh:barbarian are you?
Josh:Oh this is a secret Oh you a zealot of course
Jorge:Zealot.
Jorge:Yeah yeah So does a 15 hit OK OK So I can also with the zealot do an extra d6 I believe
Tanner:Indeed it does
Jorge:Okay, okay. Great, great, great. It's going to do radiant.
Tanner:Yeah, that sounds somewhat correct.
Josh:The first creature you hit with a weapon or unarmed strike
Tanner:...
Tanner:...
Josh:takes equal damage equal to 1d6 plus half your barbarian level.
Josh:Round down.
Josh:Of necrotic or radiant damage, your choice.
Jorge:So it's going to do...
Jorge:Sorry, so my D&D Beyond character broke
Jorge:because I tried to change it to an orc,
Jorge:but there's no saving feature,
Jorge:so then it just broke everything.
Jorge:It's like, oh, now you have to redo everything.
Jorge:And I was like, I didn't want that.
Jorge:So now I just have to go off a player sheet,
Jorge:like a plebeian.
Jorge:So that's 1d10 slash chamber.
Jorge:1d6 slash chamber.
Jorge:Half my level, which is 2.
Jorge:That's 2.
Jorge:19 points of slashing damage.
Tanner:19 points.
Mike:Oh, yeah.
Tanner:You cut through this swarm of flesh-eating flies
Tanner:and attacking a number of small creatures
Tanner:with a weapon such as that is not incredibly effective,
Tanner:but it does do a good bit of damage.
Jorge:That's sad. That's sad.
Jorge:And then my, even with Radiant?
Tanner:Oh, that's a great point.
Tanner:The radiant does not get halved.
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:That's a really great point.
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:The Radiant was
Jorge:the five.
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:
Tanner:
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:And then,
Jorge:when I do this,
Jorge:once per turn, if you hit a creature
Jorge:with a melee attack using your Halberd,
Jorge:you can make another melee attack
Jorge:against a second creature within
Jorge:your weapon's reach.
Jorge:So I'll do that.
Tanner:Ah.
Jorge:And then I'll attack five and then I will do a 20.
Tanner:That's the weapon
Jorge:Yeah, she, she, she, she.
Tanner:specialization, I presume, yes?
Tanner:So you're going
Tanner:against Swarm 1. Did you make a new roll?
Tanner:Is that how that works?
Jorge:Yeah, just a 21.
Tanner:21 hits.
Jorge:Okay, and then now I don't get to add my
Jorge:unhit the second creature's damage, but without your ability modifier.
Jorge:Unless it's negative.
Tanner:So it'll just be, what, the D10 of the
Tanner:Halberd? And I guess
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:maybe the Rage damage?
Tanner:I'll give you the plus 2 from the rage.
Jorge:I would like that.
Jorge:yeah
Mike:Yes.
Tanner:I feel like that's a separate thing.
Jorge:so four
Jorge:and then a bonus action
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:I don't really have any
Jorge:so I'm just going to
Jorge:do nothing
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:That's excellent.
Tanner:That brings it to Zul'Grath.
Tanner:Yeah, absolutely.
Mike:I would like to use a firebolt on swarm to
Mike:I have to roll to attack
Mike:which is
Mike:six
Mike:there's an 11 hit
Tanner:The Swarms have very low AC, and 11 does hit.
Mike:Oh, perfect.
Jorge:Thank you you Leo
Tanner:That's great.
Tanner:Yeah, 11 is their armor class.
Mike:Eight points of damage.
Tanner:Nice.
Tanner:That was against who now?
Mike:Form two.
Tanner:Swarm 2.
Tanner:That is enough.
Tanner:Swarm 2, which had been heavily diminished by Niso's strike,
Tanner:the remaining couple of flies your firebolt just passes straight through and leaves just little bits of ash that fall to the ground eliminating swarm 2
Mike:you Perfect And then I would like to move here What my movement Wait where the hell my move
Tanner:Amazing.
Tanner:Amazing.
Mike:30.
Tanner:If that is everything, that brings it to Doom Eater.
Mike:Yes.
Josh:Absolutely.
Josh:One second.
Josh:How far can I actually move?
Josh:Okay.
Josh:I'm gonna...
Josh:This is 60 feet.
Tanner:Is that a focus point in this edition?
Josh:So I'm going to use my movement and then also my bonus action to give myself a dash.
Josh:And then I will run up here.
Josh:Not in 2024, no.
Tanner:Oh, you can just bonus action dash.
Josh:So I have step of the wind, which means I can bonus action dash.
Josh:but if I want I can spend a focus point
Tanner:Ah, interesting.
Josh:to make it so that it also is a disengage
Josh:and doubles my jump distance
Josh:but standard without paying the focus point
Josh:it is just a normal dash action as a bonus
Tanner:Pretty cool.
Jorge:What was the point of 2024 rule set?
Josh:similarly patient defense is just disengage as a bonus action
Josh:but then I can spend a focus point
Josh:to also have it dodge
Josh:in the same bonus action
Tanner:Right.
Josh:It changed some stuff.
Tanner:Yeah.
Jorge:Yeah, but like, why?
Tanner:Because
Josh:Balance.
Tanner:key point was racist.
Tanner:It's a focus point now.
Josh:Anyway,
Tanner:And so they had to change the whole game.
Josh:I cast darkness on myself
Tanner:Uh alright Uh sure Uh All right Sure
Tanner:That's great.
Tanner:What is the area of darkness?
Josh:It's a 15-foot radius sphere centered on me at all times.
Tanner:Fascinating.
Tanner:maybe we'll use fog of War
Josh:Sure.
Tanner:or something
Tanner:that's going to be stupid
Tanner:maybe we'll just keep that in mind in our heads
Tanner:I'm pretty sure that gets everything into the darkness
Josh:Sure.
Tanner:all the swarms are enveloped with you
Tanner:with swarm 1 being kind of on the edge
Tanner:I'll allow that, that's fine
Josh:Yeah, I assumed that I was in kind of a position where they can still see Swarm 1 sticking out of the darkness.
Josh:but if
Tanner:yeah
Tanner:okay
Josh:good
Tanner:I guess that's your action, right?
Josh:that is my action yes
Tanner:okay, so you envelop
Tanner:the swarms and yourself in darkness
Tanner:and you brood
Tanner:I presume.
Josh:hmm
Josh:yeah
Tanner:The swarm of insects are going to go next.
Josh:That's so unfortunate. Do they really? That's crazy.
Tanner:I'm truly sorry to inform you that they do have blindsight.
Tanner:They do, which I didn't know, but I figured I would check.
Josh:Oh well.
Tanner:The swarm of insects stat block does have blindsight.
Tanner:Now, are you harried by this darkness?
Josh:No.
Tanner:Okay, so they are not going to have advantage on you, but they're not going to have disadvantage either.
Josh:Uh yeah Can I ask a dumb rules as intended rules as written question
Tanner:Alright so swarm 3 and 4 are both going to make a bite attack as they surround you
Tanner:in the darkness.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Sure.
Josh:the blinded condition
Josh:means that
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Tanner:You can see anything that isn't behind total cover even if you have the blinded condition
Josh:if you're blinded you have attack
Josh:attack rolls against you have advantage
Josh:and attack rolls that you make have disadvantage
Josh:blindsight I believe
Josh:doesn't actually say that you're immune
Josh:to the blinded condition
Josh:it just says that you can still see things within a radius
Josh:despite being
Josh:blinded
Josh:If you just want to say, like, clearly that shouldn't apply because they can see things
Tanner:or are in darkness.
Mike:Well, it's blind sight.
Tanner:Joe.
Josh:in the darkness, then that's fine.
Tanner:Yeah, my feeling is that it's supposed to counteract blindness.
Josh:It's strange that it doesn't specify that.
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:But that's fine. Bring it on.
Mike:They should be blind all the time.
Tanner:I think I'm just going to make attack rolls.
Mike:and have disadvantage.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:That's fine. I dodge.
Tanner:I got a 15 to hit.
Josh:I can't actually dodge.
Josh:Miss! Miss!
Tanner:And a 12 to hit.
Josh:Uh, that also similarly misses.
Tanner:Okay, so it doesn't even matter.
Tanner:Swarm 1.
Tanner:Oh no, that's not what I wanted.
Tanner:Is going to move over here.
Tanner:And make an attack at Niso.
Tanner:that is a nine to hit
Jorge:Ah, does Nung get ahead.
Tanner:pretty bad from
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:Pretty bad showing from the swarms.
Josh:Sorry, I am going to interject and just end my darkness because it's useless.
Tanner:That brings it back to you, Niso.
Tanner:Oh, yeah, sure. Sorry about that.
Josh:I'll just drop concentration on it.
Jorge:That's embarrassing.
Josh:It really is.
Josh:It really is.
Jorge:New meter.
Jorge:All right, I strike.
Jorge:21.
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:Yeah, of course.
Jorge:Oh, sorry, that's 20.
Tanner:That's alright.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:I added a wrong thing. I was looking at a wrong stat.
Jorge:But I assume it still hits.
Tanner:We've established their armor class is 11.
Tanner:And we don't have plus 10 crits in this
Tanner:tabletop roleplaying game.
Jorge:Alright!
Jorge:18!
Jorge:Points of damage.
Jorge:And, uh...
Tanner:One of which is radiant, it appears.
Jorge:Yes.
Jorge:Well, no, three of which is radiant, because that first plus two is radiant stuff.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Oh, that applies to the radiant.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:So then we're going to half the 15
Tanner:is 7.
Jorge:Oh, I forgot I have free movement actions.
Jorge:I should have moved first.
Jorge:That's all right.
Jorge:I didn't do that.
Tanner:And then
Jorge:and I'll move here because I'm staying within their range
Tanner:another 3
Tanner:is 10.
Jorge:so that doesn't trigger opportunity attracts in D&D
Tanner:Correct.
Mike:I'm not touching you
Jorge:if I go around them
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:Correct.
Mike:I'm not touching you
Jorge:no I should have done that first so I could have used
Tanner:Would you like to do anything else?
Jorge:my cleave on the other thing but I didn't
Jorge:because I'm an idiot so I'm going to stay here
Tanner:I mean, we can allow that.
Jorge:no i made an idiot move and I deserved and I get it
Tanner:It was a brief
Tanner:lapse of Okay then we move on to Zul
Mike:Don grab Uh wait Wait which one of these storms is most
Tanner:Swarm 1
Tanner:has been
Tanner:sliced a decent bit now.
Mike:I'd like to kill.
Tanner:Yep.
Tanner:3 and 4 are untouched.
Mike:Is it a 23 hit?
Tanner:Indeed.
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:that'll do it again
Mike:Eight.
Mike:Points of damage again.
Mike:Nice.
Tanner:you once again
Tanner:clean up
Tanner:the rest of Niso's work
Tanner:and
Tanner:burn away the rest of those
Tanner:flies
Tanner:and that
Jorge:When you guys are eating something like a carrot,
Tanner:Yeah, sure.
Mike:Whose turn is it?
Jorge:have you ever wished you could kind of morph
Jorge:just your face into that of a rabbit
Jorge:so you can go,
Jorge:and then unmorph it after?
Jorge:Or was that just me?
Tanner:I've never considered being a rabbit.
Jorge:No, no, just for eating the carrot.
Jorge:Okay, okay, I'm sorry.
Mike:A little bit.
Tanner:I'm going to let Doom Eater go with that, I believe.
Tanner:indeed
Mike:Giant slide.
Josh:Thank you. I'm gonna punch. I'm gonna punch swarm three. Hopefully.
Tanner:yeah that hits
Josh:That going to be 7 points of force damage My fists are force damage Haha
Tanner:of force damage That is fun They do not resist that
Tanner:You swing your fist
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:and connect with
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:half a dozen flies in this swarm
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:in your one swing,
Tanner:and they all explode in guts.
Tanner:The swarm is reduced,
Tanner:but still standing.
Josh:Okay, well then I'm gonna spend a focus point to do that two more times with flurry of blows.
Tanner:Flying.
Tanner:Sure.
Tanner:Sure.
Josh:21.
Josh:for another 7 points of force damage.
Tanner:Yeah, of course.
Tanner:Still up.
Josh:And then again,
Tanner:that'll do it
Josh:23
Josh:for another
Mike:that's the funniest interpretation of what happened
Josh:10 points of force damage.
Tanner:you come in with a flurry of blows
Tanner:and
Tanner:are just punching and punching
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:and squishing bug squishing bug
Tanner:squishing bug
Tanner:until there are none left
Tanner:in that swarm
Mike:is that a punching he's just
Mike:grabbing
Tanner:amazing
Mike:all of your hands
Jorge:He's doing that kung fu movie thing with chopsticks.
Mike:with like
Jorge:He's like, grab, grab, grab, grab, grab.
Mike:like
Mike:like
Mike:just the
Mike:fucking
Mike:flies
Mike:right
Mike:loop
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:that's your turn
Tanner:the final swarm is going to try to bite you
Josh:That's fair.
Tanner:they have a plus 3 attack bonus
Tanner:which brings my 6 to a 9 okay Niso why don you go Yeah
Jorge:Yeah you know the drill
Josh:No I sorry No
Jorge:G, B, C.
Jorge:I did too.
Jorge:I really feel like you should be critic.
Jorge:But that's not a thing in this game.
Tanner:Yeah, we don't do that.
Jorge:We don't do that here.
Jorge:Push, push.
Jorge:6 plus D6 plus 2 plus 2.
Tanner:23, that's pretty good.
Jorge:23!
Jorge:And 7 of that's radiant.
Tanner:Yes.
Tanner:Yes.
Jorge:And then, uh...
Tanner:Man.
Tanner:yeah that's my bad
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:If I was level 5, I would have had 2 attacks, but I don't.
Jorge:So I have 1.
Jorge:We did a little six last time with strong.
Mike:Progress.
Tanner:maybe next one shot will be level 5
Mike:Mm-hmm.
Mike:Okay.
Tanner:we did level 3 last time, level 4 today
Mike:So, I'm going to go ahead and start the recording.
Tanner:you know, working our way up
Tanner:I did a one shot that
Tanner:oh maybe you didn't play in
Tanner:I think you were away
Tanner:for my
Tanner:the Fae
Tanner:one shot.
Jorge:I see.
Mike:mm-hmm
Jorge:I see.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Zulgrath, it's your turn.
Jorge:What are the ads?
Tanner:Let's see if we can keep the trend
Tanner:of burning
Tanner:away remnants.
Mike:i know that hits i hope it still does
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:16 damage
Tanner:A crit! Look at that! That of course will do it. These bugs were no match for a party of trained orts
Mike:fireball fireball fireball
Mike:fireball
Jorge:and I smacked him with my reach
Tanner:and Goliath.
Mike:Of course, of course.
Tanner:You guys are
Tanner:skilled hunters
Tanner:and it shows.
Tanner:The last handful
Tanner:of bugs in the area
Tanner:fly away in fear
Tanner:at your prowess.
Jorge:10 foot reach
Tanner:Indeed,
Tanner:you take another one or two
Tanner:as they literally
Tanner:scattered to the winds.
Jorge:yeah i treat them like they're spotted lantern flies and i go for them
Mike:yeah yeah yeah
Josh:Did they have any loot?
Jorge:all right all right now
Jorge:we're next
Tanner:Amazingly successful.
Tanner:You look around at the
Tanner:bug guts and
Tanner:ash
Tanner:in your vicinity and
Tanner:it doesn't really seem to be very lucrative.
Jorge:How do they taste?
Josh:I loot the bug guts and ash as a trophy of our conquest.
Tanner:Very well.
Tanner:Perfect.
Tanner:Great.
Josh:I do not eat the bug guts and ash.
Josh:Do you eat the bug guts and ash?
Jorge:I'd take a bite.
Tanner:You take a bite of some bug guts
Tanner:and it does sting your mouth a bit.
Jorge:I dip my
Mike:Zulgrath will take a single finger take a small dab Yeah No they low in protein That why they wanted this carcass
Josh:Quick, take the anti-paralysis powder.
Tanner:You feel like they maybe have some poison within them.
Tanner:It's not enough in this state to really hurt you in a meaningful way,
Tanner:but it is a little uncomfortable.
Jorge:I dip my
Jorge:Albert and Ma in the guts
Jorge:and I cover it
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Tanner:Thank you I will say
Jorge:Thank you How do you think I keep these delts
Mike:Or sorry, they were low in protein.
Mike:That's why they were all about this carcass.
Mike:Of course.
Jorge:I need a lot of protein.
Mike:Well, how about the carcass?
Tanner:uh
Tanner:sorry geez
Tanner:Zolgrath
Tanner:you have notes about these flies in your field journal
Jorge:Are they pollinators?
Mike:Well, also,
Tanner:these are flesh flies
Tanner:they are not an invasive species
Tanner:they just exist in the jungle
Tanner:say that again
Jorge:Are they pollinators?
Tanner:probably not
Jorge:Okay, okay.
Jorge:I still cover my weapons in guts.
Mike:Zulgrath
Mike:would not have mentioned that these
Jorge:In case that gives me a poison bonus.
Mike:that these were not invasive.
Tanner:All right.
Jorge:Oh, so Graff would have told me?
Jorge:Yeah, okay.
Mike:Zulgrath's
Mike:aversion to
Mike:the violent ways
Mike:of his tribe is enough
Mike:for him to be like,
Mike:nah, they were bad. You guys had to kill them.
Jorge:Alright, alright, alright.
Jorge:Now let's go find this big bug.
Mike:Of course.
Tanner:With that, you continue your trek into the jungle.
Tanner:Oh, I need to check something.
Tanner:Probably it's that.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:um okay so you are carrying on uh the terrain is kind of still remaining the same uh you know
Tanner:still a high canopy a lot of vegetation um uh doom eater uh as you guys are kind of traveling you start to notice another noise
Tanner:above the kind of base din of the jungle.
Tanner:There's kind of a constant rustling in the branches above.
Tanner:But you start to notice that there's a particular kind of almost rhythmic sound in the branches that makes you feel like something has been going branch to branch and perhaps pursuing you.
Josh:I put up my hand, do a series of very complex signals that we did not agree upon before
Josh:and as such they mean nothing to them.
Jorge:Oh, you have to go...
Tanner:You guys see Doom Eater make several hand symbols
Mike:dog breath will get 50 a message that we shouldn't be talking and he'll like
Josh:And I wait for them to respond to me,
Josh:having communicated that something's
Josh:following this in the trees.
Tanner:You're not sure what they mean
Jorge:You have to go take a shit?
Jorge:You want to go shit in a tree?
Mike:start doing the chicken dance.
Josh:And then I will seeing that these ignoramuses obviously haven't figured out my top secret code and both proud because that's the point of the top secret code and also frustrated.
Jorge:All right, here we go.
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:And
Josh:And so I will go back and I will inform them what each of the little hand motions I did meant.
Mike:do we want to take care of this Yeah why not
Josh:Are we...
Josh:I take out two darts I have them at the ready If I see anything move I just gonna chuck a dart at it
Jorge:I put my I grabbed from my back
Tanner:as your kind of as you are stopped here for a moment
Jorge:my heavy crossbow
Jorge:I bolted up
Jorge:and then we just shoot
Tanner:discussing and strategizing
Tanner:you do start to see
Tanner:a medium-sized
Tanner:bit of movement
Jorge:Does this look like it's a quick movement, like it's jumping out of this, or is it just
Mike:perception.
Josh:All right.
Tanner:coming down one of the nearby
Tanner:trees
Tanner:towards you.
Tanner:Someone can make a
Tanner:perception check.
Tanner:I think that would be cool.
Jorge:kind of like...
Jorge:Oh, yeah.
Tanner:We'll see how this
Tanner:perception check goes.
Tanner:Let's see.
Jorge:Do it.
Josh:Who's making it?
Mike:Oh, actually, I don't know if I should be making this.
Josh:I'm pretty good at perceiving.
Tanner:15.
Josh:I'm pretty good at it, assuming I roll well.
Mike:Oh, yeah, it was zero.
Josh:I have a good modifier.
Mike:Don't worry.
Josh:15.
Tanner:Ian, so you see descending actually relatively calmly,
Jorge:I put away my bow.
Tanner:kind of going dropping down branch to branch,
Josh:It doesn't seem immediately aggressive, so I shouldn't be throwing my two darts at it
Tanner:is a chimpanzee.
Tanner:And it kind of is kind of looking at the lot of you
Tanner:as it gets lower and lower towards the jungle floor.
Tanner:and
Tanner:you don't see aggression in it
Josh:as soon as I see it.
Tanner:and as it gets
Tanner:lower it's kind of on like one of the last branches above the ground
Tanner:maybe 15 feet or so
Jorge:Can I hand it a mango for my supplies?
Tanner:in the air, you see that it is quite emaciated.
Tanner:Yeah, go ahead.
Tanner:You reach into your supplies and hold Mango out in your hand,
Tanner:and the chimpanzee descends the rest of the way to the ground,
Tanner:kind of approaches you slowly,
Tanner:reaches one arm out
Tanner:and grabs the mango
Jorge:Excellent.
Tanner:and kind of sniffs it for a second
Tanner:takes a bite
Tanner:kind of ponders
Tanner:and then starts absolutely devouring
Tanner:the mango
Tanner:and it kind of looks
Tanner:at the three of you, kind of waves its arms
Tanner:jumps a little bit
Tanner:looks kind of happy
Tanner:and then
Tanner:it climbs back up into the tree
Tanner:and you hear it kind of
Jorge:I look at Doom Eater and go, what a terrible person, man.
Mike:I don't think we need that.
Josh:And now I throw my darts?
Tanner:start to swing away
Tanner:through the branches.
Tanner:That's your prerogative.
Tanner:I don't choose.
Josh:But...
Josh:You took your mango.
Jorge:I gave him a mango.
Jorge:Why are you so stingy?
Josh:No!
Jorge:You didn't have a mango to give him?
Jorge:I gave all of us mangoes for the trip.
Tanner:Doometer prefers plums.
Josh:I don't have any mangoes!
Jorge:We all got a mango for the trip.
Jorge:I grew them myself.
Jorge:You throw out a perfectly good mango?
Mike:you understood the mango and uh so i'll graph will flip and it goes they usually prefer oranges
Josh:Yeah, I didn't want the mango because mangoes are too brightly colored and it would give me away.
Jorge:That's messed up.
Josh:And also they're for girls.
Josh:Keeps you regular.
Mike:actually the longest sentence whatever whatever did with sign language was me give me give me eat orange eat orange me give me orange me eat orange give me
Tanner:Thank you Uh
Jorge:Thank you let go
Josh:Thank you I believe it
Tanner:All right.
Tanner:At that, you...
Jorge:wait Tanner Tanner
Jorge:are chimpanzees
Tanner:Oh, yeah, go ahead.
Tanner:I'll let
Jorge:invasive species here
Josh:If you say yes, I'm throwing darts at this guy.
Tanner:Zolgrath do it at advantage
Tanner:because of his field journal
Josh:Just putting that out there.
Tanner:Are we making a nature check or are we going to forego?
Jorge:I thought Zorgraph was doing it.
Mike:oh wait yeah like the nation's trip oh
Josh:I thought Trish was making a nature check.
Josh:Oh, Zul'Greth is doing it.
Tanner:You can do it at advantage with your fields journal.
Mike:holy shit I was a way this is the determine if we're killing the monkey oh my god
Mike:22.
Tanner:It is most certainly not an invasive species. They do live throughout the jungle. You are,
Josh:It's just to figure out if it's an invasive species.
Jorge:that bug's eating everything and disrupting the biodiversity
Josh:Or it just doesn't like mangoes.
Tanner:with that role, a bit surprised to see it so emaciated. The jungle is quite lush, so
Jorge:Let's see.
Mike:Must be the invasive Chewle that eating all of the mangoes
Josh:All right, it was doing that to be nice.
Jorge:No, I love to make it.
Jorge:What are you talking about?
Jorge:Anyway, let's go.
Tanner:You continue your trek?
Josh:So be careful.
Jorge:Yeah let go
Jorge:That's a big cat, Josh.
Tanner:Yeah, they used to be little.
Tanner:Do you guys remember when they were little?
Mike:I remember they were little.
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:Owl.
Mike:Now they're huge.
Jorge:it's amazing
Tanner:I'm trying to get my cat to be less little.
Mike:Did they combine into one?
Mike:Is that why it's so big?
Tanner:yeah look at how docile it looks
Josh:No. No, they're both this size. They're both this size. He's a big guy now.
Mike:There's a second one still?
Mike:Oh, wow.
Mike:Do you live in fear?
Josh:Sorry. No, they're cute.
Mike:Oh.
Mike:I feel like they would plot against me if there were two.
Mike:They would have someone to talk to, and then they'd be like,
Mike:when he gets home, we're going to get him.
Tanner:miss kitty does not like to be picked up
Jorge:I would pick up Misha who's behind me,
Jorge:but he looks so comfy in that chair that I'm going to pretend I don't see him.
Mike:where you wear a clown mask and pick her up
Tanner:I've been trying to do exposure therapy, where I pick her up and scratch her tummy for increasingly long periods of time.
Tanner:And we've gotten up to around 20 to 25 seconds.
Tanner:Yep.
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:Okay.
Jorge:So we continue.
Tanner:As you continue, the environs start to shift a bit.
Jorge:What colors the backwater?
Tanner:The ground beneath you gets a bit spongier.
Tanner:There's areas of wetness and puddles and bog water.
Tanner:The bog water here is like a brownish green.
Jorge:Okay Are there alligators in this area
Tanner:green.
Tanner:You don't currently see
Tanner:the telltale signs of the chule But some of the trees start to take on some mangrove type qualities you know the trunk splits it got all these different
Josh:you Sorry
Tanner:you know almost above ground roots
Tanner:shooting down into the
Tanner:the wet
Tanner:land
Tanner:at your feet
Tanner:and
Tanner:um
Josh:I apologize ignore me
Jorge:Starion immersed
Tanner:Someone can make a nature check and conjecture about that.
Mike:of course
Josh:I'm just really amused by
Tanner:All right.
Mike:still with advantage or
Mike:20
Josh:us having to like go to Tanner
Josh:and be like is this thing here
Josh:is this thing here
Josh:Tanner how acidic is the water
Josh:no it's fine
Josh:I just think it's funny
Josh:nice
Jorge:Alligators are actually fairly friendly.
Tanner:There are alligators in the swamplands. You aren't too worried about them in your immediate vicinity. You're kind of bordering into the swamplands right now. You would expect them to be in some of the more deep water areas.
Mike:Okay.
Jorge:If I wasn't a farmer, I'd want to run an alligator sanctuary.
Jorge:Not a crocodile.
Jorge:Those are me.
Josh:Hannah, are there crocodiles in the swamp?
Jorge:Yeah, it's fine.
Tanner:I don't think so.
Tanner:Just alligators.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:That's good.
Josh:Okay.
Jorge:They're not a problem.
Tanner:Yeah, so that should be convenient, right?
Tanner:I have a funny note about that,
Tanner:but I can't share it until later.
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:Does someone want to make a survival check
Tanner:to navigate through the swamp
Tanner:and start looking for signs of the tool?
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:Kind of the Fool, one of my favorite movies.
Josh:No.
Tanner:That is a nine.
Josh:in mind
Tanner:You guys continue traveling into the swamp.
Tanner:It gets a little swampier, I guess.
Tanner:There start to be a bit larger pond-sized bodies of water around.
Tanner:There's gnats that you're kind of swatting away at.
Tanner:and Doom Eater, as you're kind of leading the group,
Tanner:you are kind of swatting away at some of the gnats and mosquitoes
Tanner:and not paying full attention to your surroundings
Tanner:until you look down, you step into a bit of a puddle
Tanner:and you see a distinct discoloration of this puddle
Tanner:it's got a kind of uh uh pinkish purplish hue to it um and you have the thought in your head of
Tanner:oh hey that means the tool is probably nearby um and then uh you look up and you see there's kind
Tanner:of this uh like uh dirt mound uh in front of you and uh uh reaching over the top of the dirt mound
Tanner:and screeching is this large insectoid creature.
Jorge:Thank you you oh shit
Tanner:Its two front appendages are these Giant,
Tanner:almost like lobster-looking claws,
Tanner:and it opens its mouth and screeches,
Tanner:and about a dozen dripping tentacles unfurl from the mouth,
Tanner:and you find yourself
Tanner:in very close contact with the tool And I guess we can roll initiative
Josh:you Yeah
Tanner:against the tool.
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:if this was a Marvel movie
Tanner:There were multiple levels of
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:DC for that survival check
Tanner:and you got
Tanner:the less than 10 DC by
Tanner:rolling a 9.
Tanner:So here we
Josh:Right.
Tanner:are.
Jorge:he would have stepped in it
Tanner:19 is good
Mike:Oh, now he's going to roll high.
Josh:Yeah.
Jorge:and they would have said
Jorge:oh no it's right behind me
Jorge:isn't he
Jorge:neat so
Tanner:from
Tanner:Niso
Tanner:oh my gosh
Tanner:24
Mike:I'm the higher modifier.
Mike:I need to be above you guys.
Mike:I need to be above you guys to get the higher modifier.
Tanner:Every roll you get just says...
Mike:I think so.
Josh:What?
Jorge:did josh change the dice roller to only compliment him
Jorge:Thank Josh.
Josh:No, the...
Tanner:No, it's because you guys have all rolled high numbers.
Jorge:From Josh with love.
Josh:The...
Josh:Yeah, the thing that it says is based on how good your role is,
Josh:not on the person.
Jorge:You should make it always blame Mike when it's bad, and then only compliment you when it's good.
Josh:There's...
Josh:The only player-specific change I ever had was I had something stupid, like there was a 1 in 100 chance if Noah rolled that instead of Dawnmonger it said something else that was stupid.
Jorge:cats are such
Josh:I don't even remember what it is and I don't want to go through the git history anymore.
Josh:But other than that, it's been completely independent of what person's rolling it.
Josh:Thank you That was comfy
Jorge:pains in the butts Misha was really comfortable where he was sleeping but Esty got up from her spot to go grab some food or water so then Misha went and took it and is now just mogging her while she trying to go back
Mike:Thank you I like floor duvets
Jorge:to be fair it looks very comfy
Jorge:it's on our duvet that's on the floor
Jorge:that we're going to wash
Jorge:I sent a photo
Mike:I like floor duvets.
Jorge:yes
Tanner:I don't know about your bird problem.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:I told you guys about my bird problem, right?
Jorge:Oh, they left?
Josh:I've, I...
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Josh:Oh, I can send a picture.
Josh:Basically, I didn't go out on my terrace for two weeks,
Josh:and apparently that was enough time for a pigeon to decide it would make a nest on my terrace,
Josh:and then lay an egg, and then have that egg hatch on my terrace.
Josh:But they finally left.
Josh:it's been some weeks and they finally left
Tanner:Unfortunate.
Josh:yeah and then I had to
Josh:have honestly a terrible time
Josh:cleaning up a month and a half's worth of
Jorge:Did you just throw out the turf?
Josh:pigeon crap off of the terrace
Josh:but they're gone
Josh:I've been freed
Josh:uh no I cleaned it
Josh:I got brushes
Tanner:Okay.
Josh:I had time
Tanner:Okay.
Josh:I cleaned it
Josh:I don't have a spare owl.
Tanner:Let me send
Jorge:You should put an owl on your terrace
Tanner:new Schmippy.
Jorge:so that doesn't happen again.
Tanner:All right.
Mike:Oh.
Jorge:Will they sell it for parking garages?
Josh:But...
Josh:They sell an owl for parking garages?
Jorge:yeah it's just a it's a fake owl that you just put there and it scares it's like a scarecrow
Josh:Yes.
Jorge:yeah well it's a scare pigeon actually
Mike:It's a scarecrow.
Josh:Don do that Ooh What No I was talking to you Mike
Tanner:I sent a shmepy.
Mike:SecondScarapy has hit the chat.
Tanner:Please arrive.
Jorge:all right
Tanner:what happened what What happened What
Mike:Tanner what did you do Josh was chastising you for something
Jorge:you Hmm
Josh:I was chastising you.
Josh:You made a
Josh:9-11 joke, and I said,
Josh:don't do that.
Mike:Well, no one made a night.
Mike:Well, we all live in New York here.
Josh:Zulgraf the Spongebath did.
Josh:Okay?
Josh:And we all
Mike:It's so good.
Josh:heard it.
Jorge:Are you a New Yorker if you don't make 9-11 jokes?
Tanner:Damn.
Mike:I don't know, Josh.
Josh:he's
Tanner:you can't exclude
Josh:I think that Mike is too Canadian
Josh:to make 9-11 jokes
Josh:he
Mike:You think they did it?
Mike:Hey let me get a
Jorge:He's never lived in the city.
Jorge:He's only lived in Canada or Jersey.
Josh:exactly
Josh:he lived in Canada and then he moved
Jorge:He doesn't have a right.
Josh:to New Jersey
Josh:at no point does he get to say that you know
Jorge:Canada, Boston, Jersey.
Josh:exactly
Jorge:He was never...
Jorge:Yeah.
Josh:Mm-hmm.
Jorge:you smear poop
Tanner:Boston from the list
Mike:Let me get a chopped cheese
Mike:And put a little poop on it
Tanner:that guy is an islander fan so i like him um
Mike:Hey, let me get a little blue and orange and put a little poop on it.
Tanner:all right uh we can begin uh doom eater uh despite coming nearly face to face with this
Jorge:alright
Jorge:alright
Josh:So, I have a problem.
Tanner:Chul, you are
Jorge:Unless you move behind it.
Tanner:very calm under pressure,
Tanner:clearly, and you act
Tanner:first.
Josh:You know, I don't think you guys will be able to fight it if I cover it in darkness.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Is that fine?
Jorge:No, I would like it to be in sight for me to see it.
Josh:Right, yeah.
Tanner:I think you'd have a tough time
Tanner:being both in melee and having part of it stick out of your 15 feet of darkness?
Tanner:Does it have to be centered on you?
Jorge:Just 40.
Tanner:Okay, well, in that case, there's potential.
Josh:Um, no, it doesn't.
Josh:Uh, is there, uh, like, so, yeah, that's fair.
Josh:Okay, so I will, I guess I will skirt around it.
Josh:I have 40 feet of movement, so I can go, like, here.
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Josh:And that's, I have enough, and then I will, I will, yeah, just 40, I'm sorry.
Josh:and then I will cast
Josh:darkness and then center it
Tanner:right
Josh:one square to
Josh:my right
Josh:that should put me and
Josh:most of it in darkness but not all of it
Josh:if you allow that
Tanner:okay
Tanner:so that'll kind of protect you from it
Tanner:but it can still see
Josh:um
Josh:yeah
Josh:yeah
Tanner:yeah
Tanner:one square to your right you said
Tanner:yeah
Tanner:kind of here-ish
Josh:Yeah, because then it's 15 feet from that point.
Tanner:I don't know if this is really correct
Jorge:I think you did an extra one on the top.
Josh:If that's acceptable.
Tanner:but
Tanner:darn it
Tanner:oh I don't know if I can undo that
Tanner:oh I can
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:oh
Tanner:oh
Tanner:oh
Tanner:oh
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Alright, we'll say that's the darkness-ish.
Tanner:You are within the darkness, the creature is only partially within the darkness, and that's gotta be good enough for now.
Tanner:Is there anything else you'd like to do with your turn?
Tanner:Are you allowed to do that in this edition Cool
Josh:Yeah, I'm going to spend a focus point.
Josh:Oh, first off, at the start of combat, I regained my focus points.
Josh:I was choosing to do that.
Josh:And then I spent one focus point to cast Darkness.
Josh:I want to spend another focus point to bop bop as it were Yeah it a bonus action to Flurry of Blows
Tanner:Yeah, for some reason I feel like it used to be that you had to attack first to use Flurry of Blows,
Tanner:but I wouldn't be surprised if they changed that.
Josh:Yeah, in this it just says you can expend one focus point to make two unarmed strikes as a bonus action.
Tanner:Okay.
Josh:yes
Tanner:It can't see you, so I guess you have advantage, huh?
Josh:I just needed that to happen once
Tanner:17 will hit.
Josh:okay first attack
Josh:I forgot to add a modifier
Josh:to that it's 17
Josh:nice
Tanner:17 will hit.
Tanner:14 misses
Josh:that is
Josh:11 points of damage
Josh:and it's force
Josh:and then
Josh:I make a second attack
Josh:that is a 14
Jorge:No.
Josh:yeah that's fair
Josh:yeah that's all the things
Tanner:but you hit him a little bit
Tanner:You punch his chitinous body and make some contact.
Tanner:Will that be all for your turn?
Tanner:Okay, the tool is next.
Tanner:it is
Jorge:No.
Jorge:I really hope you don't get paralyzed in the dark.
Tanner:going to
Tanner:attempt to strike you
Josh:That's fine.
Tanner:because it knows you are nearby
Tanner:so
Tanner:it makes
Tanner:it
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:oh I forgot to say
Josh:I...
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:I'm so sorry
Tanner:or maybe I did say
Tanner:breaking the thing is a bonus action
Tanner:to use the item.
Tanner:Yeah that my bad for not mentioning that sooner It does attack with disadvantage So it going to make its first pincer attack
Josh:Sure Good to know
Tanner:That is a 16.
Josh:Doesn't hit.
Tanner:And then its second pincer attack
Tanner:is a 10.
Tanner:That's definitely not going to hit.
Josh:Also doesn't hit.
Tanner:And then...
Tanner:it uses paralyzing tentacles.
Jorge:I don't have enough actions to, because we didn't see it, rage and take this thing.
Tanner:Oh, you're not grappled, so it can't do that.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:That, I think,
Tanner:is it for the tool.
Tanner:And it is Niso's turn.
Tanner:I will say no
Jorge:So I'm just going to rage.
Jorge:My bonus action.
Jorge:am I in the darkness here?
Jorge:Alright.
Jorge:So I'll be there. So I'm close to my buddy.
Jorge:And then I will strike him
Jorge:with my maw.
Tanner:yeah absolutely
Tanner:a 16 I believe hits
Jorge:And I'm not going to use advantage
Jorge:because I don't want him to grapple me.
Jorge:D20
Jorge:plus
Jorge:16
Jorge:great
Tanner:let me double check
Tanner:tab please
Tanner:yes 16 hits
Jorge:86
Jorge:plus
Jorge:plus
Tanner:18 points.
Jorge:86
Jorge:18 points
Jorge:damage
Tanner:Nice.
Jorge:And you need to make a constitution saving throw And the DC is eight plus 2 plus my ability modifier to make the attack which is
Tanner:Ooh I failed
Jorge:Strength.
Jorge:So.
Tanner:I got a 9.
Jorge:You failed!
Jorge:He is knocked prone.
Jorge:Yeah, buddy.
Tanner:Ooh
Tanner:Very well.
Jorge:Yeah, buddy.
Jorge:and
Tanner:probably not ideal for Zul'Grath
Mike:well we'll see
Jorge:well
Tanner:but
Tanner:do you have anything else to do with your turn?
Jorge:that's my turn
Mike:this guy he's just he's too big and zolgrath will cast
Jorge:no
Tanner:okay then it is Zul'Grath's turn
Tanner:amazing
Mike:enlarge on niso
Jorge:oh thank you
Jorge:Niso is now partially obstructed
Tanner:um I can do that
Mike:So,
Tanner:hold on
Tanner:how do I do that
Tanner:um
Jorge:in darkness
Jorge:yes
Tanner:Wait.
Tanner:Shift.
Tanner:And a drag.
Tanner:Big!
Tanner:Anything else from Zulgrath?
Mike:Telegraph will say, I really don't want to go back to the old me.
Mike:And he'll take out the thing and crack it and nip it.
Tanner:Very well.
Tanner:For the next minute you have advantage against the saving throws for the paralyzing tentacles
Mike:And he'll move closer.
Tanner:Yes
Tanner:Okay
Tanner:on initiative count 15
Tanner:the tool
Tanner:lets out a screech and
Tanner:Something that you did not notice
Jorge:Oh, no.
Tanner:were three sets of what looked like egg sacks
Tanner:kind of strewn around the battlefield.
Tanner:And emerging from each of these egg sacks
Tanner:is one very small chule.
Tanner:and
Tanner:one of them emerges from
Tanner:this egg sac up here and approaches
Tanner:Zul'Grath. One of them emerges from this here
Tanner:and approaches Niso. And then the other one
Tanner:emerges from here and does not
Tanner:want to go into the darkness and doesn't have quite enough movement
Tanner:so I guess it dashes to also
Tanner:get in range of Niso
Jorge:Bye.
Mike:Mrs.
Tanner:but might 1 is going to
Tanner:it gets to make one
Tanner:claw attack, it's going to make it at Zul'Grath
Tanner:and might 2 is going to do one at Niso
Tanner:we will start with might 1 on Zul'Grath
Tanner:jeez, that's a 9
Tanner:and then
Mike:Mrs.
Tanner:on
Mike:Mrs.
Tanner:Niso
Tanner:oh my god that's a six
Jorge:Yes, I like these dice.
Josh:Um is it worth going after the egg sacs I assume to stop the mites from spawning or should we just be focusing on the tool
Tanner:terrible
Jorge:Never get rid of them.
Tanner:absolutely terrible
Jorge:Unless you're playing in our campaign.
Tanner:that brings us back up to the
Jorge:Don't you dare use this in our campaign.
Tanner:Doom Eater
Tanner:Thank you All right
Jorge:If you get bonus action if you get bonus action give Niso some of that good good
Mike:I be focusing I be focusing Cool
Jorge:He can stay in the tank.
Josh:I don't know what that means.
Jorge:The immunity thing.
Josh:Oh. No, I could do that. That's fine. I'll give you a bonus action.
Jorge:I'll just do it on my turn.
Josh:I'll do a bonus action, snap the thing, and then feed it to Nisa.
Tanner:Well, then, Niso, you also have advantage against the paralyzation for a minute.
Josh:And then I guess...
Tanner:All right.
Tanner:Sure.
Josh:I think I'll just...
Josh:Fine.
Josh:I'm gonna... I'm gonna spend some of my movement.
Josh:15 feet this way.
Josh:Punch, sack three.
Josh:19
Tanner:Sure.
Jorge:They're actually weak to force.
Tanner:You can certainly do that.
Tanner:19 hits.
Josh:deal damage to sac 3
Josh:eight points of force damage
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:That does not destroy.
Tanner:But it.
Josh:I don't have any more stuff, so I'm just going to then spend another 15 feet of movement
Tanner:You smush several of the remaining eggs.
Tanner:In this.
Tanner:egg sac, but it looks like there's still one or two viable eggs there.
Josh:to go back to the tool.
Tanner:Very well It is now the Chul turn The Chul is going to go all in on Niso this turn Okay
Jorge:None None That hits
Tanner:Two pincer attacks.
Tanner:First one is a 21.
Tanner:And the second one is a 22.
Tanner:22.
Tanner:Okay
Jorge:hits.
Tanner:So you take
Tanner:From the first hit
Tanner:7 points of
Tanner:Bludgeoning damage
Tanner:Correct
Jorge:All right.
Jorge:Take three.
Tanner:And from the second one
Tanner:You take 13 points
Tanner:Of bludgeoning damage
Tanner:And you are grappled
Jorge:Take seven.
Tanner:In one of its pincers
Tanner:unfortunately it is allowed to target large creatures
Jorge:Ah.
Jorge:Does it have the actions?
Tanner:that is its size limit for grappling
Tanner:and so it can paralyze
Tanner:tentacles you so you have to make a constitution saving throw
Tanner:you have advantage because you were given the
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:antitoxin
Jorge:80
Tanner:That is a success.
Jorge:80
Jorge:can't say
Josh:Abysmal, how dare you.
Jorge:18
Jorge:that's good in this system
Jorge:all right
Jorge:Great. Did you see him upset about that?
Tanner:All right.
Tanner:So you are not paralyzed.
Tanner:and that ends the chules turn
Tanner:it's now your turn niso
Jorge:Great great great Niso is going to do something fun So he is going to
Tanner:I will say the teleport drops the grapple, yes.
Josh:you No
Jorge:jaunt
Jorge:above this thing
Josh:No.
Jorge:with cloud jaunt
Jorge:and teleport
Jorge:above, which should drop the grapple,
Jorge:I'm hoping.
Jorge:Yes.
Jorge:here and then I will drop my maul
Tanner:Very well.
Josh:.
Jorge:and grab my
Jorge:actually no I keep it for now
Jorge:because now there's nothing else to sweep
Jorge:and then I will strike at it
Jorge:that's why I won't make an attack
Jorge:oh I didn't have
Tanner:I should note that it did stand up on its turn.
Jorge:I have this movement could I have attacked it
Jorge:when I stood up
Tanner:Uh, no.
Jorge:is that how this works in this game
Tanner:No.
Tanner:No, they have to leave your melee range
Jorge:no
Jorge:All right, all right.
Josh:
Josh:.
Tanner:to trigger an opportunity attack.
Mike:I don't think so, but let me check.
Tanner:Which I guess is a negative for reach weapons.
Jorge:Wait.
Tanner:That's kind of interesting, right?
Josh:you have advantage on
Tanner:Anyway, yes, you can attack it.
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Wait, quick question.
Jorge:When I'm enlarging, does that increase my reach?
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:That's a great question.
Tanner:What does the spell say on enlarge?
Tanner:I believe it does give you bonus damage
Jorge:Okay, cool.
Mike:Actually.
Josh:advantage on strength checks and strength saving throws
Josh:and your attacks deal an additional 1d4 damage
Jorge:I'm going to do this reckless.
Jorge:BB plus
Jorge:seven.
Jorge:15. Does that hit?
Tanner:a 15 does not hit
Tanner:You teleport to the other side of this creature, and it quickly whirls around with you, and you have to die.
Jorge:No!
Jorge:I have nothing else.
Jorge:The stupid system!
Jorge:Can I step in this system?
Tanner:it's oncoming claws and you're not able to get a good swing at it.
Mike:you can disengage and then move.
Josh:you have disengage
Tanner:There's no step.
Jorge:There's no step?
Tanner:I mean, you can...
Josh:which is an action
Josh:different system
Mike:Yeah.
Tanner:It would get an attack of opportunity if you step away from it.
Jorge:Open system!
Jorge:I'm fine, I'm here.
Tanner:If that is your turn, then it brings us to Zul'Grath.
Mike:yes
Mike:um
Mike:i think i've been accidentally adding my six mod to the 1d10 whatever um
Mike:Zul'Grath will say
Mike:they're gonna make me do it.
Mike:It's too dire.
Mike:And he will pull out his
Mike:rapier
Tanner:Aha!
Josh:What?
Mike:and activate his blade song.
Mike:And then walk up to the chule.
Josh:What?
Tanner:He's a bladesinger.
Josh:I don't even think he's allowed to be one of those.
Mike:He is.
Mike:They let me pick it.
Tanner:I think that technically the old subclasses are allowed.
Mike:someone ported it
Tanner:And they have...
Tanner:they actually made rules about when the levels of the certain feats don't line up.
Josh:That's fun.
Tanner:There's some kind of rule for...
Tanner:Anyway.
Mike:someone ported the old
Mike:blade singer into 5.5
Mike:E on D&D Beyond
Mike:does it
Josh:I actually just generally meant that, like, I thought that Bladesingers were locked behind
Mike:well 5 changes so that racial bonuses aren even a thing you just pick more bonuses does a 24 hit
Josh:elves That fair That fair
Tanner:Oh well that just stupid in my opinion you Yes indeed it does
Mike:five damage
Tanner:It takes 5 damage.
Tanner:You connect with your rapier as you begin your blade song.
Mike:perfect
Jorge:We'll be right back.
Mike:That's it. Fun bonus actions.
Mike:Besides the blade song that I activated.
Tanner:That'll be all, yes?
Mike:Yes.
Tanner:Okay, the...
Tanner:On initiative count 15, the chule cries out again.
Tanner:And another three tulle mites emerge.
Tanner:So that makes things interesting.
Tanner:We'll have these go here.
Tanner:This one will go here.
Tanner:Mite four emerges here.
Tanner:Five.
Tanner:Six.
Tanner:6 will have dash around the darkness
Tanner:it will not get an attack
Tanner:I guess 5 goes here
Tanner:and then 4
Jorge:Oh, wow.
Tanner:can go
Tanner:4 will also dash
Tanner:to reach Niso
Tanner:but it cannot attack either
Tanner:so, might 1 is going to make an attack on Niso
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:All right, let's do it.
Tanner:I rolled the same thing both times.
Jorge:He has advantage.
Jorge:He has advantage.
Tanner:It's a 17.
Jorge:That hits Two
Mike:you Come at me
Tanner:You take four points of piercing damage
Jorge:Two points.
Tanner:Yes.
Tanner:And then
Tanner:two, three, and five
Tanner:are all going to make attacks on
Tanner:Zul'Grath.
Tanner:While the Doom Eater hides in the darkness.
Mike:Come at me.
Tanner:Alright, I got a 12.
Mike:He's now British.
Tanner:a 7,
Mike:Come at me.
Josh:Isn't it?
Mike:Doesn't it?
Mike:Doesn't it?
Tanner:and a
Tanner:dirty 20.
Mike:That one hits.
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:It barely hits.
Tanner:So, the one gets you
Josh:Barely.
Tanner:a little bit.
Josh:Barely.
Tanner:You take
Tanner:6 points of piercing damage.
Mike:Oh.
Tanner:Um...
Mike:I don't even have to keep track of my health.
Mike:Oh, I have D&D Beyond.
Tanner:That is the end of the
Tanner:Mite's turns. Um...
Tanner:You, uh, hear the, uh,
Tanner:screeching and, uh,
Tanner:other various noises of a chimpanzee.
Tanner:Uh, as, let's say,
Tanner:this bottom left area
Jorge:I raise my earth.
Tanner:of the map has a little bit more
Tanner:tree than
Tanner:is depicted. And emerging from
Tanner:the trees is the chimpanzee from before.
Tanner:And it leaps
Tanner:onto Egg Sack 1
Tanner:and
Tanner:absolutely crushes it.
Tanner:And then kind of looks
Tanner:to the two of you it can see,
Tanner:kind of raises its arms up,
Tanner:you know, like,
Tanner:and then it
Jorge:Woo, woo, woo, woo.
Jorge:Together, eight are strong.
Tanner:kind of retreats back up into the
Tanner:tree.
Jorge:Thank you how is the jewel looking
Josh:you It seems like the strategy we settled on is ignore the sacks
Tanner:But it takes out an egg sack that brings us back up to Doom Eater
Josh:So I'm going to continue to ignore the sacks.
Josh:I'm going to attack the troll three times.
Tanner:um
Tanner:It's been hit, but it is not yet bloodied.
Jorge:All right.
Mike:Ultimately, when we started.
Josh:I did bad so many times.
Tanner:Yeah, that's really unfortunate, but none of those hit.
Josh:How is that even possible?
Josh:That's crazy.
Tanner:Oh, it rolled two ones?
Josh:I got a natural one with advantage.
Josh:it rolled two ones
Mike:the percentile these six roses also ridiculous oh well
Josh:yeah yeah no none of those count i rolled 60 20s and i got a one a one a one a two a three and a
Tanner:Terrible.
Tanner:Oh, those are good, but I think it's a little late.
Josh:Okay, that's fine. I didn't want to do anything anyway. I'm just gonna hang out in this darkness.
Tanner:I'm very sorry about that.
Mike:and one one two three
Tanner:That does bring it to the Chul's turn.
Jorge:No, it doesn't hit.
Tanner:I think it's going to split its attacks
Tanner:between Niso and Zul'Gath.
Tanner:It does have advantage on you, Niso.
Tanner:That's correct.
Tanner:All right, so we'll do you first.
Mike:one
Tanner:Wow.
Tanner:Terrible.
Tanner:A 10?
Tanner:and then it will make an attack on Zul'Gath.
Mike:Let's not hit.
Jorge:Yay.
Tanner:That is an 18.
Jorge:That's a hit?
Jorge:Great, great.
Tanner:Oh, the blade song probably boosts your armor class, doesn't it?
Mike:yeah so uh mage armor starts it at 13 then add my decks of
Mike:three and then my add my into four so i have a 20 ac
Tanner:Yeah, that's baller.
Tanner:Okay, so the Chul misses everybody, and it's Niso's turn.
Jorge:Niso's gonna drop his maul
Jorge:and pick up his claver now
Jorge:because now there's enemies
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:All right.
Jorge:not gonna reckless
Jorge:but he's going to attack the
Jorge:cool
Jorge:alright
Jorge:wow
Jorge:uh
Jorge:let me read this
Jorge:okay
Tanner:Do you have to hit to cleave?
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:That's the question.
Jorge:Yeah, you do have to hit.
Jorge:Bonus action.
Tanner:Fun.
Mike:Sorry.
Jorge:I guess I'll use...
Jorge:I'll roll 1d12
Jorge:to get some HP back.
Jorge:I'll roll 2d12, because it has...
Tanner:Fun.
Jorge:Yeah, I'll just do that.
Jorge:13.
Tanner:Nice.
Jorge:Alright.
Jorge:That's my turn, because of...
Jorge:You know.
Tanner:All right, that makes it Zulgrath's turn.
Jorge:What do you do to Benny?
Mike:I asked Google what's the probability of rolling a 14 or lower as a total of six D20 rolls?
Tanner:Very impressive work, Josh.
Mike:Chul.
Tanner:nobody can hit anything the monsters can hit The hunters can hit
Mike:It's payback for what you did to Benny last session.
Mike:Eleven you Eleven
Tanner:Would you like to do anything else?
Mike:No.
Tanner:Yay, low-level Dungeons & Dragons.
Tanner:So exciting.
Tanner:That brings us to the
Tanner:Mights.
Tanner:the mites do not
Jorge:No.
Tanner:generate more mites this turn.
Tanner:But the six that are
Tanner:on the board do get to attack.
Tanner:Niso, did you reckless attack last round?
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:So they're going to make three regular attacks against you.
Tanner:That's a
Tanner:30-20.
Jorge:I have a 15 AC.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:and then a miss with 12, and a miss with 14.
Jorge:I dare it.
Mike:This is all crap.
Tanner:So you get hit once.
Tanner:You take 4 damage, of course halved to 2.
Tanner:And then the other 3 are going to attack Zul'Grath.
Jorge:Zul'Graph sounds like a...
Jorge:Like a med.
Tanner:16, 11, and a natural 1.
Jorge:Are you on Zul'Graph?
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:It does, kind of.
Tanner:They all miss with your 20 armor class.
Tanner:The closest I got is a 15.
Mike:Gary.
Tanner:So that brings us back to the chimpanzee,
Tanner:who will crush this egg sack down here.
Tanner:And then back up to Doom Eater.
Mike:Hell yeah.
Josh:Okay this time I actually going to hit every time The whole time I decided
Tanner:Nice Nice
Mike:I watch the chat even though they say I watch chat ever boils oh okay
Josh:22 and 18 and a 27 crit.
Tanner:All three of those hit.
Josh:Excellent.
Josh:Uh, okay.
Josh:I'm just gonna roll all three of them at the same time, that's fine, right?
Tanner:Oh, no, you can combine it.
Mike:No, you have to type it.
Josh:Or should I do one at a time?
Tanner:Yeah, that's...
Tanner:It hasn't resisted your force damage.
Tanner:It hasn't because it can't.
Josh:Good.
Josh:I was hoping that would work.
Mike:I've been trying to type stuff like that all night.
Tanner:These three numbers
Josh:Oh, oh.
Mike:And it's...
Josh:I know why that didn't work. It's because I used semicolons, because I'm an idiot.
Josh:Uh, 27 points of force damage. Yeah.
Tanner:27
Tanner:That's pretty darn good
Tanner:Um
Josh:There's definitely a smarter way of doing that.
Tanner:Yeah
Tanner:It is certainly bloody now.
Tanner:It is not looking good at all.
Tanner:You punch the absolute crap out of it.
Tanner:You cause some cracks in its chitin.
Tanner:And it is looking rather worse for wear.
Tanner:That's your turn.
Josh:That's my whole turn.
Tanner:Alright, it is the Chul's turn.
Tanner:and it once again going to divide its strikes one against Niso is a 19 which I believe hits Niso Yep
Jorge:That hits That hits
Tanner:You take five points of bludgeoning damage, which you may have to two, and you are grappled.
Jorge:Alright, alright.
Tanner:and then
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:I miss
Jorge:That's fine.
Tanner:Zul'Grath
Tanner:with a 16.
Tanner:Unfortunately, this
Tanner:paralyzing stuff does not say a success
Tanner:makes you immune, so you are grappled again,
Tanner:you get hit by the tentacles, and you make another
Jorge:20.
Tanner:save, but you do still have advantage.
Jorge:Dirty.
Tanner:A 26 seeds! You are not
Tanner:paralyzed.
Tanner:Excellent.
Tanner:that is the
Jorge:All right, sorry, I was drinking.
Mike:I'll pretend I didn't hear that.
Josh:I
Tanner:Chul. Niso, it's your turn.
Jorge:I found a great way to get some protein in that doesn't taste horrible if you're sick of whey.
Jorge:It's a mix yogurt and orange juice.
Jorge:Delicious.
Tanner:Yeah, that sounds crazy.
Jorge:What'd you say?
Josh:the fact that you're
Mike:My stomach can't handle that.
Josh:Yet yogurt and orange juice together doesn't sound amazing.
Jorge:i am telling you it is really good it's like a creamsicle style you get no fat um yogurt
Mike:Wouldn't it curdle from the acidity?
Jorge:no fat you get like a skier or greek you mix it with oj and if you use either a shaker bottle
Jorge:or a whisk in a bowl.
Jorge:It goes completely smooth.
Jorge:And it is so good.
Jorge:I gave some to Bailey and her sister,
Jorge:and they're like, it's actually good.
Jorge:And they didn't think it would be good.
Jorge:But it is.
Tanner:What's your ratio?
Mike:You just ask a sequence.
Jorge:Anyway.
Jorge:I don't measure it.
Jorge:I just put some yogurt, mix it a little bit until it's smooth,
Jorge:and then I put more orange juice to how much I want to drink.
Jorge:It's really good.
Jorge:You should try it, really, seriously.
Jorge:Anyway.
Jorge:So the stool is injured.
Jorge:It's bloodied.
Tanner:It is bloodied.
Tanner:It is not looking good at all.
Tanner:Yeah.
Jorge:You know what?
Jorge:Big money no whammies.
Jorge:I'm going to ADV it.
Tanner:Very well.
Mike:Huh.
Josh:He's being reckless.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:I'm so sorry.
Tanner:It has a 16 armor class.
Jorge:It's okay.
Jorge:I don't want to play this game.
Jorge:So it's fine.
Jorge:I'll just stay here,
Jorge:do the same thing I've done the last three turns,
Jorge:and just do nothing.
Jorge:It's fine.
Jorge:yeah no I'm done
Tanner:Hmm.
Mike:Yes.
Josh:I hate me so from the darkness. Just to spice things up.
Jorge:I'm good it's good
Tanner:That brings us to Zulgrath.
Mike:The tool.
Mike:Does a nine hit.
Tanner:Yeah, that's...
Tanner:Not quite, unfortunately.
Jorge:Thank you you With advantage remember
Tanner:that brings us to the children
Mike:Okay.
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:yeah sorry
Tanner:I just came up with that
Tanner:another might does emerge
Tanner:from the last egg sack
Tanner:again it's too far
Tanner:because of the darkness to really do anything
Tanner:so it just going to dash to continue to surround Niso but there are going to be three attacks against Niso from the other mites and then three against Sulgrath So we start with Niso
Tanner:That's a 23.
Tanner:Oh, yeah, you're right.
Tanner:Still a 23.
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:Second one is a 19.
Jorge:Hits.
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:The third one is a 9.
Tanner:So you get hit twice.
Tanner:For three halved to one.
Tanner:And then nine halved to four.
Jorge:Five damage.
Tanner:And then we'll make three attacks against Zul'Grath.
Tanner:That's a 19, which misses.
Tanner:A natural 20, which crits.
Tanner:And a 17, which misses.
Mike:He's dead.
Josh:but still misses.
Tanner:So you do get crit on.
Tanner:I rolled pretty low, and so it becomes 6 points of damage.
Mike:I also have to make a con save.
Tanner:Oh, are you concentrating? Yes.
Mike:I rolled in D&D Beyond, which we'll just take.
Mike:It was a 14, and I have a plus 5 to con because of blade singing.
Tanner:Yeah, I'm pretty sure the DC was 10, so...
Tanner:You are good in that regard.
Mike:Nice.
Tanner:The chimpanzee is kind of keeping to the outskirts,
Tanner:and he is not able to reach the other egg sac this round So that goes to Doom Eater
Josh:so So I out of focus points
Josh:So, I'm just going to do a regular punch attack.
Tanner:Sure.
Tanner:Well, that hits.
Josh:And then I don't know what I'm going to do with my bonus action.
Josh:21.
Mike:Nice.
Josh:Uh, eight.
Tanner:Okay.
Josh:Eight points of force damage.
Tanner:It is mortal.
Tanner:Mortal.
Josh:Sick.
Josh:If I had a focus point, I would finish it off.
Mike:Okay.
Tanner:Did they get rid of the bonus action single strike?
Josh:But I don't...
Josh:Uh, yes.
Tanner:...
Mike:like with your offhand one or
Josh:So, I'm going to...
Mike:I don't know in mine
Josh:You can't just attack offhand.
Josh:Like, you need a feat that lets you do that.
Josh:So.
Mike:two weapon fighting I just randomly have two weapon fighting on my character
Josh:Yeah, two-weapon fighting will let you do it.
Tanner:nice
Josh:I don't have that because I don't have two weapons.
Josh:Other than darts.
Josh:But I can't use the darts.
Josh:So, I guess I will...
Josh:I...
Mike:um
Josh:Um...
Jorge:All right.
Josh:I disengage.
Josh:I'm not moving anywhere, I just disengage.
Tanner:uh-huh
Tanner:I love it
Tanner:um
Tanner:that does bring us
Tanner:to the chule
Tanner:it's looking bad
Tanner:it's looking desperate
Tanner:but it's very much
Tanner:surrounded by the
Tanner:three of you
Tanner:so it's just going to
Tanner:continue to lash out.
Tanner:It will strike at Niso with advantage
Tanner:for a 24 you are going to take damage 8 damage
Jorge:That That hits
Jorge:I rolled my con saving throw.
Jorge:It's a natural 25.
Tanner:Okay, we will hang on to that, but it is, if it grabs Zul'Grath, it's going to try to go for Zul'Grath with the tentacles.
Tanner:but if it doesn't hit him then
Jorge:Okay.
Jorge:Okay.
Tanner:we'll use that roll
Tanner:and sorry
Tanner:what did I say you took 8 points
Tanner:which you can halve to 4 and then it
Tanner:attempts to attack
Tanner:and it misses
Tanner:so yes
Tanner:you resist you are the one
Tanner:hit by the tentacles and you resist them
Tanner:handily
Tanner:and it's your turn
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:the tool is looking
Tanner:terrible
Tanner:yeah
Jorge:Yeah.
Jorge:ADV it, you know.
Mike:Yeah, Josh does.
Josh:He's so reckless.
Tanner:oh my god
Tanner:Jorge I'm very sorry
Tanner:I don't control the dice
Tanner:Josh does
Jorge:It's fine.
Tanner:Josh did not want you to have a good time
Mike:Yes.
Josh:I don't control the dice either!
Jorge:It's fine.
Jorge:It's fine.
Josh:Do you want access to my source code?
Tanner:tonight
Jorge:yeah
Josh:This source code is public, it's open source.
Jorge:this is
Josh:You can look at it.
Josh:You can have Claude look at it.
Josh:You can do whatever you want.
Jorge:yeah no it's fine
Jorge:it's
Jorge:this is why I appreciate
Jorge:Pathfinder's
Jorge:multi-action attacks
Jorge:and I know
Jorge:it doesn't actually solve most of this
Jorge:because if you roll crummy on your first one
Jorge:you're statistically not likely to make your second
Jorge:anyway because of the map
Jorge:but it feels like you can still roll something here there's just like no if you're like most
Tanner:yeah level 5 is
Jorge:fighters you don't get anything until fifth and it's just like you just have no bonus action to
Jorge:hit or anything
Jorge:It's definitely less thinking.
Tanner:Nice jump.
Mike:Hill.
Josh:I mean, I think it's just kind of tuned for, like, D&D fights are supposed to be faster,
Josh:because you've got less thinking you've got to do for any individual action.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Well, speaking of faster,
Tanner:we'll keep it moving, and we'll let
Jorge:I don't know if it's faster.
Tanner:Zul'Graph go.
Mike:Hill.
Tanner:Jeez.
Mike:Does an eight hit?
Tanner:No.
Tanner:Wow.
Mike:I will
Tanner:And you're going to remain, I presume.
Mike:yep
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Then the
Tanner:mites are going to go.
Tanner:We're going to make four attacks
Tanner:with advantage on Niso.
Tanner:A dirty
Tanner:20.
Tanner:A 21.
Jorge:Great, great.
Tanner:A 22.
Tanner:And a 9.
Tanner:You get hit 3 times.
Tanner:4 halved to 2.
Jorge:All right, all right.
Tanner:3 halved to 1.
Tanner:Oh, and 10 halved to 5.
Tanner:got a min roll and a max roll in there
Tanner:isn't that fun
Jorge:That's very fun.
Mike:We're going to kill Zul'Gras before we can.
Josh:Oh, wow.
Tanner:and then we'll make three attacks
Tanner:against Solgrath
Tanner:that's an 11
Tanner:a 9
Tanner:and a 22
Tanner:you take 7 points
Mike:I don like that
Tanner:of piercing.
Tanner:And the chimpanzee smashes the final egg sack and it Doom Eater turn
Jorge:Thank you He the real MVP here
Josh:you Well I mean I gonna punch
Josh:I'm gonna punch.
Josh:It's punch time.
Josh:It's punch clock.
Josh:This is 23?
Tanner:indeed
Tanner:Nine points will do it.
Josh:Nice.
Josh:Nine.
Josh:Nine points of force damage.
Tanner:Do you care to describe at all how you end the tool?
Josh:Ah.
Josh:Um.
Josh:No.
Tanner:Very well.
Josh:Because I'm in shadow.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:I want it to be mysterious.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:I want them fighting the truel,
Josh:and then all of a sudden it just keels over,
Josh:and then when they look over,
Josh:they see just like a fist-sized hole in its armor.
Tanner:Yes, you guys hear a crunch and then a squish
Josh:where I punched it.
Tanner:as the Chul kind of lets out one final shriek
Tanner:and falls to the ground dead.
Tanner:Its children remain.
Tanner:That does not end the battle, unfortunately.
Tanner:But the Chul has been slain.
Tanner:and Niso it is
Josh:What?
Tanner:or well Doom Eater if you have
Tanner:anything
Tanner:yeah sorry
Josh:Yeah, I still got time.
Josh:I got stuff to do.
Josh:This is 10 feet.
Josh:This is another 10 feet.
Josh:That's fine.
Josh:I had enough movement.
Josh:And then I'm going to move my shadow.
Josh:Every round I get to move it.
Tanner:uh-huh
Tanner:very well
Josh:I just haven't needed to.
Josh:I'm going to move it such that it covers
Josh:might 7 and might 6 and me, but not me so.
Tanner:we're just going to say that happened
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:and not deal with any of this on the map because I actually not sure if I can if I erase I don know what happens if I erase the square
Jorge:Help Oh Ha ha ha ha
Josh:Okay That fair Like move the black squares
Tanner:Let's just look for fun.
Tanner:Oh, the background comes back. Wow.
Tanner:I'm not going to make a new black square, but
Tanner:actually it is kind of easy, isn't it?
Josh:That's fair.
Tanner:Something kind of like this.
Tanner:Whatever.
Tanner:Awesome.
Jorge:All right, I will attack my one.
Tanner:that's the end of your turn
Josh:That's the end of my journal.
Tanner:okay so Niso now it's you
Tanner:very well
Tanner:yes that'll hit
Jorge:22.
Jorge:Yay, now we hit.
Tanner:that will definitely hit
Jorge:18 points!
Jorge:Great, great.
Tanner:Yeah, you absolutely destroy this thing.
Jorge:Yeah, and I attack its friend next to him for 23 to hit.
Tanner:Which one? That was might one.
Tanner:Yeah, that hits.
Jorge:I hit 11 on that one.
Tanner:A mighty blow, but it does still stand.
Jorge:That's my turn.
Jorge:Did the guts from the bugs do anything?
Jorge:that's fair
Tanner:So, on your first hit, it would have done one point of poison damage, but the chool was immune to poison.
Tanner:So, yes.
Jorge:appreciate you for looking out
Tanner:Okay that brings us to Zul
Mike:We move Zulgath will move uh
Tanner:There will be attacks of opportunity, depending on where you move, but you have free will.
Mike:I think you're five feet up
Mike:I have free will
Mike:um
Mike:is all got to move there
Tanner:Okay, let me make some attacks of opportunity.
Mike:it thanks for opportunity
Mike:oh thank god and then zolgraf will point his rapier at the might in the middle and said
Tanner:The highest I got was a 19.
Mike:you have bothered me long enough mites actually no you have bothered me long enough
Mike:Bites, and he will cast Shatter centered on Might 2.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Tanner:I make some kind of saving throw, I presume.
Mike:You make a con saving throw.
Tanner:Okay, I have a plus.
Mike:DC is 14.
Tanner:Oh, they're actually proficient in those. That's fun.
Tanner:Unfortunately, I only rolled one failure.
Tanner:The other two are successes.
Tanner:You said DC 14?
Tanner:yes I got a 15 and 19 and a 5
Mike:Mm hmm.
Tanner:they are not constructs no
Mike:Are any of them constructs?
Tanner:but I assume they still take half damage
Mike:Okay.
Tanner:okay
Mike:They do.
Mike:Half of 19.
Tanner:19
Tanner:that kills might 2 who took the
Mike:Mm hmm.
Tanner:full brunt and then 19 halves to 9 so the other two are made bloody
Tanner:That's might...
Mike:Yes.
Mike:And that is the turn.
Tanner:There's might seven, I forgot.
Tanner:Um, okay.
Tanner:Will that be all?
Mike:Yes.
Mike:Yes.
Tanner:Alright, then the mites will go.
Tanner:Um, those two will now close on you.
Mike:I will attack of opportunity.
Tanner:Um...
Jorge:That doesn't work like that.
Tanner:You don't get to do it incoming unless you have the sentinel feat.
Mike:might
Josh:Mm-hmm.
Mike:but
Jorge:Yeah.
Mike:oh
Mike:it's only when they exit
Mike:who designed this system
Tanner:Yeah, in this game, yeah.
Josh:Mm-hmm.
Jorge:Yeah.
Tanner:Oh, wow.
Tanner:I rolled a 21 and a 23.
Mike:yeah
Mike:so that's going down
Tanner:That's tough.
Tanner:That's tough.
Tanner:That's four points.
Tanner:and six points.
Mike:The four points brings them down.
Tanner:Zul'Gath falls to the
Tanner:mites, avenging
Tanner:their parent.
Tanner:Oh, and then there's more mites.
Mike:so shrinks.
Tanner:Oh. Okay.
Tanner:Niso, do you have a preference for which square you shrink into?
Jorge:The one cluster cell graph.
Tanner:I will let you pick.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Need to shift.
Tanner:And then shrink.
Tanner:Like this.
Jorge:Yeah Yes Yes
Tanner:Cool.
Tanner:Might four is going to go for you.
Tanner:Did you Reckless on the mites Okay That is an 18
Jorge:It's.
Tanner:You take 6.
Tanner:Halve to 3.
Jorge:Alright.
Tanner:And then the other two are in darkness.
Tanner:They...
Tanner:Don't really know what's happening.
Josh:Nice.
Tanner:One of the mites is going to just attack blindly
Tanner:towards where it thought Niso was and miss.
Tanner:And then the other one is going to go for Dew Meter with disadvantage.
Tanner:That's a natural 20 and a 3 for a total of 7 to hit.
Tanner:And then the
Josh:that misses.
Tanner:might 7 is going to
Tanner:exit the darkness, giving you an attack of opportunity.
Josh:Which I will take.
Josh:Because it's leaving
Josh:my range.
Tanner:Right.
Josh:19.
Tanner:19 hits.
Tanner:It is bloodied.
Josh:7 points of force damage.
Tanner:And it is your turn.
Tanner:You may have your reaction.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:Okay.
Josh:5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
Josh:darkness covers me
Tanner:Amazing.
Josh:and Zul and my five and might three I sorry
Tanner:Oh boy Okay Uh Okay I can do this Everybody stay calm
Mike:you That a trait
Josh:I'm sorry.
Tanner:Okay. We're just going to do it like...
Tanner:Alright. We're just going to leave it like that.
Tanner:I don't care.
Josh:That's fine.
Tanner:Very well.
Josh:is it an action or a bonus action
Tanner:Ooh, that is a great question.
Josh:to administer a potion to a fallen friend
Josh:I have both an action and a bonus action
Tanner:If all you have is an action, I will definitely let you do it.
Tanner:But I don't know.
Josh:I just want to know which I'm ticking off
Tanner:Oh, the darkness just moves?
Josh:yep
Tanner:Oh, man.
Mike:is doom eater not doom micromanager
Josh:Heh. Stupid.
Tanner:I don't know if they changed the rule.
Josh:Which would you prefer?
Tanner:I'll let you do it with the bonus action.
Tanner:It's fine.
Josh:Okay, I feed a potion of healing to... to, um... what's his face? Solgraf.
Josh:There's six points of vitality damage, except not really.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Shoot.
Tanner:Roll the healing.
Tanner:Why not?
Tanner:All right, Zulgath, you get six hit points, and you emerge from an internal darkness to an external darkness.
Mike:What the hell is going on?
Josh:And then I'm gonna punch my three in the face.
Tanner:Very well.
Josh:I forgot to roll advantage on that because we in darkness 11 points force damage
Tanner:Ah yeah that hits That hits Yeah I don think it could have survived any hit
Josh:Good.
Tanner:You slay might three.
Tanner:Oh, no, I'm on the wrong thing.
Tanner:Put the darkness back.
Josh:I slay the darkness.
Tanner:Hake the token away.
Tanner:That's a great turn.
Tanner:It's now Niso's turn.
Jorge:Great. Niso uses bonus action. Sorry, go ahead.
Tanner:Niso
Tanner:just for your reference
Tanner:the only
Jorge:Uh-huh.
Tanner:might that is not bloodied is
Tanner:six
Tanner:of course
Jorge:Okay. Niso uses bonus action to use large form and grow back to his original large size.
Jorge:Yes.
Jorge:yeah
Tanner:that makes a ton of sense
Jorge:and then he's gonna attack with advantage
Tanner:Amazing.
Mike:Oh, that's a good point.
Josh:Oh, I do, I actually have a question.
Jorge:on seven
Jorge:21
Josh:I don't know if I missed it.
Josh:Zul'Greth, did you already, when you went down,
Jorge:22
Josh:had you already used your relentless endurance?
Jorge:20.
Josh:Or orts?
Tanner:You hit, Jorge, by the way.
Mike:Oh, right.
Tanner:Sorry.
Tanner:Oh my god.
Mike:I had not used it.
Josh:Why?
Jorge:20.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:So take your healing potion,
Tanner:It's absolutely...
Josh:No, you can.
Tanner:Which one was that?
Mike:right?
Tanner:Seven?
Jorge:7.
Tanner:Seven is annihilated.
Mike:I'll keep it then.
Jorge:Mike doesn't have a 12 AC or lower, right?
Tanner:It has a 12 AC.
Mike:Uh,
Mike:no.
Jorge:Oh, yay.
Tanner:So you hit.
Jorge:one
Jorge:two
Jorge:three
Tanner:Which one is this targeted at?
Jorge:four
Tanner:Oh yeah, that one's going to die for sure.
Jorge:that dies too
Tanner:It had two hit points!
Jorge:Yay.
Tanner:Zulgrath you are awake
Mike:luckily
Jorge:Alright.
Jorge:That's my turn.
Tanner:it's dark
Tanner:but
Tanner:you have trained
Tanner:with Doom Eater
Tanner:you have been in their darkness before
Tanner:you're not entirely caught off guard
Tanner:by this
Tanner:but you are blinded
Mike:can I see enough to just
Tanner:I'll say you could step out.
Mike:Step out of the darkness.
Josh:Right.
Tanner:Yeah, upwards or to the left.
Tanner:Yeah.
Mike:Perfect.
Mike:And then might six.
Mike:What is it saying?
Mike:It's like face meet fist.
Mike:I'm going to firebolt.
Tanner:Right.
Tanner:Oh, yeah, good.
Josh:when they say face meet fist
Jorge:Thank you This is
Tanner:A 16 hits!
Mike:16
Josh:what they mean is fireball
Josh:okay
Josh:okay
Mike:4 damage
Josh:okay
Josh:okay
Tanner:4 damage.
Mike:I healed it
Josh:okay
Tanner:It is not bloodied.
Josh:okay
Josh:okay
Josh:okay
Tanner:No, it was untouched previously.
Mike:Oh
Mike:Okay
Tanner:That brings us to the mites.
Josh:Thank you you Doesn hit No
Tanner:who are dwindling quite a bit.
Tanner:One will attack Niso.
Jorge:Hello.
Tanner:That is going to hit.
Tanner:Jeez.
Jorge:Is it a natural 20?
Tanner:Yeah, that's a 23.
Tanner:Not a natural 20.
Jorge:All right, then I don't care.
Tanner:So you take 7.5 to 4.
Tanner:And then the other one is going to attack Doom Eater with Disadvanted That a 16 Doom Eater
Jorge:All right.
Tanner:Does that hit?
Tanner:Wow.
Josh:My AC is 17.
Tanner:Okay.
Tanner:Very good.
Tanner:Then it is your turn.
Josh:Then I will go.
Josh:I will punch my 5 in the face.
Tanner:Right.
Tanner:Indeed.
Josh:Or the...
Josh:Bucks have faces.
Josh:Yeah, in the face.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:A 15 hit.
Mike:Mm-hmm.
Josh:Nope, I forgot an Operator.
Josh:Uh, 15?
Josh:Eight. Eight points of force damage.
Tanner:That is enough.
Tanner:They're little squishy guys.
Tanner:They've just hatched.
Tanner:if that is all from you
Josh:Nice.
Josh:Get killed, idiot.
Mike:Yes.
Tanner:does code in niso
Tanner:Uh-huh. Sure.
Tanner:Sure.
Tanner:I believe it is. Yes, you're doing, what is it, a grapple action, right?
Mike:grapple gives advantage on
Tanner:Grapple action.
Tanner:Oh it telling me that to grapple you make an unarmed strike
Mike:or grappled
Mike:condition gives advantage on
Mike:is it melee attack
Mike:Thank you Yes
Tanner:You grapple the creature.
Tanner:All right.
Mike:What does this get me?
Josh:All right.
Tanner:It is grappled.
Tanner:It is Zul'Grath's turn.
Tanner:It is not buddied.
Mike:Like, how do I...
Mike:Does it advantage on melee?
Tanner:Unfortunately, it just can't move,
Mike:Or nothing?
Tanner:and it has disadvantage to attack anyone
Tanner:besides the creature grappling it.
Tanner:but you don't get any benefit.
Mike:Oh, nice.
Tanner:it's not a successful
Mike:I could, actually.
Mike:I will blade sing again.
Mike:And then walk right up to it and give it a piece of my mind.
Mike:Which is the name of my rapier.
Mike:Here, have a piece of my mind.
Mike:There's a nine hit.
Tanner:one-liner, unfortunately.
Mike:Okay.
Tanner:Oh man, that does mean it gets another turn!
Tanner:Wow! Who would have thought it was going to get
Tanner:another turn?
Tanner:It goes for Niso, because
Tanner:it's advantage against Niso and disadvantage
Tanner:against Zul'Gath.
Tanner:I got a 17.
Tanner:Which I believe hits.
Tanner:And
Tanner:why
Tanner:that so weird 5e tools is like giving me ads in the middle of the screen and blocking the stat blocks
Josh:you Ew
Tanner:Wow, that is 9.5 to 4.
Tanner:Uh-oh.
Tanner:It is the Doom Eater's turn.
Tanner:Sure.
Josh:Yeah, I think moving my darkness over would be annoying now, so I'm just gonna do the
Josh:normal walk up.
Josh:Is there flanking?
Josh:I mean, last time we played like 5e there was flanking.
Tanner:Yeah, I think I did do flanking.
Josh:It's not an unreasonable task.
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah.
Josh:I don't know what flanking gets me.
Tanner:I think he had advantage.
Josh:Okay, sure. Great.
Tanner:Uh, yeah, that hits.
Josh:I punch him with an 18.
Josh:I deal 10 force damage.
Tanner:That'll do it!
Josh:Noice.
Tanner:He had nine hit points.
Tanner:You crushed the last bug.
Josh:Haha.
Tanner:The tool and its children are slain amongst your feet
Josh:Get killed, idiot.
Josh:Okay.
Mike:he shit his pants
Tanner:And I need to use the restroom so I'll be back in a minute
Mike:on how badly we beat these bugs
Mike:he's waddling
Mike:waddling to the bathroom
Josh:He's waddling?
Josh:I don't like that at all.
Mike:he's not even going to use the bathroom
Josh:Yes, a tool is a real thing.
Mike:in real life or in the game
Josh:Big real life.
Mike:What?
Josh:I had one as a pet for a few years.
Josh:Paralyzed my grandma.
Mike:Oh yeah, no, I've seen one of these.
Josh:Basically.
Mike:It's just a big crayfish.
Josh:Basically.
Josh:It can breathe air and water.
Mike:This is not a bug.
Josh:It's actually a large aberration.
Mike:That's probably...
Mike:Exactly.
Mike:What, Jorge?
Mike:It stands at 8 feet tall and weighs 650 pounds.
Josh:How would it know that?
Josh:Ask it where it figured that out.
Josh:I want to know.
Mike:It's its source DND Beyond.
Josh:Okay, but where did Forgotten Realms get it?
Josh:One second, I'm looking at the citation.
Tanner:All right.
Mike:Sense magic? The tool senses magic within 120 feet of it at will?
Josh:All right.
Tanner:Oh, I made a top over here.
Mike:Understands deep speech but can't speak.
Tanner:What's up?
Tanner:you could
Tanner:it will take longer than just walking
Tanner:but
Tanner:there really no penalty for that so I think it fine
Mike:you I done
Tanner:And so you guys make a bit of a slower trek
Tanner:back to Blade's Rest.
Tanner:The scouts spot you first
Tanner:as you slowly drag the corpse of the
Tanner:chule through the jungle.
Tanner:And Master Killock
Tanner:is alerted to your imminent arrival
Tanner:before you arrive, and he is waiting for you at the training grounds
Tanner:as you present him the dead chule.
Tanner:He goes, ah, well, that's some damn incredible
Tanner:work. We didn't really need you to bring back the whole
Tanner:thing, but sure.
Josh:Is it paralyzing you?
Tanner:Perhaps we could give it a go.
Tanner:We've never tried it, but
Tanner:we'll send some of it to you.
Tanner:Uh-huh. I guess we'll find
Tanner:out.
Tanner:Well, I
Tanner:must say, this is very impressive.
Tanner:you guys are clearly skilled hunters
Tanner:worthy of being hunters of Blades Rest
Mike:Very well then.
Josh:I'm going to go watch some Hitball.
Tanner:congratulations and
Tanner:good luck on your future hunts, welcome to the team
Tanner:Hitball, yes
Josh:That's what it's called, right? Hitball?
Tanner:They play Hitball
Tanner:Amazing
Josh:And now I'm going to go watch some Hitball.
Tanner:And that it That the one shot You did it You graduated
Mike:That was fun I knew
Josh:Yeah yeah it always fun to
Tanner:It has its weaknesses.
Josh:I think it's always fun to
Josh:jump into 5e every once in a while
Josh:you know see what it's like on the other side of the fence
Josh:it was a good time
Mike:I was going to play a gunslinger,
Mike:but I thought that too much
Mike:an ask or gear shifts.
Josh:are
Josh:Gunslinger's a thing in 5e?
Mike:Mm-hmm.
Mike:The
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:But the Blood Hunter
Josh:was, like, released as part of
Josh:the...
Josh:Like, it's not part of the normal Færrin
Josh:setting.
Josh:Like, it was in their Legends of Vox Machina book.
Josh:What? What?
Tanner:Why does D&D Beyond just have a bunch of
Mike:Yeah, Blood Hunter is under the critical role section in D&D Beyond, but Gunslinger is under Gunslinger class Valdus Spire of Secrets.
Josh:Oh, yeah, Vault Aspire of Secrets is also homebrew.
Josh:That's a third-party thing.
Mike:Sure.
Mike:Mage Hand Press.
Tanner:third-party stuff by default?
Josh:I didn't...
Josh:I didn't realize that it had that.
Josh:Yeah, I backed Full Despires of Secrets on Kickstarter back when they had their campaign in, I want to say, like, 2018.
Tanner:Yeah, I guess that's fair.
Mike:yeah there's not a lot of indication that this is uh uh what's it called
Josh:It was a good time.
Mike:not
Mike:like it's labeled dnd beyond like it's not in the homebrew section of dnd beyond it's one of
Josh:Okay.
Josh:That surprising Oh sure
Mike:the official classes you can just pick
Tanner:You guys were talking about alligators and crocodiles before and the mites I was using
Josh:I'm going to go ahead and do that.
Josh:I'm going to go ahead and do that.
Tanner:the crocodile stat block for the mites with some minor modifications.
Josh:I'm going to go ahead and do that.
Tanner:But, yeah.
Josh:There are crocodiles.
Tanner:I was like, well, there aren't crocodiles, but in a way...
Mike:But yeah.
Josh:There's a chimpanzee.
Tanner:Yeah, you fed him.
Tanner:That was the right thing to do.
Josh:We should have attacked it with darts.
Mike:You had me making that nature roll.
Mike:I was like, I get advantage on this.
Mike:I was like, he really doesn't want us to think.
Mike:Because if I rolled low enough, he'd be like, he's an invasive species.
Mike:He's killing me.
Tanner:Oh, so next to that mound of dirt that I mentioned
Josh:Throw some darts at him.
Mike:The true.
Tanner:was a hole in the ground
Tanner:with almost like
Josh:You have a sneaky comment, where's.
Tanner:baked
Tanner:clay-ish dirt that had hardened.
Mike:Potatoes.
Tanner:And it looked like this
Tanner:chule was just underground
Mike:I hate him.
Tanner:for some amount of time,
Tanner:like semi-preserved under the dirt,
Tanner:and it emerged.
Josh:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah, of course.
Tanner:I, uh...
Tanner:So I didn't really have any indicator for this, but he was kind of a...
Josh:Wasn't the bug eating all the food?
Tanner:spirit of the jungle kind of thing
Josh:He didn't use any plant powers fighting the bug.
Tanner:that was testing your morality
Tanner:and if you didn't feed him, it would
Tanner:have screamed and some plants would have animated
Tanner:around you and attacked you.
Josh:Should have planted the bug.
Tanner:No, it just...
Tanner:It just smooshed
Tanner:the egg sacs for you guys
Tanner:because...
Josh:was useful because we weren't going for them at all and if that had continued for two more
Tanner:Yeah.
Tanner:yeah that would have been interesting
Mike:a billion
Josh:rounds there would have been 24 mites on the board at one time.
Mike:I was actually doing the math
Mike:I was like we can't even kill mites fast enough
Mike:that they're spawning even if we were to get
Mike:rid of them we would like
Mike:terminate with like 60 mites and
Mike:a full health chule and we would have spent
Mike:all our actions killing the mite eggs
Mike:and like I think we just have to kill the chule and run
Mike:I don't know
Tanner:it worked out
Tanner:yeah I was on the fence
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:about running a one shot
Tanner:I didn't mention this
Tanner:last week but a couple days before
Tanner:our session my grandfather passed away
Tanner:and Liz was like
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:Tanner you probably shouldn't do a one shot
Tanner:and I was like no I can do the one shot
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:and it worked out
Tanner:So there we go.
Josh:Thank you Oh Oh Mm
Tanner:But yeah, I had an interesting week last week.
Tanner:We did a celebration of life.
Tanner:We had some of my family from Colorado staying at our house,
Tanner:which was interesting.
Tanner:We haven't really had a lot of multi-night guests before,
Tanner:so that was new.
Tanner:Correct, yes.
Tanner:Yeah, we have to return the favor a bit there.
Tanner:Miss Kitty is back in a cone I don know if I A couple months ago I don know if I brought this up
Tanner:but she had scratched a wound onto her neck.
Tanner:And so we got a cone, and we're just kind of monitoring it.
Tanner:And it healed.
Tanner:but what I think happened was
Tanner:before it healed it got a bit infected
Tanner:and just healed over
Tanner:because last week she scratched again
Tanner:and it was like it like burst sort of
Tanner:there was like pus
Tanner:and we had to get a culture
Tanner:and there was infection
Tanner:and she's on antibiotics
Tanner:they cleaned it
Tanner:and it's actually like looking really good
Tanner:and she's been on antibiotics, so it should actually heal this time.
Tanner:But yeah, she's in a cone, which is a little unfortunate for her.
Tanner:Yeah, yeah, it was his cat, yeah.
Tanner:Yeah, he was on a mental decline that really accelerated in the last two months.
Tanner:well he was in assisted living
Tanner:and then he got moved to the
Tanner:memory care unit
Tanner:but then he got pretty
Tanner:bad and was in the hospital for a few days
Tanner:and then went to like a rehab
Tanner:nursing home facility
Tanner:and they were
Tanner:somewhat attempting
Tanner:to treat him I'm a little
Tanner:upset with
Tanner:I think the care that he received there
Tanner:and he just went downhill and eventually
Tanner:they put him on what do they call it They didn call it palliative care but it was palliative care essentially
Josh:Outlead of care
Tanner:He didn't last long from there.
Tanner:Yeah, I like, you know, hindsight is whatever,
Tanner:but I question
Tanner:the amount of attention that he received
Tanner:versus
Tanner:I don't know if things could have been handled differently
Tanner:he had been on a decline
Tanner:since COVID but it was like a slow
Tanner:decline so I don't know
Tanner:yeah
Tanner:yeah i mean it's a tough job because a lot of times these people are aggressive and not very
Tanner:nice to you and it's a very intensive job you know caring for full-sized humans like that
Tanner:and they don't get paid very well.
Mike:Yes.
Tanner:It's just a bad situation all around.
Tanner:But thank you guys for playing.
Tanner:Yes.
Tanner:I'll have to boost the level for the next one
Tanner:so that our marshals get two attacks.
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:you I mean even if you used
Josh:Well, you would need, like, a specific feed that lets you do that.
Tanner:Oh.
Josh:You don't just get it for free.
Josh:Hmm.
Tanner:Right.
Josh:Well, two weapon... if you have two weapon fighting, then you could have, with your offhand,
Josh:done an attack.
Josh:Oh, you didn't have a one-handed weapon.
Josh:Okay, yeah.
Tanner:You wanted, like, great weapon master or, you know, what do they call it?
Josh:That's fair.
Tanner:There's a two-handed fighting style.
Mike:I don't know how that popped up on my character sheet.
Josh:Oh.
Tanner:I forget.
Mike:It's like, oh, you just get two overfighting.
Mike:It's other shit like, I don't know,
Mike:people talking about using a shield with the Bladesinger,
Mike:and it's like, you can't.
Mike:If you have armor or a shield on,
Mike:your blade song ends.
Tanner:Yeah, 20 is nuts.
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:So you have one one-handed weapon.
Mike:That's it.
Mike:But to be fair, I can't believe
Mike:how high the AC gets.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah.
Mike:Yeah.
Tanner:Yeah, I would give it a go.
Josh:No doubt.
Tanner:It's less than 2 gigabytes, so very easy to download.
Josh:Yeah, I could pack an extra like 100 gigs of
Tanner:Oh, jeez.
Mike:I'm down.
Josh:there if we're going for it you know i'm also not going to do that one of the mods is just
Tanner:I didn't consider that.
Tanner:But you could, is the point.
Tanner:people do just weird stuff
Josh:yeah one of the mods is just replaces like uh the monitors in the um in the ship with interstellar
Josh:in 4k with dolby atmos just to just bump up the uh the size of the mod pack i i
Josh:Jorge, you, um, your family does, like, Plex media share, whatever, with requests?
Mike:Mediation
Tanner:I don't understand
Josh:Plex. You have a Plex running for, uh, I, I had mine running for a little bit, and I hadn't realized
Josh:that I had somehow removed the filters on, like, what it would, like, what kinds of files it would
Josh:fetch uh i fetched a 215 gigabyte movie um because it came with like 28.3 sound or something like
Mike:That had
Josh:that it was ridiculous i don't even i don't even know where they got like the the rip from
Josh:no
Josh:it's the actual movie
Josh:it was just Avengers
Josh:Infinity War
Josh:but like with all the
Josh:I think it must have been like an IMAX rip or something
Josh:I don't know how that happened
Mike:It had to have been like the North Korean hack,
Mike:like the Sony hack or whatever.
Mike:They're just like, I don't know,
Mike:get the fucking IMAX version of...
Mike:Yeah, like...
Josh:yeah
Josh:it was ridiculous
Josh:anyway I'm putting that in our lethal company
Josh:mop pack
Josh:Mm Mm
Mike:He like Chinese and supports Trump
Josh:poison yeah
Mike:I was about to say.
Mike:3%
Josh:3% probably.
Mike:2%
Mike:I was thinking like
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:3% poison.
Mike:you couldn't do 3% nachos
Mike:that's 6 pounds of nachos
Mike:you're fucking dead
Mike:like
Mike:3%
Mike:that's crazy
Mike:that so fucking crazy does he think a rattlesnake bite fills you with 15 pounds of venom What does he think
Josh:you No
Mike:Does he think rattlesnakes
Mike:are the Giant salamanders
Mike:that they cut up and eat in China?
Mike:Josh, have you seen these?
Mike:These are abominations.
Josh:What are you talking about?
Mike:The Giant Chinese salamander.
Mike:josh they're six feet long and 6d6 pounds i saw my favorite one was uh there was a
Josh:That's unpleasant.
Mike:a post on twitter that was like david attenborough like david attenborough like him speaking like a
Mike:quote from like no no skip this one i don't i don't like this one and then someone quote
Mike:tweet it with a video of a Giant
Mike:Chinese salamander.
Josh:Of course.
Mike:Here, I
Mike:sent a picture of one.
Josh:Oh, that's a big guy.
Tanner:Uh-huh.
Mike:They're fucking
Mike:so big.
Tanner:Yeah, that's a specimen right there.
Josh:It's a big boy.
Mike:They're critically
Mike:endangered.
Tanner:It'll be great friends with Miss Kitty.
Mike:I'm so scared of the fucking amphibian dude
Josh:One of them would terrorize the other.
Josh:I don't know which would be the more aggressive in that situation.
Tanner:Do you guys want to play Pathfinder next Monday?
Josh:Alrighty. See y'all.
Mike:yes
Mike:I'm down
Josh:I guess. If we have to.
Mike:I'm down
Tanner:Yeah, I'm like all in, so...
Mike:Sure That works sure that works he taking shits a lot
Josh:Alright, let's do that then.
Josh:Johnny You trying to kill Johnny
Tanner:Thank you Exactly
Mike:talking about chess piece
Josh:I don't know.
Mike:oh yeah that's right
Josh:Yeah, this is in the transcript.
Mike:give me
Mike:you eat me orange
Mike:me eat, give me orange.
Josh:And.
Mike:We gotta spam now so that he doesn't.
Mike:We all start
Mike:chugging fucking cranberry
Mike:juice. Johnny like rolls
Mike:the fucking
Mike:it's not an insight, but it's a sense
Mike:motive and he could tell that we're all
Mike:just sort of like dumping it next to us and looking
Mike:at him waiting for him to drink.
Mike:my judge is completely
Tanner:Crazy.
Mike:so it's gonna be good
Tanner:Uh-oh.
Tanner:Mm-hmm.
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:sure yeah
Tanner:Yes, Josh, we're going to take our altitude bomb and put it in their plane.
Josh:Sorry, is this... this is Ternion Heavy?
Josh:Or this is... oh, okay.
Mike:take your pick
Josh:I wasn't sure if it was Ternion Heavy or Hildebrandt.
Josh:I didn't know which plane won.
Josh:Okay.
Tanner:Okay.
Mike:oh yeah
Mike:I had a bomb
Mike:I forgot to look at my inventory during this
Mike:because I have it in a different tab
Mike:yeah I had a bomb the whole time
Mike:Mm-hmm.
Josh:in in this session that we just did why don't you
Tanner:We're going to take an antiquated mortar and put it in the plane.
Mike:And I had a noisemaker and a smoke grenade.
Josh:Use a...
Mike:Because you don't need to use a bomb all the time.
Josh:Um...
Mike:Sometimes you just have them.
Josh:No, you should use a bomb every time you have an opportunity to do that.
Mike:I know what I'm doing next session.
Josh:Um...
Josh:No.
Tanner:That's a...
Tanner:Hmm.
Josh:The fundamental biggest mistake I made in Campaign 1
Josh:was the time dilation in the Undermountain.
Josh:Like, by far.
Josh:Because so long as the Undermountain existed,
Josh:your default response to any problem was,
Josh:I'm just going to go into, like, floor 12 of the Undermountain,
Josh:do a little bit of a training montage,
Josh:out level the problem and then pop back out so yeah yeah no that's really cool
Josh:it does hurt like general flow of the game though so that was that mistake
Josh:yeah yeah
Josh:Uh-huh. You had an always-available hyperbolic time chamber to just hop into a little bit every once in a while.
Josh:I don't know. I kind of... I don't know if there were mistakes.
Josh:I think...
Josh:You guys were a little bit out of band, but it wasn't as bad.
Josh:Like, you guys were stronger relative to other things at the end of Campaign 1 than you were at the end of Campaign 2.
Josh:Like, you guys were strong in campaign two, but I could throw harder things at you, it was fine.
Josh:I think I like fully believe that 5e D was not balanced in like from level 15 to 20 at all
Josh:uh just because like play usually doesn't get there um it's fine it's just like at that point
Josh:I feel like the exponential caster versus linear um versus linear marshal kind of really takes off
Josh:and I didn't feel that as harshly.
Josh:I think if anything, really specifically Lev
Josh:was probably a bit further out of band
Josh:than everybody else was,
Josh:but that was just because thaumaturges are ridiculous.
Josh:Like that wasn't a, like I gave you an item,
Josh:I regretted thing.
Josh:I think like, I don't have any,
Josh:I mean, I don't regret how campaign one went either.
Josh:For campaign two, I think the biggest mistake
Josh:was
Josh:I think probably Ashmont
Josh:in that
Josh:Ashmont was supposed to be
Josh:a perhaps aloof
Josh:but generally friendly resource
Josh:to help you guys figure out what was happening
Josh:early on because I expected you
Josh:to go to Iliara
Josh:second. Like, leave
Josh:the starting area and go
Josh:to Iliara. And instead
Josh:you guys spent 16
Josh:levels dicking around
Josh:before you really got there.
Josh:And so it just wasn't a thing
Josh:anymore, and he wasn't in a position
Josh:to be an annoying
Josh:but well-meaning, like, mentor
Josh:and instead was just an
Josh:obstacle. Um...
Josh:And I, like...
Josh:Yeah Not only was that your M on top of that you had been told hey this weird orb thing that you found it came from this city and a guy who might know something about it is in this city and you never tracked down
Tanner:you Were we not supposed to go into the desert
Mike:you We did
Josh:who that guy was, and you immediately disregarded the note that told you that's where it came
Josh:from, and you're like, no, we're going into the wilderness.
Josh:you could go into the desert i didn't expect you to go into the desert immediately i thought you
Mike:What is it?
Mike:The Gulch?
Tanner:...
Josh:would try and learn some information first before going into like uncharted territory
Josh:and you didn't do that and that was obviously clearly fine i just didn't have a good plan for
Josh:what to do with ashmont if you arrived there much much later like you actually did and so he didn't
Josh:really have an in to be your friend anymore.
Josh:Kind of. Like, you could
Josh:have approached him and tried to be friendly.
Josh:The problem is, at that point, you kind of
Josh:took the tech
Josh:ox's side instead of the
Josh:Ashmont
Josh:archive side. It's fine.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Tech was, like,
Josh:not a great dude
Josh:in Campaign 2
Josh:like he treated you guys as expendable
Josh:he fully ruined
Josh:Divex's life
Josh:like he just
Mike:I think the fact that he treated us like we were expendable
Josh:he wasn't a great guy
Josh:but tech is tech
Josh:so you know
Josh:true
Josh:if
Mike:made us respect him more.
Mike:They're like, yeah, we'll go and try to get this done for you
Mike:and we might not come back.
Mike:He's like, yeah, you might not come back.
Josh:I don know how much you can hold the bell against him specifically
Mike:Anyways.
Mike:Uh...
Josh:given that, at that time, I think you had broken into his house twice.
Josh:Like...
Josh:I know! I understand!
Josh:I'm just saying, like, throwing stones in glass houses and all.
Mike:This is
Josh:Yeah, through extensive glass houses.
Josh:Either way.
Tanner:Yeah, what are the question people?
Mike:Oh, this is a campaign to.
Josh:I...
Josh:I didn't understand the first half of that sentence.
Tanner:Okay. Yes.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Rowan.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Yes.
Mike:Yeah.
Josh:Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike:Vaguely.
Mike:I thought it matched
Mike:didn't it match the weird grass on the ship
Josh:I can neither confirm nor deny what it means, but I will confirm that the color of the grass
Mike:when Divex was in the bathroom?
Josh:on the ship
Josh:was the same as the color of the grass
Josh:Anzu saw
Josh:in the vision in the guy's head.
Tanner:But we've got no...
Mike:We have to kill Anzu.
Mike:I thought they were a different color.
Josh:Like,
Tanner:There's no meta...
Josh:yeah,
Josh:that is a crazy poll.
Mike:We have to kill Anzu.
Mike:Luckily...
Josh:I did not remember that at first, Jorge.
Josh:But you are correct
Josh:in that the grass was the same.
Josh:The grass that you saw in the vision was, like, from the Trip the Light Fantastic.
Josh:Like, to clarify.
Josh:Sorry, not the Anzu vision.
Josh:Like, the dream whatever when you were speaking to the Grey Servants in the archive.
Mike:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mike:Yeah, we have to kill Anzu then.
Mike:Anzu's part of the grass, the grass impact.
Tanner:No one how to kill me.
Josh:Yeah Yeah I for the for the
Mike:He seen too much Luckily I have a tab open that tells me exactly no no no
Josh:the Grashen Pact
Josh:oh yeah
Mike:that tells me exactly how to kill on
Josh:okay
Josh:sure
Josh:that's fair
Josh:it's like Batman
Tanner:He's got the optimal strategy.
Josh:contingency
Josh:that's
Josh:ridiculous. I think that is
Mike:Godfinder next week.
Josh:one of the better compliments I've ever
Josh:gotten, to be honest.
Josh:But that's crazy.
Josh:Yeah.
Josh:Yeah, that's crazy.
Josh:Pathfinder next week.
Josh:If we actually want to play Lethal
Mike:Godfinder next week.
Mike:oh
Josh:Company, I will put together a
Josh:small mod pack
Josh:if we want to play.
Mike:beat
Josh:Cool.
Tanner:yeah I'm actually also going to be away over the weekend
Tanner:but
Tanner:goodnight
Josh:All right.
Josh:We'll play at some point.
Josh:See ya.
